astephen2:shut up. Onitsha is a clean place. I know what am saying. An entire Street with no dirty pure water sachet littered on the street...that's only in onitsha and most parts of Abuja, Enugu, Calabar. The sand on the road sides are from the harmattan weather. Just wish obiano would use those motor-sweepers like Enugu does to clear the sand though |

weedcrusha:the red soil is as a result of high level of iron the soil. It's a common site in southern nigeria. The advantage is that the soil is sticky and can last long. Erosion is a common issue in nigeria not just the East. Just of recent a man was complaining after losing his house to Erosion in Lagos. Yes, the technology is still in trial we hope we get wonderful results |
By James Eze (eziokwubundu@gmail.com) The government of Anambra State is currently experimenting with a new technology that will lead to the construction of longer lasting roads in the state. Speaking at a demonstration of the use of the technology on the short road linking the state secretariat complex to Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Thursday, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano revealed that the new technology is expected to boost his administration’s effort to find a lasting solution to the challenge of building roads that would stand the test of time in the state. Said he: “We just want to experiment with this short and busy road and see how it can withstand heavy traffic before we can begin to adopt it for internal roads within the urban and non-urban areas,” Speaking further, Governor Obiano explained that after the experiment, the road would be placed under close observation for six months to see whether it would withstand heavy traffic. “And if we eventually are convinced that such is the case, then we will begin to apply the technology in the construction of roads in the hinterland and other areas,” he assured, pointing out that the test being done on the short stretch of road was at no cost to the state government since it was a demo. Offering further insight into the experiment, Mr. Telforn Soden, the engineer representing West Incorporate; owners of the technology, explained that the product was a road stabilizer which had been in use in many parts of the world. “We built roads in South Africa that have been there for 25 years. All that may be required is just resurfacing. We have built roads in Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia and many parts of Eastern Europe,” he explained. Earlier in his opening remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Chief Law Chinwuba had explained that the new technology was expected to drive down the cost of constructing roads in the state by 50 percent. Pointing out that the government decided to adopt the technology as part of fulfilling its mantra of doing-more-with-less, Chief Chinwuba observed that Anambra has the best network of roads in the country but what the state had to figure out was the way to maintain the roads. He commended governor Obiano for funding the purchase of new road maintenance equipment up to the tune of N100m and assured that road maintenance teams were currently deployed across the three senatorial zones where they are patching up all broken roads and filling potholes. http:///forum/general-discussion/anambra-adopts-new-technology-long-lasting-roads

By James Eze (eziokwubundu@gmail.com) The government of the United States of America has commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano for putting in place a security arrangement that guarantees the safety of the residents and visitors to the state. Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia on Thursday, the US Consul General, Mr. John Bray praised Governor Obiano for providing a very secure environment and an impressive network of roads. According to him, “First of all, this is my first visit to the South East. I heard about the South East a lot. We met with some of the security officials in the morning and we met with the governor. I am very, very impressed with the quality of roads in the state. Believe it or not, they are not like this everywhere in Nigeria. I am also impressed with the improvement in the security environment which has come into place with the current government.” Consul General Bray further recalled that he first heard about Anambra a couple of years ago when some American citizens had a variety of problems in the state and expressed confidence that with the arrangements Governor Obiano has put in place such challenges would be a thing of the past. Describing his visit as a fact-finding trip, Mr. Bray further revealed that his visit would bring him face to face with members of the civil society and some opposition figures in the state. Also speaking, the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano explained that his discussion with the American team covered various developmental areas including education and scholarship. He further revealed that another meeting had been scheduled in the near future where both parties would look at the finer details of the proposed collaboration that would accelerate the development of Anambra State. It would be recalled that just last weekend, Governor Obiano was decorated as The Governor of the Year 2015 by the publishers of The Sun Newspapers in a colourful ceremony in Lagos, confirming his position as Nigeria’s best performing governor in the outgone year. The organisers of the award praised him for his crime-bursting efforts and for catapulting Anambra into a frontline state in less than two years. http:///forum/general-discussion/us-govt-lauds-obiano-security-infrastructure

