The Kano State Police command has reportedly arrested 22-year-old Ibrahim Magaji of Kosawa village of Kura local government for allegedly beating one Auwalu Hussaini to death for flashing light on his girlfriend.

The suspect who visited his girlfriend at Dakasoye village of Garun Malam local government area on Sunday November 3, was standing with his girlfriend when the deceased beamed the light on the face of his lover.

Magaji reportedly knocked Hussaini into coma and he was confirmed dead on arrival at Kura General Hospital. The suspect was arrested by operatives on Operation Puff-Adder on the directives of the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu after fleeing the village.

Police spokesperson DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa who confirmed the arrest said “Immediately we received the information our personnel were mobilised to the scene and rushed the unconscious victim to Kura General Hospital where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead on arrival.“Meanwhile, before then, the suspect had fled the village and the Commissioner of Police immediately activated the operation puff-adder machinery of the command and ordered that the suspect be arrested within 24hrs. Luckily, that same day at 10pm the personnel of Operation Puff-Adder arrested him.

A six-year-old boy is currently receiving medical attention at the Sexual Assault Centre of Gambo Sawaba Hospital, Zaria, the Kaduna state capital, after he was sodomised repeatedly by a 15 year old boy.

The boy was taken to the center by his father who said his son's teachers alerted him about the development.

''They said the boy always returned to class late from break and when asked where he had been, he would reply that he went to meet the abuser. When they continued to question him, he told them that the abuser had asked him to remove his trousers and then had sex with him,” he said

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the manager of the Sexual Assault Center, Amina Umar-Faruq, said medical examination revealed the six year old boy's anus had been penetrated

“After our investigation, we found out that the boy’s anus had been penetrated. He is currently undergoing medical treatment and rehabilitation. The perpetrator was also brought to us by the Police and he confessed to have been sexually abused too by someone whom he couldn’t name; he is also currently receiving treatment,” she told NAN
Umar-Faruq added that the matter was under investigation by the Police.

A student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Grace Dara Opeyemi, at the weekend committed suicide over poor academic performance.
The student in the Department of English Studies was said to have exercised the fear that she might not graduate alongside her mates for alleged poor performance in the university’s final year exams last semester.
According to her mate, who preferred anonymity, the deceased died after taking a dose of snipper on Friday.
“From a copy of the academic records on the university portal it showed that she had five outstanding courses and special electives as carry over and was unable to write the final exams with her mates in the last semester,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, confirmed the incident but said he was yet to be briefed about it.
However, he said got to know about the a female student of the university died of depression after taking a dose of a lethal substance known as Snipers because of her poor academic performance.
Olarewaju added that after the discovery that the deceased had taken the deadly substance, she was rushed to the university’s health centre and was later referred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital where she reportedly died.
Promising that the university would investigate the incident, he cautioned other students not to see suicide as an option from challenges.

Six men have been convicted of performing money ritual popularly known as “mubobobo” in Zimbabwe, with 63 pairs of women’s panties in a graveyard.

Leader of the group Handerson Chiwondo fled from the court leaving his disciples to bear the brunt of the judgment after Chief Makope’s traditional court in Nzvimbo village, Chiweshe, Zimbabwe, gave its ruling.

The culprits pleaded guilty to the charges and exposed 70-year-old Handerson Chiwondo as their leader who then fled before the judgment. The syndicate was only caught after traditional leaders summoned Bulawayo prophet Rutendo Mapurisa, also known as Madzibaba Sejiby from Umguza district to expose the criminals.

Chief Makope confirmed the incident and said six of the culprits pleaded guilty to the charge but one of the accused distanced himself from the allegations and called for a different set of prophets to prove his innocence.

“After the prophet from Bulawayo (Madzibaba Sejiby) identifying the culprits five of them said they were initiated into the “mubobobo” syndicate by the villager who fled after they were given small sticks which they used when going to bed.

SARS kill one, scores injured during burial procession of young man shot dead by security operatives in Rivers state

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, allegedly shot dead one person while many suffered during a funeral procession in Rumuosi, Obio-Akpor local government area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State on Monday.

It was gathered that the procession was for the burial of one Aleruchi Woko, who was allegedly killed by a military personnel during a protest over the deplorable state of Nkpolu Junction on the East-West road in Nkpolu, last November.

According to an eyewitness, the incident happened at about 9.30 am when some youths who had gone to carry the corpse of late Aleruchi Woko at a mortuary in Rumuosi, began robbing shop owners and residents with machetes.

