ultron:I did not see where he mentioned your name. Meanwhile.... Ultron Ultron Ultron Ultron Ultron Ultron Go and buy me garri 1 Kongo and two stick sweets for yourself. |
Guykhena:Epic! |
Guykhena:Joker is one of the biggest pyschopaths in the comic world, not to talk of his other 'charming' characteristics. Most importantly, he is a complete antagonist to Batman, so abeg Joker is a class of his own, even when you refer to villains without powers. |
Guykhena:I still like those who can inflict serious damage but am not blown away by them- especially villains without super-powers. At least make the hero struggle small. |
Guykhena:See, Crossbones may not actually get my attention. My Villain selection is weird; having the likes of Joker, Ultron (due to Stark's hand in its creation) Uchiha Madara (in Naruto- if you the cartoon),Magneto, I don't see Crossbones in that category. He may actually impress me though. |
Guykhena:So Crossbones is just a mercenary! Oh Lord! How boring! Anyway will watch out for more. |
Johnrake69:Okay, where is ARM? Cos am in Osun state @ d moment (Ile-Ife to be precise). Moreover do I need to open a bank account with you guys? |
A Nigerian "Christian" dance is simple: clap once, move an inch to the left, two inches to your right while moving your elbows up and down and then clap again! Lol. |
Guykhena:I saw a cartoon that had someone that looked like Crossbones but was called Taskmaster, was confused but thought maybe they were the same. Check out Captain America and Iron-Man: Heroes united, you will see what am saying. I may be wrong tho. And from the cartoon and what I know of Crossbones, you are right, they are totally different Xters. |
Lyoncrescent:You missed some of my points 1. I talked about online popularity (the one that really matters here). Let me use the example of Adele's Hello: it was a good song but you can't say it is as good as some of the songs she yet look at the impact it made. If Lil Kesh should try that we all know how it will go ( the impact won't be strong). You can mention Live Concerts that Olamide did and I won't argue with that, but that's not the highest level. That's my point with the Street thing. How many International events do you see Olamide go around and sing? Would he be reckoned with if Pepsi is doing a song with some of the best singers in this World? Locally, Olamide may have more standing than Asa for example, but Internationally the reverse is the case. True, if we look at the hits Lil Kesh made, he should be there or losing it closely, but this was always about online voting and I still maintain that YBNL's presence online was not strong enough, simple. All those shouting LAWMA, ask them how many of them voted at all. I know what am bringing on here. Its not just about the concerts or how rich he is or even the Headies, its about YBNL moving from just production to efficiency on the International stage simple! Ade Gold only released two songs that made acclaim, yet he walked away with Alternative Award in a year when Asa released an Album in which most of the songs will beat what he released, so why make it look like anyone rigged it? I am not saying that online voting cannot be rigged, but it does not mean that all online competitions are rigged and I believe the Headies was not rigged, it just showed how weak they are online and internationally. 2. If you understand point 1, you can't bring up Point 2. Point 2 can be brought up if any panel of judges was the deciding factor, but when fans are voting, emotions and favoritism always becomes first. Reekado had more online fans who were ready to vote for him that how I see it. 4. I did not understand what you are saying here! I was not talking of how rich anyone was. How is online presence linked to money? Is everyone who has Online presence rich? Does Omojunwa's online presence make him half as rich as Dangote? I am saying that YBNL needs to go more internationally ( hopefully, they will do so with Adekunle Gold), that was my point and online presence counts a lot! The likes of phyno and co can't dream of winning any international online competition or gaining that much grounds internationally with their current state. Its that simple. If the masses like Olamide and his songs, that's secondary. If Fashola came during his child naming ceremony, its secondary. The fact is simple: there are levels that YBNL can never reach with their current online presence. |
Lexxyfund:Really? Winning a local award and winning BET awards or MOBO awards are not the same, the levels are completely different. I said you should grow up because you are hating @ Don Jazzy ( that's how most of you Olamide's fans have been doing), while I don't hate on Olamide. I simply asked him to upgrade and you start saying its trash, whose's being dumb with that? |
Guykhena:Hahahahaha First with the Cap America ish, I had watched what was supposed to be the first trailer and Taskmaster was firing at Cap, so me not seeing him there was..... Surprising. I was not expecting an all brawl fight, but Iron-man on one knee while Cap and Bucky were giving him punches was not pretty on one of my best Comic Xters, so I had to protest( not Olamide style sha). Then the Xmen, well I really loved Xmen before the X-men: First Class came out and did not love it that much after, so my expectations are dropped. The fact that Hally Berry is not Storm anymore and Wolverine seems not to have any many role killed a lot of enthusiasm for me, so the Trailer did make it a bit better for me. |