likila:your region that didn't experience war, how is it looking? Most things that you guys don't know is that not many nigerian soldiers got into the east. The war was fought mostly mid West (current Niger delta). The east got mostly air raids. Most pictures you see here are of the mid West. |
With the way the economy is going, more of this would be a daily occurance |
DeadWrong:yes, like buhari is hosting Internet "masters" to a dinner? My friend walk away from here Ekiti state has a relationship with east. Currently, Ekiti state indigenes are in Abia state for training on trading and skill acquisition. Ekiti state schools are also into school program exchange with anambra state This is the only westerner reaching out to the east fo development and not being jealous of them |
DOUBLEWAHALA:nice try. Even when you try to purchase a car from kia house, Enugu you can take it for a test run |
Firefire:what's my business? Am I the one that voted in the nepa bill certificate holder? Even his followers can't even call him on this yet you want people to pray for nigeria?..heaven helps those that help themselves As far as anambra, Enugu, Abia, ebonyi are doing well, I am fine...Nothing concerns me with nigerians. |
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha It's not yet serious nah...When it gets to #1000=1$ that's only when we'll take it serious Nigerians always take things serious when it gets bad. Boko haram, indebtedness etc these are things that would have been avoided. Now we're going after igbos, Niger Deltans, fulani herdsmen etc |
OPCNAIRALAND:must you always mention igbo Every single goddamn comment, every single one of them is igbo related This is how madness starts. You're mad with igbos. You need to see a psychiatrist |
INTROVERT:I heard Innoson is just 44 yrs old? That man is something else..makes me want to hustle more. |
I have noticed it's people that have problem with the apc that take pride in igbo produce and progress these days If saraki wasn't having problems with the apc, I don't think he would be bothered to advertise Aba and anambra made goods Anyway, any publicity is good publicity..wch ever way, business must go on. There are other igbo mad goods that need advertising: the strongest cable Is made by an igbo, cutix cable |
That looks like buhari's ding dong |
Wow t y bello should be featured on there. "How a nigerian photographer changed the life of a bread seller" I started hearing of t.y bello as Goodluck Jonathan's photographer |
Idrismusty97:lol, so you this pained about anambra state news flooding nairaland of late. Lol 1. Anambra has got like 30 farms opening up in the state as we speak. Not owned by only one man. This way wealth is spread 2. The sorghum news that is so pains you is as a result of over 50 years, nigerians were meant to believe that sorghum and other grains can't grow in the east...but thanks to the brain child of science, anambra proves you guys wrong 3. Anambra is currently the only state exporting agric produce to Europe (uk). Incase you don't know, EU banned nigerian imports from their country as a result of fertilisers being used to grow. Anambra farm produce are 100% organic 4. Anambra is making $5 billion from this agric exports. More money than the entire West (excluding lagos) can make 5. Anambra news reports are backed with pictures to view the on ground progress 6. More than 6 industries I know personally opened in anambra since this year Lol, now I get why you're jealous |
Nigerians gon hate so much on this news |
joseph1832:so, advertising nigerian products is now a stunt. When he rode around in BMW cars, it was normal shey? Buhari's wife flaunts a $50k cartier watch and it's "normal"...Ben flaunts Aba made and it's a "stunt"? Slave mentality of an African man |
People be calling Aba fake and Italian original Italian leathers are not made for nigerian weather. Once an Italian shoe is exposed to heat, it starts to shrink until it breaks On the other hand, aba can last in nigerian weather but the finishing is not perfection but it's improving Same thing goes to Aba tailoring: they know th body structure of an average nigerian wch is why their clothes fit more perfectly unlike the China clothes most nigerians wear that are freakishly small n tight |
I saw that. Along Goodluck boulevard. The place is beautiful but the construction of that bypass has left the whole area dusty |
