Had a listen to 'crumping' ' funky gbedu' and ' bounce and strings' the drum programming isn't that bad but the placing of your instruments seem to be out of time. Also u need more instruments ( VST's) to increase your possibilities and enrichen the sound. 30- 40 secs doesn't give enough time to judge the beat but they are sounding very amateur at the moment. So keep working my friend and try to get some decent kit. |
@moonstone Did i see my name in ur post? Are my eyes decieving me? Better take ur time o! I dont discriminate and i'm not sexist which means i will rush u on NL like u stole my money. Mind ur biz and keep my name out of ur posts. |
Wordsmith:. . .errrrrr . . . . . . .wordsmith, where are going with that silly statement? |
My prohecy is coming true . . . . . all we need now is to get ruggedman to join them and form the super group ' 'Baboons under the moon' @ Khanye & Java & Dammiecool Just joking guys, before you jump on my head ![]() |
Good news for naija hip hop. They will definitely bring out the best in each other. Modenine could do with some of MI's heat right now and MI could do with some of Modenine's credibility. All in all, the winners are us, the naija hip hop fans. Looking forward to it already. |
wtf? |
@coolguyz Your analysis is as cool as your name. ![]() I dont mind MI. . . . . .just don't agree that he is the best rapper in naija. Also amuses me how people fall prey to 'crowd mentality' ![]() Call me hater . . . . . . i love it!!! |
lalaboi:Don't we? Great minds huh? Nice to know u care lalaboi. |
Utali:I've had a million discussions on this very topic over many blogs in the past. @ Utali I agree with u 100% |
@javalove u r an extremly boring dude. Jeeeez!!! Almost every single one of your posts on NL refers to Mode9. Do you have no other contribution to make apart from your mode9 spamming? ![]() |
cabali:are you in love with me cabili? Why u dey mention my name anyhow? did you see me talk to sauron? have you read this thread? if i see my name for your post again you go hear am |
I wonder!! People are very quick to dismiss opinions when they don't have any ![]() @Atown thanks for the thoughtful insight @Cabali cabali:its good to see how ur mind actually works intelligent reasoning on full show ![]() ' . . . . no significance to explain it' ![]() the words 'he is a dummy' suddenly rush to mind. . . . . . . . . . . ![]() |
Yvonne Maha!! That's it!! Memories. She also had this song called ' don't treat me like a child' I still know the lyrics and melody of the song ( shame!! ) . . . . . I can see my street cred on NL quickly going down the plug hole. ![]() Bamsyle, you certainly know your naija music. I take off my cap to you African Oyinbo. . . . .R I P she was definitely a source of inspiration to people who wanted to think outside the box Mandy Brown . . . .she was cool too. Did a great cover of 'taxi driver'. I think her album did quite well at the time. Back to the present day I saw a kween video the other day and I laughed so much it hurt. It's the one where she has water poured on her head for presumably a ' sexy scene' and she is obviously choking while trying to get through the lyrics and look sexy and gyrate against a wall at the same time. Do you see what Shakira and Beyonce have caused? Embarrassing!! She needs to put more work in her videos than just turning up with an oversized afro. I think Omawunmi could go far but needs the right songs. She has one of the best voices in Naija at the moment. |
Bonjeh:I don't agree. There was problem like this in the UK when British MC's all had american accents in the 90's. Does anyone remember phoebe 1 or iceberg slim? Anyways, through garage and grime they discovered their voices and when you hear a UK hip hop act today you instantly know where they are from. The problem with our girls at the moment is that their ' americana' accents are TOO thick and it just reeks of copy, copy. That's why i continue to say that there is massive void awaiting to be filled by the first 'real' naija female MC. When that happens none of you will remember any of these broads currently making noise with no albums. |
wanville:Thats the kind of overhype that gets my back up ![]() |
All these queens of rap with no albums sef!!! and why they all sound like they from Brooklyn? Sasha is the undisputed queen because she has had a hit record plus an album to her name. |
I beg, he should leave singing for Banky W & Co. Did you listen to shobodedobobedobo or whatever its called? . . . . I rest my case |
They should rename this thread to: 'Sauron verses ELRazur Part 1: The fight to the death ' Thanks guys for keeping NL interesting |
@ Bamsyle whats the name of the girl who sang a cover of ' taxi driver' ? was it Mandy something? she was hot!! and Tina Onwudiwe, who was a diva without doubt also, whats the name of the young girl who sang ' if i had the wings of a dove' in the 80's i can't remember her name but she was very popular at the time. i wonder what happened to her? |
Funny enough, my inlaw just gave me Jenifa 1 & 2 to watch and said it is one of the best films in naija at the moment. I will watch it 2nite and give my verdict later. I need to see what all the fuss is about |
great track . . one of killz better efforts. he should stick to rapping and forget all the crappy singing stuff hes been doing recently |
I thought this guy sold 30,000 in 30 mins? Obviously not in the East then! Wow!! From the online hype about this guy you would never imagine that this could happen to him So where is he selling his album? Only in lagos ? |
I don't know much about diva's BUT We are yet to produce a decent female rapper because all of them at the moment rap with an annoying deep american accent . . . . . . . . . . . . .and thats sasha and da trybes fault. The game is crying out for an original naija female MC |
@all the anti olu maintain posters Olu maintain has produced many hits in naija. Are u guys saying that the majority of the naija population who actually buy music are also wack? |
who is mr olu? never heard of him do you mean olu maintain? |
eldee:what does rare like assets mean?
Mode-9 fans are jealous of M.I. All of a sudden, Mode-9 is now 2nd best to what most of his fans deludedly love him for.
Mode 9 is second best to MI? Maybe on nairaland but not in the real world my friend. |
M.I's lyrics are getting worse! Did he think before he wrote this?
am a genetical strand am rear(rare) like asses -M.I
wow! These lines are in the wrong thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-239274.0.html |
read the bolded part again and stop being a clown
Yes Tosin, the marketers will not sell the CD's to individual people but will simply look at them and admire them. That is why they are successful business men You're a real brainbox tosin. U think of everything. @ElRazur ElRazur:everybody knows that there is no soundscan system in Naija, so you are really stating the obvious. At present it is impossible to tell exactly how many copies an album has sold but you can have a fair approximation. There are other indicators and one of them are the orders taken from distributors. |
there is a big difference between the sony ps3 story and this. when marketers have paid for the goods it is a sale. they don't get their money back. Naija has an enormous population and those CD's will eventually be sold. |
either which way, selling a million copies in naija dsnt mean ur album has gotn to a million hands YET! All it means is uve bn able to distribute it 2 various marketers and uve gotn ur money!
Do u think the marketers will eat the CD's? ![]() Not sure what ur point is |
this is some funny sh*t!!! ![]() |