The incident resulted into panic as residents and shop owners quickly locked up their homes and shops and scampered for safety.
“Some Policemen who witnessed the suspected hoodlums wearing black T-shirts and black trousers and clutching sharp machetes while robbing traders of their wares began shooting at them. Gun shots were heard in and around Nkpolu community. Some of Tricycle riders drove recklessly as part of the burial procession,” the eyewitness said.

Ekiti State University Lecturer caught on tape allegedly attempting to have sex with his female student(Photos)

A lecturer in the Accounting Department of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Dr O.O Aduwo, was yesterday disgraced after he was allegedly caught pants down while attempting to have sex with one of his female students simply identified as Nike who he had invited to his home.

According to reports by the students of the Institution who reached out to LIB, Dr Aduwo is allegedly well known for pestering his female students for sex. Yesterday, Nike alongside her boyfriend and some of her other friends, planned that she should go and see the randy lecturer as he demanded. While in his home, Nike's boyfriend and her friends who were laying siege outside the house, barged into the room and caught him on tape stark naked.

In a video made available to LIB, the lecturer who was visibly shaken after he was apprehended, could be heard appealing for a private meeting with those who caught him.

According to students of the Institution, Nike allegedly shared the video on her Whatsapp stories.

A teenage girl on Wednesday night was hit by a stray bullet from suspected armed robbers, who invaded Ikotun, a community on the outskirts of Lagos, The Nation learnt on Thursday.
The incident occurred around 9pm at Oladun Street, Council Bus Stop, Ikotun.
It was gathered that the girl was assisting her grandmother, a herb seller at a nearby market when armed men invaded the street.
According to a witness, the gunmen rode on four motorcycles pretended as though they wanted to buy recharge from a shop before they started shooting and then robbed them.
She said the bullet hit the teenager on her shoulder and leg, adding that she was rushed to a nearby hospital.
During a visit to the area on Thursday, shop owners lamented that the robbers stole their money and other valuables, appealing for constant police patrol of the neighbourhood to ward off the criminals.
A shop owner’s husband, Kayode Gabriel, said the gunmen carted away about N150,000 cash and N90,000 worth of airtime from his wife.
He said they were 12 in number, adding that people around claimed a woman was also hit on her waist by a stray bullet.
Gabriel said: “I saw some guys on four bikes, who were armed with guns. They came to my wife’s shop and pointed a gun at me, saying they were for serious business. My wife’s money was taken about N150,000 and her airtime bag of N90,000. She sells in bulk. Our phones were also taken. The fired their gun and unfortunately, it hit the young girl on her shoulder and leg.”
Another victim said they entered her shop and demanded the day’s sales, which she hurriedly gave them.
She said: “I should have closed and gone home if I knew this bad incident will happen to me. One of the guys came to my shop around past 9pm asking for the money I have sold. They took the money with them. I did not even count it I just hurriedly brought it out and gave them.

An evil stepfather has been found guilty of raping his stepdaughter and impregnating her nine times after kidnapping her and holding her hostage for 19 years.

60-year-old Henri Michelle Piette kidnapped Rosalynn McGinnis when she was 11-years-old from her home in Poteau, Oklahoma in 1997. He held her captive for 19 years and avoided detection by traveling across Mexico and the U.S.

Piette “married” Rosalyn in the back of a wagon in Wagoner, Oklahoma when she was 11, and his 15-year-old son officiated the wedding, according to the FBI, The Sun reports.
Rosalyn, now 34, managed to escape from Piette back in 2016 with her children while they were all living in Mexico. She told KSHB in an interview that she was sexually abused, became pregnant at aged 13 and gave birth to her first child at 15 in the back of a van.

However, she said she suffered a miscarriage, and Piette forced her to flush the foetus down the toilet.

She said: “I was scared, and I was so confused and didn’t even know what was happening.

“Looking back on what happened to me, I don’t even know how any human can do that to a child — what he did to me.”
McGinnis also revealed that she was just nine years old when her mother started dating Piette. He began sexually abusing her during their relationship, she said.

In 1997, her mother broke up with Piette because he had been beating her. He then retaliated by kidnapping McGinnis from school with the help of his son.

Anambra State Police Command has arrested 28 -year -old man for allegedly defiling an 11- year- old deaf and dumb girl.
The suspect, Ifeanyi Alagba, was nabbed by police detectives attached to ‘B’ division Awka during the democracy day celebration.