jaymejate:Question: would he have stood for Ade Gold if he lost? I doubt it. Moreover am not explicitly against him standing for Lil Kesh but am against him for making it look like the awards was biased( if you don't understand online dynamics, you won't see why Lil Kesh lost). Someone has written an article about Don Jazzy so I won't do that, though what the Don did was totally uncool and kinda made him st*pid and classless. |
Lexxyfund:As usual, Olamide fans can't see the truth. Please grow up and make valid contributions, all these LAWMA talk won't make you any smarter. |

Olamide's actions at the Headies was nothing sort of shameful, it is true he has apologized but it removes little from what his outburst says about his character and label's brand. 1. YBNL is not a strong brand online or internationally: the Headies was known to be an online awards in which fans voted for their favorites(since favoritism cannot be removed from the voting exercise). Since that was the case, it should have been glaring that if Olamide could not raise enough votes for Lil Kesh to win the next rated, then YBNL is not ready to step up their game. If their 'street' rule, then I challenge Olamide to release a song that will make waves in Itunes or will get international success. He should face it, he is still just a local Champion. 2. He may be fairly biased against Adekunle Gold: this is more of probability but if I was Adekunle, I would have felt a bit miffed that he could not even spare a thought for my award, instead used that chance to create an unnecessary feud. This begs the question: if Lil Kesh won next rated but Adekunle lost Best Alternative, would Olamide stand and defend Adekunle? Looks like no to me. 3. He is a sore loser: what happened was painful( at least to him and his fans, I share no sympathy for them), but considering that Adekunle Gold also won in a category I felt had better contenders than him ( e.g. Bez and Asa- though Asa is more of soul), his argument of the Headies been flawed due to Lil Kesh loss is kinda awkward if not totally out of place. In the light of this thought, I would if Bez should not have felt angered that Ade Gold, who showed up at the latter part of the calendar year should win Alternative and not even next rated( Adekunle just entered limelight this year too- kinda unfair). 4.YBNL needs to step up their online presence: Street is enough to make you rich through music, its enough to win some awards, but to really make it a strong brand internationally, it needs to appeal to the larger crowd. Frankly, I hardly see any reason I should listen to the noise which Olamide and his bunch of hustlers make in their songs( which they called rap). I guess that am just one of the many who think so as well. The international appeal is what separates the likes of 2face, Psquare, Don Jazzy and their club from the rest. Taking Don Jazzy for example, Reekado ( who beat Lil Kesh to the Next rated Award) already has his online fan club- Reekaddicts. D banj had the Kokolets, Mamalets and Babylets( okay, they were not online but they would have mattered if Dbanj was nominated for such role). Can anyone tell me which one Olamide or any of his YBNl members have? None. Apart from his personal twitter page and other basics (like facebook or website) does he have any other internet presence? No. These stuff matter in the real sense of it. Moreover, I feel that Olamide can evolve this 'street' music to something more appealing to others without losing its street feel. He needs to step up his label's Music culture if he really cares about street music (and not using it for purely money making purposes). All in all, he should sit down after this sore event and really think of the way forward for himself and his label members. Guys should make their opinions. Cc: Lalasticala, Seun, |
Guykhena:I have seen the trailers for both Captain America-Civil War and X-men Apocalyse. For Captain America, I knew it was going to boil down to a 'fist' fight between the Cap and Iron-man. However, I think the main surprise is that I don't see Taskmaster anywhere ( was the first trailer by Marvel a joke?) Cos I was made to believe that Taskmaster was at least a bit important in this movie. As for the plot, I could see where the issue comes in. Despite all that Cap has done, I felt that some people will still be afraid of him and those ones would have ran a campaign which would have led to the Reg. Stuff. Add the fact that Bucky is already a wanted fugitive (which despite the fact that he was brain-washed by Hydra still remains), then Captain's protection of him will always give the Registration thing more ground. Well, shame but I think Iron-man is holding back too much in the fight I saw (at least in the trailer), cos I know that he can do better than what they showed. Wonder where Nick Fury was during this time, he usually gives the Cap well-timed advice on issues like this. As for X-men Apocalypse, well, I am not surprised by all the changes- considering that in Days of Future Past, the time-line of the world changed (since Mystique did not to kill Dr Trask, killing any reason for the sentinels to exist). Am kind of disappointed with the Mohawk hairstyle of Storm (preferred her flowing hair). I won't judge her Xter until I see the film. Am curious about Psylocke, but I have to admit that they made Nightcrawler cute with his blue skin. Would like to see who will be in the new Xmen team and would love to see how Xavier will get bald, lol. In all, they did enough to make people hungry for the movie. |
