It's actually not that we don't have talents as Nigerians, but the simple truth is that our talents are not well appreciated. If na oyinbo pikin do dis small tin (though e no fit fly o), an average industry go c d need 4 d boy. D only talent we embrace in Nigeria is wen a boy hides under d tire of an aeroplane from Abuja to Lagos, nt wen he tries to construct an aeroplane that flies from Abuja to Lagos.

The venus is closer to the sun than the earth so it would experience more gravitational force than the earth even though it's mass is quite lesser than that of the earth , so the centripetal force of the venus would be more than that of the earth because of the square distance factor , leading to a higher revolutionary velocity which can be interpreted into a short year, but due to the relatively large radius of venus compared to that of the orbit , According to the popular equation wr=v, the angular velocity of venus would be very small relatively to the revolutionary velocity, infact smaller than the revolutionary velocity which leads to a longer day than year. grin

if this ur contribution is true, u must be insinuating that MECURY which is the closest planet to the sun has a day that by far longer than its year, in comparison to that of venun. ( even though it doesent rotate backwards. please i need this answer

Sports / Ronaldo Is Out Of This World: Astronomers Name Galaxy 'CR7' by raphok1(m): 6:15pm On Jun 18, 2015
The Real Madrid superstar has lent his nickname
to a new discovery in the skies, believed to be the
brightest object found in the early universe
Real Madrid 's 'galactico' era may have ended but
their Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo continues
to prove he is out of this world after a galaxy was
named 'CR7'.
The nickname is synonymous with the former
Manchester United man, comprising his initials
and the squad number he used at both Old
Trafford and the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, it now has astronomical connotations
after the European Southern Observatory (ESO)
named a new galaxy in the 30-year-old's
honour, describing it as the brightest to be found
in the early universe.
"Astronomers using ESO's Very Large Telescope
have discovered by far the brightest galaxy yet
found in the early Universe and found strong
evidence that examples of the first generation of
stars lurk within it," the group explained.
"These massive, brilliant, and previously purely
theoretical objects were the creators of the first
heavy elements in history - the elements
necessary to forge the stars around us today, the
planets that orbit them, and life as we know it.
"The newly found galaxy, labelled CR7, is three
times brighter than the brightest distant galaxy
known up to now."
The CR7 epithet, in astronomical terms, stands for
Cosmic Redshift 7 - a method of measuring a
celestial body's place along the timescale of the
universe.
The discovery came after a new expansive study of
the skies - aimed at discovering ancient stars
known as Population III stars, which were formed
very early after the Big Bang - and it is hoped CR7
will help scientists understand how early elements
came into being.
"Those stars were the ones that formed the first
heavy atoms that ultimately allowed us to be here.
It doesn’t really get any more exciting than this,"
said team leader David Sobral.

The bible is a fake bullshit that we only accept because it is so ancient and we where brought up beliving it.

Let us stop being afraid of God because thousands of people are atheist, hindus buddist etc and nothing happens to them.

Churches are burnt, bibles are torn, saints are crucified and nothing happens.

If God says he exist and want us to worship him,let him write it in the sky.....why hide from us and ask us to belive u exist and if we dnt,you will punish us in hell while u say that you love us......sounds like something the devil will do not god.

Why give us many religions and ask us to blindly choose the right one and if we couldnt, you will punish us.

Why do you like our praises so much if you are so great and dont need us.....we never asked to be created in the first place.....why do you ask us to thank you for bringing us into this vile and ruthless world.

I will never worship or serve you because ur rule is by fear.....pple dnt love you, they only pretend to out of fear.....love is unconditional and your is....quench hell and let us see how many people will actually serve you.

You drown men for disobeying you.....stalin killed for the same reason.....you asked the isrealites to kill people that worship any other except you, boko haram do the same thing.....jephtah sacrificed his daughter to you, meaning you accept human sacrifice like all other heaten gods.

I promise that if you ever exists and armagadon comes,i will ride with satan and the fallen angels against you and make sure you are sent to the bottomeless pit(pls make it hotter because you will enjoy it soon)

Satan never did anything to man by your own account in the bible.....he said we sld eat the fruit and be wise and it worked.....the worst thing he did was mess with job and you allowed it

But you

You unforgiving beast allowed your son to be killed so that you can forgive us and we still go to hell after that.

You allowed a bear to eat 52 children for insulting elijah.

You drowned you so called beloved ones because they disobeyed you....what would tge devil hav ton in this case?