The incident, according to the Police public relation’s officer PPRO, Mr Mohammed Haruna, took place at Amoko road, ifite Awka.
It was contained in a statement on Thursday in Awka by the Command made available to reporters.
Haruna said the victim had been taken to the hospital for proper medical examination, while investigations were ongoing.

A young lady identified as Abimbola Ayanwale Modinat, has died after she was allegedly robbed and pushed out of a moving commercial bus by suspected armed robbers at Idi-Iroko, Anthony Village area of Lagos State on Tuesday June 11th.

According to reports, Abimbola was returning home when she unknowingly boarded a bus filled with criminals. In the course of their journey, she was robbed, killed and pushed out stark naked in front of Domino’s Pizza at about 11pm on Tuesday June 11th.

The incident was immediately reported at the Anthony Village Police Station and her body was later evacuated by the police and deposited at Lagos State University (LASUTH) mortuary.

Abimbola graduated from the department of Linguistics, Ekiti state University.

A 70-year-old man from Florida was arrested for allegedly impregnating a 13-year-old girl.

According to a Boca Raton police report, Renaud Jerome of Boca Raton was arrested on Friday after the girl showed up to a hospital complaining of pain symptoms associated with constipation. That's when doctors discovered she was 14 weeks pregnant.

The Miami Herald reports that the victim told police that Jerome “would touch her and have sex with her” and was the father of the child she is carrying.

Jerome, who only speaks Creole, admitted to police that he had consensual sex with the victim three times over the past couple of months.

“Jerome stated that within the last couple of months he has had consensual vaginal intercourse with [redacted] three times,” police said. “Jerome stated that [redacted] was interested in him more than he was interested in her and never forced her to do anything.”

Jerome is being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail and he’s required not to have any contact with the teen or anyone under 18.

Imam Tawhidi, an Iranian-Australian Muslim religious leader who refers to himself as the Imam of Peace, has addressed people from other countries who go to the West and expect their host country to change for them.

Tawhidi said diversity and "multiculturalism at all costs" is the fastest way to destroy a country, therefore, it is wrong for people from other countries with different cultures to come to the West and try to force "the host nation to accommodate your beliefs".

He wrote on Facebook:

Six members of a family were killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen inside their home in Dangwal village, Ganawuri district of Riyom local government of Plateau state along Jos-Kaduna-Abuja road on Monday night May 27th.

According to reports, the gunmen arrived Dangwal Village at about 8pm on Monday and headed straight to Lo-Gwong Du family house where they murdered 6 members of the family.

Speaking to newsmen in Jos, one of the family members, Lyop Gideon, a 25 year- old mother of 1 and survivor of the attack said she escaped death by pretending to be dead.


Lyop’s baby also survived the attack as the gunmen decided to spare the baby's life who at the time was in her grandmother's arm. The grandmother was however killed. Lyop's husband, Gideon Gyang, his two parents, two siblings and a cousin were all killed in the attack.
"I laid flat on the ground as they opened fire, killing everyone. My baby yelled from my dead mother in-law's arms but she was unhurt," Mrs. Gideon said.


According to her, the family was having dinner together when the armed men attacked.
"My husband was in our room few meters away from my father in-law's room where seven of us were eating. They shot him first, and my terrified mother in-law started screaming. As my husband was groaning and my mother in-law screaming, they came into the room where we were. One of them tried to say something in Berom language but wasn't so fluent. He spoke also in Fulfulde saying 'Hurut mu hilleh' after opening fire in the room but I don't think that language was standard too"

An official of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Mr Dennis Onoja has been murdered by unknown persons in Lafia, Nasarawa state.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Usman Samaila, who confirmed the report to newsmen on Thursday in Lafia, said the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday at Onoja's residence in Tudun-Kauri axis of Lafia metropolis.

According to him, it was raining at the time of the incident while the victim’s power generating set was on and the noise made it impossible for his neighbours to know what was happening.

He said that one of the neighbours went to charge the battery of his mobile phone in the victim’s apartment when he saw his lifeless body in his room.

The PPRO said the neighbor had knocked on the door repeatedly without any response.
“The neighbour decided to peep through the window and saw the victim in the pool of his blood. He alerted the victim’s colleagues who came to the scene and reported the incident to the police,” Mr Samaila said.

The PPRO said there were machete cuts on the victim’s body and obvious signs of struggle in his apartment.

He said that the police, in collaboration with the NDLEA, have commenced an investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.

Mr Samaila said that the remains of the victim have been deposited at the morgue of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia.

A father has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 5-year-old daughter by throwing her into a fire.

