Senator Dino Melaye has appealed to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to declare a state of emergency in Kogi state. Melaye said that the declaration by the Acting President will go a long way to save people of the state from lawlessness.

The Senator also appealed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to call the Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello to order.

He said that the undemocratic leanings of the Governor might ruin the work that genuine APC members have done in Kogi.

According to Daily Post, Melaye also said that the “draconian Idi Amin” approach to governance by Yahaya Bello today as displayed by his criminally minded hooligans and hired killers in usurping the legislative powers and privileges of the Parliament was a clear manifestation of Satanism.

A governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu had picked the Expression of Interest/ Nomination form for the party’s governorship primary at the secretariat.

Adeyeye said despite its loss in the 2015 general election, the PDP remains a party of choice for Nigerians, adding that this was evidenced in the jubilation that trailed the resolution of the party’s leadership crisis by the Supreme Court recently.

The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), at the weekend, said that the creative industry could contribute over 5 percent to the gross domestic product (GDP) in the country thereby creating jobs for the unemployed.

NFVCB Executive Director, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, who disclosed this in Abuja, explained that the agency needed proper funding to drive the process.

He called on the National Assembly and the Federal Ministry of Finance to increase the board’s budget, emphasizing that the 2017 allocation for the agency was too poor to produce any significant results.

The acting president said there was a need for them to be at the military command control centre in the hotbed of insurgency after a meeting with service chiefs on Thursday.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it has recovered N328.9 billion debt owed the Federal Government after quizzing the managing directors of nine major oil marketers, including Forte Oil, Oando and Total.

The other companies queried by the anti-graft agency are Conoil Plc, OVH Energy Plc, Mobil Plc, MRS Oil Plc, and NIPCO Oil Plc.

Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesman, who disclosed this in a statement, said the recovery was sequel to a petition against the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and its subsidiary, the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC).

Chief Magistrate’s Court in Sango, yesterday, dismissed charges filed against the man who named his dog ‘Buhari’ in a community in Ogun state.

Joachim Iroko was arrested in August 2016 after he had been accused on being insensitive by naming his dog Buhari after Mr President.

Magistrate O. O. Adebo said the prosecutor failed to substantiate his case against Joachim Iroko and consequently struck out all charges against him.

The neighbour, identified as Haliru Umar from Sokoto State, said Mr. Iroko harboured sinister motives when he named his dog Buhari.

Economic expert, Prof. Pat Utomi has criticized Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the immediate past governor of Delta State. Utomi, a former Secretary of the State Government, said Uduaghan and some ‘elements’ in previous governments sabotaged his efforts to contribute to the development of the state.

Keep In Mind That I Bought Alcohol, The Hair And Beads That That Man Put On His Head And He Never Paid Me Back For Any Of Those Things.

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State Biafra, MASSOB, Tuesday, directed Igbo residing in the Northern part of the country to use the month of August, 2017 to return to the Eastern part to beat the October 1 deadline quit notice given by the Arewa youths.

MASSOB National Information Officer, Mr. Samuel Edesonu said in a statement that the decision to urge Igbo people to come back home in August was taken at its national executive meeting presided over by the MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu.

According to Edesonu, August was chosen because of its significance in Igbo calendar as the period for new yam festival and women’s August meeting and charged the Igbo, especially women, to persuade their loved ones (husbands and children) to come home unfailingly.

At first, the singer admitted to being the father of the child and later, his mother visited the new mum and the infant with gifts of clothes and other things. This was back when Diamond had yet to dominate the world with his music.

He quickly rose to fame following his collaborative projects with Nigerian stars, and ever since has worked with international acts including Ne-Yo.

Now, the family of the vixen, in a recent interview, have accused the singer of abandoning his daughter, never publicly acknowledging her except for his two children with Zari Hassan.

This is not the first time the singer would be accused of having a child outside marriage. Ghafla has also linked him to top act Hamisa Mobetto’s pregnancy, which he expressly denied.

Diamond Platnumz, who recently made peace with wife Zari over infidelity row, is yet to speak up since the news of the vixen’s daughter surfaced.

In a statement signed by the group’s national secretary, Mr. Collins Edwin, the APC described Okoye as a ‘son of darkness’. Here’s the statement; “We read the scurrilous remarks credited to Mr. Peter Okoye of the Psquare group against the Federal Government’s job-saving policy in the entertainment industry with great anger and vexation.

Least of all persons to make a scathing remark against the government is the Psquare group which the local content policy of the Federal Government dusted-up from the valley of obscurity.

Where was Peter Okoye or Psquare brand in 1999 when foreign music dominated our airwaves? If not for the government policy which mandated all broadcast stations in Nigeria to pay attention to Nigerian music by playing 95 percent of Nigerian songs every day, would Peter Okoye or Psquare be known to anybody in Nigeria today? Or would they have competed with better American music which dominated our airwaves then?
