Hello,
If you have completed your ACCA exams (including professional level), you will get the desired WES assessment of "a Canadian 4-year equivalent" degree. This you will get irrespective of whether you claimed exemptions using ICAN or not.
I personally claimed exemptions using ICAN for F1 to F9, and did only the professional level. My ACCA transcript was assessed as equivalent to "a Canadian 4-year Bachelor's degree".
So fear not.
CC: Realone2012NanaF: I don’t know about that but WES might just evaluate your ACCA Membership / Affiliate status favourably. Try it and see how it goes. |

I thought to share this from a post in the part 1 thread. I wouldn't know if its referenced in page 1. But if it's not, i think it could be helpful.
CC: Joo2018amindondee: Good day people,
Just to give an update which may be beneficial to anyone on passport expiry less than 6 months before travelling.
So my application was approved and i got all our passports and COPRs in January 2018. My passport was due to expire in May 2018. My spouse however, insisted i renew my passport before we travel because we did not know if we would be allowed to travel with less than six moths validity on my passport. I called Lufthansa and they do not seem to have a fulfilling response as they do not understand what an immigrant visa was and that it is better to have a validity above 6 months so as to avoid any hassles. I renewed my passport and wrote an email to Ottawa, Accra and LVO to inform them i would be renewing my visa. My thinking was that the visa would still be valid as with other visas i have experienced. The next day our CIC/Express Entry profile changed from Approved to "We are awaiting a decision....." and all the counterfoil information removed.
To my great surprise i received an email from LVO that all previously issued COPRs were cancelled and invalid, and we should send all documents (including all family members) back to Accra and wait for further instructions. We were all worried. We sent all the documents through DHL back to Accra and waited for further instructions. 2 days after i received the email requesting for us to pay $120CAD through the online platform for visa re-issue which i did immediately. Then the sudden silence from LVO starts; and we have 5 more weeks until our validity expires, no update on our account profile and no information from them for about 3 weeks and until today that our application on the profile now shows approved. New counterfoil issued and the old ones shown as invalid. |

Mhen so so sorry about this bro.
I know this can be very hurting especially after the long wait.
This is where you have to put your resilience to work... Get back on your feet and push again.
And pls keep us updated on the process.
I wish you a speedy PPR and look forward to meeting you in CA.
God bless!!xtosync: Hi there, So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.
This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke.
In 2017, I spent more than a month confused about the actual NOC code for me. A first search on google for NOC code for cybercafe manager will pop out 0631 -Restaurant and Food service Managers. This is totally not what we are as cybercafe operators in general. so I spent quite a reasonable amount of time on the net and settled for NOC 0213 which had Computer and other related service manager as a sub in the title group. This seems more appropriate to me for my job title.
With description help from wonderful friends, the following are a basic summary of what I do:
Own and run a cybercafe offer general computer services such as printing, scanning, typesetting some software installation sales of computers and its accessories etc give basic computer lessons to customers/clients have 2 employees also offer computer related services to clients as per contracts to set up their cafe, computer units/rooms and logistics.
Over the years as owner and manager of the cybercafé the following are specific responsibilities and duties performed:
• Develop action plans and procedures for my team performance to meet operational goals and organizational objectives. • Develop strategic and operational plans for managing, execution and measuring results of the cyber centre.
• Perform research on new business ventures and proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement of the business.
• Determine the budget and periodic expenditures of the business centre.
• Occasionally conduct meetings with clients to discuss system specs, performance, needs, costs and timelines.
• Execute contract jobs that involve procurement and supply of stationeries, computers and its peripherals
• Manage project teams of variable skill sets and size dependant on project scope.
• Hire, train and guide store employees in delivering excellent customer service.
• Assign rules and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness.
• Monitor and manage store staff/personnel by regularly communicating and conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance.
• Ensure that the office and environment is maintained according to proper sanitation and cleaning standards thereby making it safe and inviting for customers.
• Assist customers when they have trouble or questions using computer systems and application software
• Perform software installations, system maintenance, backups and networking, troubleshooting on office and clients computers.
• Provide services such as printing, scanning, internet, online registrations, downloading and other computer related operations.
• Ensure that machineries, computers and other equipments are in good working condition.
• Keep accurate records of system performance, logs and inventories of the business centre
• Set Administrative rights on computer systems, program tickets and number of minutes or hours customers use the computer or internet on networked computers.
• Banking and maintaining accounting databases by entering data using computer application software
• Preparing lesson notes for students, training and teaching student/clients on the use of computers and its applications.
• Ensure excellent customer care.
Went to interview in Accra and was told that I choose the wrong NOC.
So I want you guys to help me find the right NOC for someone that own and operate a cybercafe. Its quite heavy on me, I must confess, but I am taking it in like a man. Just incase I can reapply please someone should help me with the right NOC for a Cybercafe Manager/Owner.
5, 6, 7 or more heads are better than 1 or 2.
This is not the testimony I was hoping to drop after a year and 6 months wait, but a lesson for one is a lesson for many. Never too late to do the right thing.
special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this. |