moneyallowed:In X-men Evolution ( the cartoon), Storm was one of the Horsemen of Apocalyse, but she was with Xavier, Magneto and Mystique. That's all I can say about her involvement. |
moneyallowed:DC comics is not that terrible, the Justice League may still have more Xters than the ones you mentioned, yet I will agree that Marvel has more epic Heros/Villians. |
taiwoliu:Thanks a lot. |
taiwoliu:Thanks. I went to First Bank branch and enquired about the mutual funds option that was #5000 as minimum requirement. They directed me to one dude who was just talking about me dropping #5000 per month. I was just discouraged as I planned to drop #5k once and keep using it for a year or thereabouts. Maybe I will ask from another branch. |

Please I have a question for ernie4life: if a mutual investment fund require #5000 naira, does it mean I have to invest #5000 every month? Can I use the principal for the first month as a principal for the second month( using the same #5000 for different months) or am I to keep using fresh #5000? I asked from First Bank as per the #5000 option but I got confused about their answer. N.B: anyone who has used mutual funds before can also reply this question. |
I, Like many people woke up and saw all the messages written and put down over the Headies awards, specifically the award for the 'Next Rated'. Why many people may have found it shocking that Lil Kesh did not win it, Olamide took time to show his disgust by cursing on stage when Adekunle Gold won his award. Don Jazzy then gave a caustic reply to Olamide action by asking him to pick the car that followed the awards. First of all, both Olamide and Don Jazzy were irresponsible there. First of all, I believe that winning/losing awards does not ultimately determine your impact as an artiste, even though its part of the determinants. There has been cases when some artistes who made great impact musically in a calendar year were not recognized. I can't start mentioning names but am sure we can remember a few. Coming on stage and cursing is very childish and amateurish, no matter how painful it is. Its a person who lacks maturity that goes about screaming blue murder about awards. After all, Headies is an award which is won by voters. My question is this: does Lil Kesh have following? How many people actively follow Lil Kesh ( and not just listening to his songs, but following his movements, knowing when his songs are nominated for awards, etc). This thing counts in voting, especially online voting which is the basis of winning the award. Taking a cue from soccer, the BBC African Players Awards is an example of how the best from a calendar year may be ousted by voting; Jay Jay Okocha at a time (when he was still playing) defeated Samuel Eto'o and collected the award even though Eto'o had more achievements than him for that year. Did Eto'o go around and protest? No. Same thing if Yaya Toure loses the BBC African Players Award to Aubymaneg( forgive me if the spelling is wrong), it will be childish of him to scream blue murder. Coming back to the Headies, its clear that Lil Kesh lost due to lack of popularity( the one that counts) online; to be honest I rather expected either him or Kiss Daniels to win. Don Jazzy though could have be magnanimous in victory or at least could have kept quiet, if kids are crying about hunger in the house, its expected that the older ones pet them and try to understand or keep quiet. The jab about the car was so demeaning, Olamide is rich enough( I suppose) to provide Lil Kesh with a car. They are not broke people! That's the plain truth! On a final note, I would expect Olamide and Lil Kesh to learn at least something from the awards: Never underestimate the power of online fans when it comes to voting. The Mavin crew may not have deserved it but they pulled a fast one on everyone using that. They should not be the discouraged, but should build on a great 2015 and record more success. That's the way they can reply Headies. |
calddon:Guess you never heard the saying: 'Evil abounds when good people keep quiet'. Let him speak. |
nani667:That's prevy! |
Feraz:Am here! My subscription is back on. How is this room faring? |
thelifechangers:Sorry bro, I made a mistake and just realised it now.. Its 07038345297 not the other number. |
Lordabas:The reason they get bodyguards is so that they don't get mobbed by fans and that's when they come for public events. If they are not being bothered, they don't push people around. |
Truckpusher:Is it the Bottled Leopard? |
