A man identified as Ofofon and his girlfriend were arrested by the police on Tuesday after they allegedly killed the friend of the man’s girlfriend and sold her body parts.

The man, said to be from Ini Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State but residing at Afokang by Jebbs Street in Calabar South, killed and butchered the girl and delivered the body parts to buyers in the middle of the night.

"The man’s girlfriend, who sells at a chemist on Monday, lured one of her friends to stay the night in their house, and at night, the duo killed the girl and butchered her into parts. They thought the rain that had been trying to fall would fall and sweep the blood away, but the rain did not fall again, so in the morning, the blood from the pipe in the apartment leading to the drain was filled with blood, and neighbours suspected something terrible had happened and called the police”
Theresa, a resident of the area, told Vanguard.

She said a minibus picked up the man at about 2.00 am and brought him back that same night.

“He owns three mini buses. One of those buses came to pick him up at about 2.00 am, apparently to deliver the body parts, and brought him back,” the source stated

She said the girl claimed that the man locked her up in his room before killing the girl, but that could be just a statement to try to extricate herself from the murder.

“The man had three kids from the ex-wife, but the woman took the children and ran away a long time ago, which shows that the man had been into evil practice business for a long time”.

She said the man owns a provision shop up the same street and that “some time ago, he tried to use his mother for ritual, and the thing backfired. The mother then packed and went to live at State Avenue, a short distance away from the man, and does not visit him “

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, confirmed the arrest of the couple over suspicion of murder. Investigation is ongoing.

Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has sentenced a 50-year-old man, Ime Edet Akpan, to 21 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.

Akpan was convicted and sentenced on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Journalist and judiciary reporter, Harrison Essien, who disclosed this on Facebook said the convict, a married father of five, committed the act in his side chick's compound in Nung Udoe, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of the sate.

According to the journalist, Akpan, a keke operator from Akamba Nsukara Offot in Uyo Local Government Area of the State, went to visit his side chick and met her absence and decided to pounce on the minor while she was bathing.

“I held her and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and there was nobody in the compound, now that she is pregnant, I will take care of her until she put to birth," the convict said in court.

Imagine paying over 2 million every year to educate a child, and then saying the child should not return the favour in your old age is immoral and evil.
I have a friend that sold all he has to send his son to aviation school in the US. Today the son is working for Emirates Airlines in the UAE. The son has returned the favour of his father's investment over 5 times in 8 years. He has build a house for his father, bought him 2 brand new cars, and helped his business.

A circular has been passed by the Edo State Government to shut down schools in Edo North Senatorial District of the state, over terrorist attacks, as advised by the DSS.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS IN AKOKO EDO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The Edo State Government hereby announces for the information of the general public, the immediate closure of the following schools in Akoko Edo Local Government Area with immediate effect and until further notice:

1. Ososo Grammar School, Ososo
2. Ososo Comprehensive High School, Ososo
3. Makeke Secondary School, Makeke

This decision has been taken by Governor Monday Okpebholo as part of the government's commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, particularly students, teachers, and school personnel.

Consequently, all academic and non-academic activities in the affected schools are suspended with immediate effect, pending further directives from the government.

However, students currently sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be allowed access to their examination centres under strict security arrangements coordinated by school authorities, security agencies, and community leaders.

Principals of the affected schools are directed to:

- Ensure the safe and orderly release of students to their parents and guardians.
- Secure all school facilities, equipment, and property throughout the closure period.
- Maintain regular communication with the Edo State Government, the Chief Inspector of Education, and relevant security agencies.
Strictly comply with any additional directives issued by the government.

Parents, guardians, and residents of the affected communities are advised to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate fully with security agencies as efforts are intensified to maintain peace and ensure public safety.

The Edo State Government assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to address the situation and restore normal academic activities as soon as conditions permit.

Oftentimes, some men find it difficult to draw a clear line between lack of interest and poor communication in a woman. There are scenarios that should clearly show you that someone does not have any interest in you, and not that they possess poor communication skills.

Look at these:

SCENE 1

Me: Hello, how are you doing today?
Lady: Oh, I am doing great, and you?
Me: I am fine. I would have called you
last night, but I felt it was already
late.
Lady: I see. Anyway, I went to bed late
so I would have picked the call if
you had done that.
Me: It appears you sleep late. Why?
Lady: I am taking professional online
courses, and I usually take
classes before going to bed.

SCENE 2

Now, Scene 1 shows a lady who might not be necessarily skilled in conversation, but has some level of interest in me. Scene 2 shows a lady who might not necessarily lack communication skills, but has little or no interest in me.

These things cannot be forced. The signs are already there in the chats. You do not need a babalawo or prophet to tell you that the lady in Scene 2 does not have interest in you.

Sometimes, some men waste their time trying to make her communicate better by sending more and more messages, or calling her phone countless times. My brother, life is already hard for you, so why punish yourself further?

That lady you think lack communication skills is actually bombarding the DM of another man. She replies his chats with both compound and complex sentences that carry all the punctuation marks you can think of. Na your turn she for dey do that one-word response. That na because SHE IS NOT INTERESTED. Read the handwriting! Someone who has interest in you cannot be too tired, lazy, or busy to reply your chats in a mutual way.

Another one is sending WhatsApp messages to a lady you are trying to befriend, she reads your messages and does not respond. Then you begin to see her WhatsApp status updates, with memes, trivial stuffs, and birthday photos of friends. And my brother still dey shook head inside?

What You Should Do In Such Cases:

Go to your phone contacts. Check for her name, highlight it, and tap 'DELETE'. That solves it all. If she contacts you after some time, don't respond. It is not interest or attraction. It is a Plan B technique for survival
