Wow!! You mean it?? I guess that's because of the pandemic. It's good to know that scripts are still being marked since the time we started it. I know it would serve as a means of encouraging people yet to get their PPR. Part 1 is still well updated i can see too. Amazing!!

Mamaroon:

Prof.....no scripts have been marked in almost 6 months! We miss PPR. Trust Canada is treating you well.

If you need information on how to convert from CPA BC to CPA Ontario, I am your go to guy. I converted mine not too long ago.

It is a very seamless process that takes less than 1 month. Infact 3 weeks or lesser depending on the response rate.

Congratulations! Please to the bolded, does it mean that I can go to the airport and check in a day before my departure day? Kindly explain . Thanks

Lol... Thanks so much oo.. Me is single ooo... unless u get person for mee grin grin grin

For my sanity, I completely stopped converting mbok before it weighs me down. I think the reason why i converted then was because i used my naira mastercard for my Uber. SO the debit was really serious.

So far I am getting settled in....

Thanks once again for the kind wishes

Welcome prof raphrulz. I always thought you were a family man.

Lol@flight to heaven. That flight long sha, who no go no know.

At taxi that cost 10k, that's less than 50 dollars. Uber's can easily cost 30 dollars so it wasn't that expensive. Stop converting prices to naira otherwise you go kolo.

May the land favor you.

My Landing Story
I got my PPR in March 2019 after more than a 5-month wait. It was a very tiring experience, I must acknowledge. Well, I sent my documents and passport the next day to Accra through the usual channel. I was overly excited but knew that the real work had just begun.
Immediately, I decided to book my flight through Ethiopian airline for July 19th after considering the best prices and taking into consideration my notice period at the office. After much considerations, I decided to change my flight date to an earlier date (July 13th) because of some commitments on the 19th which I really did not want to affect my traveling date. Mind you, I did all these before my COPR arrived because if I had waited, I probably wouldn’t have gotten the best of prices as my scheduled flying date was at the peak of summer.

So, in preparation for my exit, I bought a hand scale from Jumia, which happened to be very helpful as it gave me very reliable measurements. I decided to start packing gradually about 2 weeks before. Moved my stuffs from my house to parents, gave out stuffs and sold things. I remembered being confused about whether to take my suits or not…. Thank God I did ooo because it has been very helpful to me so far.
P.S: Please take your important wears to avoid expending very early when you land.
Well, while packing, I realized that my luggage was way past the required size. I got confused because I really wanted to carry food stuffs but did not want to cargo. Two days before my trip, I had to perform a cost benefit analysis of paying for extra luggage on my flight or sending stuffs via cargo. When I calculated the price for excess luggage on the airline, I did not need anybody to tell me to re-strategize. Thank God I had already bought a strong GMG bag from the guy I bought my light weight bags, Musibau.
I went to Sahcol a day before my trip to cargo, I had budgeted a maximum spend of N75k for 45 kg. I weighed from home and found out that the weight was exactly 45kg including my palm oil. However, I had failed to incorporate the weight of the packaging materials and the crates for the oil. Finally, my most dreaded fear became a reality. My stuffs became overweight by about 6 kg due to the additional packaging. I insisted that they unpacked while I removed some stuffs for it to fall within my acceptable limit.

Fast track to July 13th, I left my family apartment at Ikeja around 10:00am for my flight of 1:40pm. I had checked in a day before, so all I needed to do was weigh my bags and check them in again. As I earlier mentioned, my measuring scale was very reliable and I barely had any back and forth at the airport. I went ahead to bubble wrap my 2 bags at N1k each, as I did not lock the bags and didn’t want them torn either. When I was done, I went ahead to snap pictures with family before bidding my farewell. I did all necessary documentation and in no time boarded the plane.
The first leg to Ethiopia was pretty smooth and not stressful. I stuck to rice and chicken throughout and sat near the aisle for easy movement and to enable me stretch my legs easily. Inflight entertainment was ok although I realized that the movies were all old movies. Met my able brother Teecan on the flight too…(Beautiful family you got bro)

