"we" is plural so he has to use "us" cos thats plural also!!! or u expecting him to use mehuh
common man, he aint talking of himself alone here. . . . any1 who has listened to his album and mixtape will have heard sumtn like loopy records, thats the name of his crew and thats the "we" and "us" he is talking about

No disrespect but honestly, your asking this question again ultimately defeats the purpose of ur name as rapjunkie because if you need all these explanations for you to get these simple lines then u shud change ur name to rapnovice or something haba, lol

Im not going to waste anytime with the lyrics this time around, I going str8 to regular english expressions. If you don't get it afterwards, u r on your own

Example 1: A child does something out of character that is stupid and an adult wants to scold him/her, the adult says "That was so stupid of you" Notice that the sentence is singular because it is referring to just one child.  The adult could also have said "That was so stupid" but to connect the stupidity of the action to the child, he/she adds the of you

Example 2: A group of friends wrestle their friend out of the mouth of a lion, and someone was reporting on the character it took to do that, the person can say, "That was very brave of them" here again, u notice the plurality because it refers to more than one person

That is as far as Im going to go regarding those particular lyrics, I hope you get it now. safe
@tosinaded

Ur squiggle above means absolutely nothing . . . . . . sub/plural/sub e.t.c    which confirms to  me that university degrees must now be for sale in naija since u have graduated and are presumably doing NYSC  in Borno state . . . . . . i wonder why they posted u so far away?

@Ez-E

The insertion of 'Iraq of us' was soley placed to rhyme with 'Barrack of us'. The initial parts of the rhymes make sense  HOWEVER, 'of us' was cynically placed to rhyme with octopus.

The terms 'Iraq of us' and 'barack of us' are meaningless. Have u ever heard or used  these terms EVER? More particularly the use of term 'Iraq of us'. The  rhyme should actually stop at Iraq ( and maybe something else afterwards) but 'of us' is only added to rhyme with the preceding bar with NO REGARD to whether it makes sense or not.  Apparently, this is wordplay!!! The rationale you guys seem to spout is as long as 85% of the line makes sense and the rest rhymes, its ALL GOOD!

Well, its not good enough for me. There is no point trying to appear smarter than u really are because it makes u look silly. Its not as great as u are trying to make out and frankly,  i'm quite surprised you actually took time to explain the BLEEDING PLAIN OBVIOUS!!!!. undecided
So Rapjunkie Im gonna try and explain this for u one last time

1.) We historic black boys so Barack of us
Barack Obama = Historic black man
So he is using Obama's first name Barack to qualify the characteristics of he and his camp as historic.

2.) And we don't giveS a damn (Saddam) so Iraq of us
There are two links in this line, first is to understand that Saddam is characterized as representing Iraq. And second is that Saddam/Iraq never gave a damn wat anyone else said. So where is he say "giveS a damn" it also reads out Saddam, and we have already established that Saddam never gave a damn and ran Iraq like he was the country.  So here also Iraq qualifies the character of not giving a damn, get it??
I understand all that . . . . . . . .  .historic black boys/obama . . . . . gives a damn/ saddam , but what is the relevance of adding the ' of us' in both lines if not to rhyme with octopus?

so i ask again . . . . . .  what does 'barack of us' and 'iraq of us' mean?
Music/Radio › Re: M.i.'s Emancipation - Should Mode9 And Ruggedman Hang Their Boots? by rapjunkie(m): 1:30am On May 30, 2009
Definitely u so-called hiphop heads who claim they are all over mode9's cipher and ish can't even understand somn right in ur faces so let me break it down for you wink

1.) Rappers talking smack, I ate (eight) limbs like an octopus
Ever heard the figurative expression, "rip ur limbs off/out" or "I'll eat you up" referring to destroying/murdering/defeating someone in a competitionhuh need I say morehuh

Now even literally an octopus wud so eat u up, thus he is saying he wud eat those rappers talking smack, still don't get ithuh

2.) We historic black boys so Barack of us
It baffles shocked me that pple don't get this one sha,  anyways, Barack Obama is historic as the first African American President of America, hence he is  saying he and his camp (Choc City, Loopy) are equally historic (30000 copies sold in 30 minutes shit, lol grin), so it's not there just cos it rhymes with Iraq

3.) And we don't giveS a damn (Saddam) so Iraq of us
In case you forgot, Saddam Hussein was the president of Iraq and he did not give a damn what the rest of the world said, he did wat he wanted to do when he wanted to do it, hope u get it now, cos I cannot dumb it down any further ooo

All ye MI bashes just picked the wrong song to go after sha, there are more correct lyrics in the song sef, but I'll not get into all of it cos this wud be long
WOW!! I can't believe u took the time to break down these lyrics. You are a brainbox.