Pavel Makarchuk, 50, allegedly hit his daughter Darina, causing her to fall to the floor and hit her head. He then allegedly decided to hide his crime by chopping the girl's body and burning her in the oven, police in Ukraine said.

Regional police commander in Zhytomyr, Artem Lisogor, said: "The father pushed or hit the girl. The child fell down and crashed her head against the threshold. The girl passed out and did not recover. The father decided to hide this crime, so the child was put inside the stove and burned.''

Makarchuk’s wife, 41, has also been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder.

A murder investigation has now been launched, nine months after the girl was killed.

When police arrived at their home, the couple allegedly dressed their son, 3, in girl’s clothes to make it seem that Darina was still alive. Darina had been living with a foster family for at least two years and was only given back to her biological parents three months before she was killed, Metro UK reports. Police said the parents, who have three other children, "confessed" to the attempt to cover-up Darina’s death and admitted she had been thrown into the stove.

A middle-aged herbalist has been reportedly struck to death by a thunderstorm at Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

It was gathered that the incident took place on Sunday during a downpour at the herbalist’s rented apartment located at Oke-Oja area of the town.

A community source, who craved anonymity, identified the victim as Babatunde Sule, a staff of Ekiti State House of Assembly Commission. It was gathered that the rain, which started at about 4:30p.m, accompanied by a heavy thunderstorm, caused panic in the town.

The late Sule, until his untimely death, was a renowned traditionalist and chieftain of a traditional worshippers association in the community.

It was learnt that the torrential downpour had forced everybody indoor and there was a thunder spark, which was reported to have entered the deceased’s home and struck him in the chest on a spot where he was cooking in the kitchen.

A close source, who lives within the same compound with the deceased, said he saw the herbalist’s lifeless body on the kitchen floor.

The source said: “The unfortunate incident took everybody in the town by surprise, because the victim was a notable person in the town and immediately the news filtered into town, an attempt was made to contact some ‘Sango’ worshippers and as well reported the matter to a divisional police station in the town.

“The traditional rites over the unfortunate incident have begun and it will last for seven days in the community, which is expected to be accompanied by the downpour. This type of incident has never happened in this town and that is why we are panicking.”

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and 393 other passengers, escaped a plane crash in Lagos.

According to reports, the former president was among the passengers onboard an Ethiopian Airlines plane that found it difficult to land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The Ethiopian Airlines aircraft, ET-901, had departed the Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, at 9:10am, Ethiopian time (7am Nigerian time). Five hours after flying, the plane attempted to make a landing at the Lagos Airport but failed.

The rain and heavy wind obstructed the pilots vision. On realising that landing might be difficult, the pilot who is said to have many years experience, quickly maneuvered the plane back on air, flying out of the Lagos airport. After hovering around between Lagos and areas suspected to be in Ogun, causing panic among passengers and crew members, the plane landed in Lagos airport, some 20 minutes after the initial false landing.

The former president had gone to Ethiopia for a Stakeholders Dialogue on Continental Trade and Strengthening Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA) in Ethiopia which ended yesterday Tuesday, May 28th.

Nollywood actor, Ime Bishop Umoh aka Okon Lagos, has stated that he does not regret saying prostitutes do not have any dignity.

Recall that Okon came under serious attack some weeks ago after he shared a video on his Instagram page in which he reacted to the alleged rape of some women accused of prostitution in Abuja. Over 70 women were arrested by the police officers in Utako and the women alleged that the officers took turns to rape them using sachet water nylon as condom. Okon in his video said the women cannot claim they were raped because they are prostitutes and do not have any dignity. Read here.

In this fresh interview, Okon says he does not regret his comment. The father of two said he does not in anyway justify rape but he was astonished that as much as social media users were condemning rape, they were not also condemning prostitution which he believes is an immoral act.

“I live my life in such a way that I live for the best and hope for the worst so things hardly shock me. I saw the backlash coming but I didn’t know it was going to get that sort of attention. I saw it coming; I knew I might be misunderstood depending on the level of comprehension of my audience. Humour waters down the sensitivity of some issues. Euphemism is saying something that is very harsh in a mild way. I didn’t justify rape in any way.
The issue people had with what I said was that I likened rape to theft and that I said prostitutes do not have dignity. My assertion was to clarify the fact that raping a prostitute is theft and they don’t have dignity. My assertion is metaphorical. If I wanted to use a simile, I would say rape is like theft. Rape is taking a woman’s dignity without her consent. I don’t regret saying that prostitutes do not have dignity; no one would be proud to introduce themselves as a commercial sex hawker.