The second leg na where person wan take collapse oo… Flight just long like say we dey go heaven. Well, fast forward to Sunday 8:00am (1:00pm naija time) we touched down YYZ. Proceeded with landing formalities, CBSA and Immigration… few questions asked if I had more than US$10k. Meanwhile in the plane, I had ticked the checkbox on the declaration form given to us that I came in with nuts and veggies. When I got to customs, after informing them I had goods to follow which included some foodstuffs, I was directed to an inner room for clearance. I got in there and saw how those customs guys were drilling people ooo… na him I begin dey pray for my mind o. Well, it got to my turn and I immediately gave the officer my Goods Accompanying and Goods to Follow (GTF) sheet (which I prepared on excel before leaving naija). He was happy to see it, as though I had made his work easier. Immediately he saw my goods to follow, he asked me where I was coming from and I responded. He immediately asked me why I was bringing food to the country when there was a lot of food in Canada… omo I gats give am one better explanation ooo make dem no thrash my stuffs oo. Well, he was satisfied with my response, stamped it, made a copy and gave me one with a blue colored form to pick up. Eventually, my bags were not searched at all.
I then moved to my already secured Airbnb directly from the airport with an Uber that almost finished me with price (They charged me N10k + for a trip less than 25 minutes). However, the driver was very nice and told me quite a number of things about Canada and his own immigration experience.

So far so good, it’s been fine here, the weather has been warm, I have done my SIN at Service Canada on Monday (considering the fact that I landed on Sunday), opened bank accounts, registered with a phone network provider and stuffs. This was after I had missed my way like twice when using the buses here oo
But all glory to God for speed and making all fall in place. My apologies for the very long story. I wish everyone still in the process divine speed and safe trip into Canada.
God bless you.
It has finally ended in praise!

Hello Fam,

It's good to see that the ministry is still moving well.

Well, I noted somethings which have to be addressed:

1. People keep spamming the thread with email addresses and personal contact details. Please, do not forget that this is a public forum and your personal details could be used for unauthorized purposes. Besides, it doesn't help the looks of the thread.

2. Too many newbies keep asking very similar questions again and again. The questions are so repetitive that it would take you just one or 2 pages scroll to see a repetition of the questions. Like i always advice people (especially those more knowledgeable in the process), answering questions on this platform is never a competition. Try and redirect people to page 1. It is there for a purpose. As long as people keep responding to repeated questions again and again... newbies would keep asking again and again.

Now let me tell you the implication of this.... Apart from the thread being untidy, people would find it very difficult to find some key information because those kinda valuable information would be pushed back to previous threads. This is currently inevitable because of the speed at which the thread is currently moving at.

Furthermore, we need to use the platform to encourage people to research themselves even before asking. I saw someone that just posted a question on whether writing BCS would earn him/her extra points despite having masters... and few pages backward, this answer had been provided. Besides, information such as this are very basic.

People should not wait for Topsmamen, ladymarshall, Joo, Ifeoma77 and all to respond before they get their issues sorted. Please, research yourself.... after all DIY is what we preach here.Besides, once you get your PPR, start preparing to land or you land... you would find it really difficult to keep up with this thread.

I hope we do our best to correct this anomaly.

I wish everyone hoping for one thing or the other success in advance.

Good Luck!

Landing Gist
I practically worked till the last day so my packing was stressful and inefficient. All my bags were overweight and I had an extra bag even after shedding as much as I possibly could.
I was feeling like a gangster so I told my family to finish the goodbyes at home and then my dad dropped me off at the airport and took off for work...

.
.

Landing was smooth. Immigration line was very short and I got stamped in faster than light. No need to even go and sit anywhere to wait for COPR to be prepared, while standing there, the officer just went bam bam bam, welcome to Canada, next!
I got my SIN at the airport, went to pick my plenty bags and sashayed into the maple land.