You orded the murder, rape and enslavement or whole cities.

You allowed your beloved ones the isrealites to be enslaved because they disobeyed you due to your poor managerial skills.....even hitler would not do that.

I can go on and on to prove you are the greatest beast of them all.....even baal is better that you

BRAVO O MAN. IN YOUR LITTLE UNDERSTANDING U BELIEVE U HAV SPOKEN. I TELL U ASSUREDLY THAT EVERY WORD U HAV WRITTEN HERE TODAY WOULD BE REMINDED U BY GOD. U THINK U UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT GOD, AND HAV FORGOTTEN ( OR MAYBE HAV NOT SEEN) THAT AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THAN THE EARTH SO ARE HIS WAYS AND THOUGHTS HIGHER THAN OURS; AND U TRY TO COMPREHEND HIS WAYS WITH UR LIMITED NATURE. U HAV ONLY SUCCEEDED IN PRONOUNCING JUDGEMENT UPON UR SELF. THESE WORD U WROTE HAVE NOT ONLY PLACED A SEAL ON UR LIFE BUT HAVE DESTABILIZED THE FAITH OF MANY , AND IT IS BETTER TO HAVE A MILLSTONE TIED ROUND UR NECK AND BE CASTED INTO THE SEA THAN TO CAUSE ANOTHER TO SIN. Politics / Thousands To March In Johannesburg Against Xenophobia by raphok1(m): 2:57pm On Apr 23, 2015
People have begun gathering at the Peter Roos
Park in Park Town, Johannesburg, in preparation
for a march to the Mary Fitzgerald Square, against
the scourge of xenophobia which has plagued the
country.
More than 30 000 people are expected to be part
of the march. The xenophobic attacks began in
townships around Durban about three weeks ago
and spread to Gauteng. At least seven people
have been killed and thousands displaced.
Bus loads of people from all across the province
are gathering in their numbers, as they prepare to
march through the streets of Johannesburg in a
spirit of unity and to show solidarity with foreign
nationals.
Gauteng Premier David Makhura along with
members of the provincial legislature are expected
to lead the march The march has been organised
by representatives from social justice networks,
trade unions and non governmental organisations.

Politics / Re: “south Africans Are Not Xenophobic,” – President Jacob Zuma by raphok1(m): 2:47pm On Apr 23, 2015
Eya i pity the poor Presido. But South Africans are Xenophobic. That's the fact.
Politics / “south Africans Are Not Xenophobic,” – President Jacob Zuma by raphok1(m): 2:44pm On Apr 23, 2015
President Jacob Zuma has pledged to tackle anti-
migrant sentiment in South Africa and to address
deep-rooted problems behind the attacks. “South
Africans are not xenophobic,” he said Wednesday.
“If we don’t deal with the underlying issues, it will
come back.”
Zuma gave few details of government plans, but
said the violence was driven by “criminal
elements” as well as friction between foreigners
and locals.
However, several thousand demonstrators marched
through central Johannesburg on Thursday to
protest against a spate of deadly attacks on
immigrants, after further raids by the authorities on
suspected gang hideouts.
Watched by police, crowds sang songs
denouncing xenophobia and carried banners that
read “We are all Africans” as migrant workers
crowded balconies, shouting their support.
“This march sends an important message to the
world, to Africans,” David Makhura, premier of
Gauteng province of which Johannesburg is the
capital, told the demonstrators. “We are going to
defeat xenophobia like we defeated apartheid.
“We are here to make sure that South Africa is a
country of peace for all.” Soldiers were deployed in
Johannesburg this week to aid police in operations
against hostels housing South African men who
are accused of targeting migrants from Zimbabwe,
Malawi, Mozambique and other African countries.
At least seven people have been killed in three
weeks of unrest that have revived memories of
xenophobic bloodshed in 2008, when 62 people
were killed. “I am here to make a stand, to say
‘Not in my name’,” Zain Mayet, 20, one of the
marchers, told AFP.
“Keeping quiet makes me as guilty as those who
are committing violence. “We are here to
demonstrate that not everyone in South Africa is a
criminal who attacks foreign nationals.” UN chief
Ban Ki-moon condemned the violence and called
for “all efforts” to be made to avoid future attacks.
“He welcomes the public expressions of the many
South Africans who have been calling for peaceful
coexistence and harmony with foreign nationals,”
Ban’s spokesman said in a statement.
- Forced to flee -
Two people were arrested late Wednesday when
police, backed by soldiers, stormed a workers’
hostel in the city’s crowded Alexandra township. In
total, over 300 people have been detained. The
unrest erupted in the port city of Durban about
three weeks ago and later spread to Johannesburg,
the economic capital.
Many immigrants have been forced to flee their
homes and abandon their small shops as
marauding mobs hunted down foreigners at night.
“Over 5,000 people from Malawi, Zimbabwe,
Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo and
Burundi still seek refuge in displacement camps,”
Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without
Borders) said in a statement.
“Injured Malawian and Zimbabwean men told
medics that they are too afraid to openly seek
medical treatment for their wounds and fractures
for fear of further attack.” More than 20 years since
the end of apartheid, many South Africans believe
the lack of opportunities for young blacks and a
severe jobs shortage has led to deep frustration.
One Mozambican man was stabbed to death in
Alexandra township last Saturday in scenes that
provoked widespread outrage after the killing was
captured in graphic newspaper photographs.
Alexandra, where Nelson Mandela lived as a young
man, is one of the most troubled parts of
Johannesburg and is located next to the upmarket
business district of Sandton.
Regional relations have been strained by the
attacks, with Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique
organising for some worried citizens to return
home. Neighbouring Mozambique said more than
2,000 citizens had fled the violence. Five buses
also arrived back in Zimbabwe on Wednesday.

