Sometimes I just hate being smart. Being smart, getting A's in school will make you top your class and later provide you with a decent to very lucrative job that's just going to assure your future. You won't be poor and you'll live a comfortable life. But sometimes, I just can't help but wonder at how boring and mundane everything eventually becomes.

On the other hand, not getting all the A's and not topping your class will throw you out there, challenge you to dream big and force you to come up with a living that could probably break bounds, making you into a household name. Linda Ikeji, Toke Makinwa, Folorunsho Alakija, Oprah, these are people who certainly didn't get the best grades in school or studied the best courses at university, yet they shape and influence the polity more than the best graduating student in Electrical Engineering from the set 1985 in Unilag would ever do. And who's that best graduating student anways? I bet no one knows today!

I so hate being smart! I wish I was a regular one that would have had to create something for herself.

Nice write up @ Teempakguy. Marie curie was a great woman. she died due to the large amount of radiation in her body. she kept working and today we all have benefited from her work.

just like someone mentioned, they are many Nigerian female scientists that should make that list. one that am very sure is Prof.F.N.Okeke a laureate. she won a prize in 2014 as one of the five world best female scientists, which her work on ionosphere got her. mayhaps the topic isn't general but anyone in atmospheric physics should know about the ionosphere and her works.

Also, in the area of bioenergy, Dr. Mrs Ezekoye is doing great, her research has been published in a high impact journals.

There's no bloody way this is going to ever work. you know why?

because at that point, the limbic system is dominant. the part of the brain that controls the basest desires of humans, is in full force. and when this is happening, the cerebral cortex cannot do anything. the order of priority is clear, when the limbic system wants something, the cortex cannot override it.

so at that point, philosophizing about what Jesus is thinking would be totally pointless. he won't even be able to reach a conclusion as the limbic system continues to bombard the mind with urges that cannot be overcome by logic or reasoning.

this is probably why rapists and murders blame the devil for their actions. they are yet to realize that the real culprit is their own malfunctioning limbic system.