Anambra State Police command said it has rescued one Emmanuel Loco abducted in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government area of the state.

The Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed this on Saturday in a statement in Awka.

He said the victim was abducted by two men on military attires and face cap within Ogidi around Bucky Poly Abatete road of the town.

He said the suspects on sighting the Police abandoned the victim inside the bush off Abatete road and fled.

He said, “On the 24/5/2019 at about 7:35pm, distress call was received at Ogidi Police Station that one Emmanuel Loco ‘m’ of Abagana was abducted within Ogidi around Bucky Poly Abatete road.

“Following the report, Police operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder and Ogidi Division mobilized to the area.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that victim was flagged down by two men on military Polo and face cap at about 5:15pm along same road while driving his Mercedes Benz 320 SUV with registration number MHA 111KP before being joined by four other armed men who abducted him.”

Mohammed assured that the case was being investigated while efforts were on to apprehend the fleeing accomplices.

He urged the public to be wary of the new trend of crime and report any suspicious persons to the nearest Police station for prompt action.

The Lagos state police command have arrested a private security guard employed by the management of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu, Cletus Wilson, for allegedly murdering his colleague, John Okoro, and attempting to flee with his body parts.
According to reports, Cletus who secures the Computer Engineering Faculty of the polytechnic, had tricked his colleague, John, into the bush within the school premises where he first used a metal object to hit his head. Confirming that John was unconscious, Cletus slaughtered the deceased and then chopped off his hand. He was about to run with the body part when he was apprehended by his colleagues.
The management of the school immediately alerted the police along Ikorodu-Sagamu road and Cletus was arrested.
Confirming the incident, the divisional police officer in charge of the police station, Adekunle Omisakin, said the suspect will be charged to court immediately after investigations into the matter have been concluded.

A house wife, Habiba Usman, who resides in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State has welcomed conjoined twin girls.

Habiba's husband, Suleiman Usman, told Daily Trust that she had a miscarriage two years ago and became pregnant last year.

Usman said that his wife showed slight signs of labour for about five days so he took her to the hospital where she was attending ante natal clinic.

“When we went to the hospital we were told to go for a scan and after the scan the doctors told us that she had to be operated upon after which they were delivered with the unusual twins. Since their birth, people have been trooping to the hospital to catch a glimpse and the thing is becoming unbearable because we have to call security to control people. We don’t know how we can cope when we are discharged from the hospital” he said

Some hoodlums beheaded a middle-aged businessman, identified simply as Chima, on Wednesday in the Rumuekini community in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the victim was shot before being beheaded by his assailants in the presence of his wife.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that the incident happened around 11pm, adding that the killers switched off the victim’s generator in order to lure him out of his apartment.

It was gathered that the victim came out to check why the generator suddenly went off and was accosted by the hoodlums, who shot him.

The source said, “The incident is shocking. Last night (Wednesday), Chima sat outside with his brothers and friends at a pub on the school road.

“Later around 11pm, we heard that he was attacked in his house. We heard that the killers switched off his generator and when he went outside to find out what happened to the generator, he was attacked.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received another batch of 195 stranded Nigerians from Libya.

Alhaji Idris Muhammed, Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office, NEMA, who confirmed the development to newsmen on Thursday in Ikeja, said this was the largest batch of voluntary returnees since the exercise began in April 2017.

Muhammed said the Nigerians arrived at the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja at 8.20p.m. on Wednesday aboard a chartered Al Buraq Air aircraft with registration number 5A-DMG SEB.

He disclosed that they were the 69th batch of returnees brought back by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU) under the Assisted Voluntary Returnees (AVR) Programme.

According to him, after profiling, the breakdown of the new returnees shows that they comprise of 71 female adults, 25 female children and 17 female infants

Kunle Adewunmi, a bricklayer an alleged specialist in breaking into cemeteries to steal human body parts, and his two accomplices have been arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
They were arrested penultimate Saturday after allegedly stealing human body parts from no fewer than 35 tombs in recent times.
It was said that nemesis caught up with the trio while they were digging up graves at a cemetery belonging to a parish of the Methodist Church at Ogbe,Abeokuta.
They were said to have been sighted by a female member of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC), who was attracted to the scene by the loud sound of diggers used by the suspects.
The woman, sources said, raised the alarm which attracted other OPC members in the area who apprehended the suspects.

Members of the church were said to have identified Adewunmi as the bricklayer usually hired to plaster graves after burial of bodies at the graveyard.