BUT can you please confirm again what (1) 'Iraq of us' and (2) 'Barack of us' mean huhhuh?

Thanks for your help

Do I HAVE 2 say anything? huh huh,

Ok. my main prob is that he seems to have jumped on the 'let's diss ruggedman' bandwagon. Is Rugged not an 'ibo boy'? too. Wetin Rugged do am?

Then to gain acceptance in Lagos, Mr 'Okwa dat ibo boy' totally sells out on that Terry G song.

That's my prob with illbliss. I started off liking him but i don't understand who he is at the moment.

Keep them comments coming, as far as am concerned ill bliss has taken the rap scene in Nigeria to a whole new level, rap like modern audio visual technology is going H.D.(high definition) and its good to know that ill bliss has brought that era right down to our doorsteps, y'äll go get the album.
You must be high on Terry G's drugs

How can illbliss have taken the rap scene to a whole new level? Are u sh*tting me? Illbliss is at best an average rapper. His skills are basic and nothing to write home about. He disses Ruggedman but ruggedman is a much better rapper than him.

Why doesnt he diss Mode9 or M.I?, punk ass biggie wanne be.

Illbliss is a confused 'ibo boy', who sings in yoruba because he wants to get acceptance at any cost even if it means that he makes no sense

Its a rubbish 'diss' track if i can even call it that.

Illbliss has to be one of the most overated confused hypocritial rappers in the game. How can the so called 'ibo boy' be a better rapper than Ruggedman?

Huey:
Shakar needs no contract to win if and when he decides to take this to court of law - a simple statement of account showing that he transfered the sum of one hundred thousand naira is enough,
A simple statement of account will not show WHAT the N100K was for.

Shakka needs a written contract containing the terms signed by both parties. If he doesnt have one, then it is will be difficult for him to prove his case.
Celebrities › Re: Terry G Plays Shakar 419. . . . >:( by rapjunkie(m): 2:45pm On May 27, 2009
In the music biz, you have to have a good reputation or things can get difficult very quickly. I hope Terry G can resolve all the controversy surrounding him these days before its too late.

I think he is smoking the same stuff that majek fashek was smoking because his apperance has visibly altered drastically within the last year
Celebrities › Re: Terry G Plays Shakar 419. . . . >:( by rapjunkie(m): 2:00pm On May 27, 2009
I've been reading this thread with great interest.

What i don't understand is how Shakka claims he didnt know that Terry G has a ' one size fits all' philosophy with his beat making.

As regads to what was actually agreed between them, then that will be determined by what is stated in the contract ,

Did I hear somebody say there is no written contract?

If there isnt that thats where there is a big problem.

There is huge difference between 'making a beat' and making a beat, inserting vocals, then mixing AND Mastering to have a complete song. If Terry G simply sent a beat when that wasnt the agreement then Shakka has a reason to be vexed.

However, If there ISN'T a contract then I DO NOT SUPPORT what Shakka is doing. There is no point complaining ON NL and facebook if he can't even prove his version of events is true. What will happen when Terry G says shakka is a liar and is just doing this to seek publicity?

If Terry G has already spent his time and effort to do the beat then Shakka has to take it. He cant just say ' Give me my money back' , like we are in Tesco supermarket or something!!, the best Shakka should hope for is that Terry G inserts the vocals, mixes and masters the track.
Music/Radio › Re: Modenine Going Commercial, On Aya Min Ja(idi Nla) Remix By Lala by rapjunkie(m): 4:07pm On May 22, 2009
Does this song actually exist?

And why does it mean that Mode is selling out if he was on the song? If Mode switches his flow to 100% pidgin then he HAS sold out because he is always going on about doing 'real hip hop' which presumably is not done in pidgin.

Anything else is fine.

@DBR

Everybody knows that 'wild like a baboon under the moon' is a Rugged line. The baboontunde jibe was made to hit back at Mode for the 'deathblow' diss.

Also the timbaland a.k.a 'Mode is broke' jibe seems to be the one that affects Mode fans the most so Rugged fans keep using it to great effect.

I don't think he is broke ( why should he be?) but its a way of getting back at him i guess