Politics / Buhari's Victory: Stock Market Gets A Boost by raphok1(m): 1:43pm On Apr 02, 2015
The Nigerian stock market recorded its
biggest rise in a day on Wednesday as investors
scrambled to buy stocks following the declaration
of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All
Progressive Congress as the winner of the
presidential election, Thisday reports.
At the close of trading, the market capitalisation
of the listed equities surged by N904bn or 8.4
per cent from N10.717tn on Tuesday to
N11.621tn, with the Nigerian Stock Exchange All-
Share Index also rising by 8.4 per cent or 2
635.32 basis points to close at 34 380.14 basis
points.
Also read: NSE market indices record further
depreciation
It was the biggest gain recorded by any
Exchange all over the world so far this year, the
closest being a five per cent gain by Chinese
stocks earlier in the year.
According to market operators and experts, the
peaceful conduct of the presidential election and,
particularly, the acceptance of the result by
Jonathan, which has set the stage for a peaceful
transition, are responsible for the record
performance of the stock market as it has greatly
boosted investor confidence.
Wednesday’s gains were spread across all the
sectors with all of the five NSE sectoral indices
surging as well.

Politics / Gunmen Shoot At Ekiti APC Members by raphok1(m): 11:14am On Apr 02, 2015
Crisis returned to Ekiti State on Wednesday as
gunmen attacked the All Progressives Congress
Secretariat and jubilant members of the party.
The APC members had just returned from the
streets of Ado Ekiti where they had gone to
celebrate the victory of the APC candidate, Maj.
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) in the Saturday’s
Presidential election.
The state Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun,
who addressed journalists in Ado Ekiti after the
attack said the gunmen came in three Hilux vans
with Government House registration number and
three men in police uniform sitting in the front.
Accusing Governor Ayodele Fayose and the Police
of complicity in the attack, he said the party had
earlier got information that plan was being
hatched by some top officials in the Government
House to prevent any celebration in the state.
He alleged that the gunmen were members of a
killer gang sent to disrupt the APC victory party
by the governor.
But Fayose said the attack was a self-sponsored
attack by the APC to make it look like an attack
from outside, urging the people to disregard the
allegations.
Olatubosun wondered why the hoodlums attacked
the secretariat unchallenged in the presence of a
detachment of police led by the Divisional Police
Officer of the Ologede Police Station, Ado Ekiti
that had provided security for the APC.
According to him, the gunmen brandishing guns,
cutlasses and axes, rained bullets on the
secretariat and destroyed no fewer than five cars
parked at the secretariat.
Olatunbosun mentioned Femi, Basiru, Ayo and
Opeyemi as the alleged leaders of the attack.
The intensity of the attack, he said, forced party
members and passers-by to scamper for safety.
“We had few members left when they came
because some of our teeming members who held
a peaceful victory procession were already leaving
before they came. They shot at our secretariat.
“We were aware that they were coming but we
never knew Governor Fayose could do anything
funny because of the mood of the nation, though,
we heard him boasting that he won’t allow
anyone to mark the victory of Buhari in Ekiti
State,” he said.
