You cannot invest more in religion and other trivial things, while neglecting education and you are expecting a strong economy. It does not work that way.

I have also noticed that all the countries that have strong economy and high standard of living possess a high literacy level. That goes a long way to show you the importance of education in a country. Observe closely and you will discover that the governments in countries with weak economy do not invest enough in education.

You are right, just like I stated. Nigeria's problems have nothing to do with population size. The United States has more than 300 million citizens. India and China each has a population that is above two billion.

Those countries may be poor, they have rich neighbors that positively impact their economy. They are like your neighbor with rich siblings abroad sending money home whereas Nigeria is like your rich uncle living above his means with many wives, concubines and lots of children and constant owambe parties.

Nigeria's problem goes beyond population size. Corruption, waste, and bad governance are some of the factors militating against the progress of the country.

With all the natural resources that Nigeria possesses, it is a shame that our minimum wage is as low as what it is. See the minimum wage in the poorest countries in Europe and Asia. The calculation is per month, and mind you, this is minimum wage. Meaning that there are people who earn way above these.

The natural resources found in these countries cannot be compared to what we have in Nigeria, but bad government, wicked rulers, corruption, and mismanagement will not allow this country to move forward.

Let us assume that you work in Bulgaria, and earn about 800 USD monthly, and decide to be sending 150 USD home to your parents, that is about N217k. How many young people working in Nigeria can comfortably send N217k to their old parents monthly?

A young woman who is believed to be mentally unstable has murdered her mother in Enugu. The incident took place on Wednesday 3rd December, 2025 in the Ugboewerem area of Trans-Ekulu, Enugu-East Local Government Area of Enugu State, at about 4pm.

When interrogated on why she killed her mother, she claimed that her mother refused to give her lunch to eat, then she tied her legs and used a cutlass to strike her on the head.

Many Nigerians do not pay attention to mental health. I believe that this young woman must have been showing signs of mental instability, but the issue was probably ignored. A young girl has been killed in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State by a man alleged to be her sugar daddy.

NATIONAL POST reports that the girl was murdered on Monday inside Bekay Pharmacy at the Total Roundabout in Nsukka, Enugu State.

The suspect, who is now in police net, identified as Emma Nwagwu, was said to have reportedly confronted her over accusations of infidelity.

According to a Facebook post by a social media influencer, Sen. Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, Nwagwu allegedly stormed into the pharmacy where the young girl was receiving treatment and accused her of being involved with another man, said to be a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in the Nsukka zone.

Ugwuanyi claimed the DPO was outside in his vehicle at the time of the incident.

Witnesses alleged that during the confrontation, Nwagwu smashed the victim’s head against a wall, causing her to collapse.

She reportedly died on the spot, with an angry crowd attempting to mob the suspect before security personnel intervened.

Ugwuanyi further alleged that Nwagwu attempted to attack the DPO, who then drew his service pistol, prompting bystanders to restrain both men.

The suspect was eventually taken to the Nsukka Police Area Command.

It's being alleged that the suspect is a known political operative who has worked with successive administrations in Nsukka Local Government.

Police authorities in Enugu are yet to release an official statement on the matter.

His death was announced in a Facebook post on Monday by Awuzie Frankline, a blogger and content creator, who also posted a video of Nwobu lying lifeless.

Although Frankline did not state the circumstances surrounding Nwobu’s alleged death, it was learned the post that the actor reportedly died some hours after clubbing in South Africa over the weekend.

‘Terrorists Control All The Bush Routes’: Freed Kwara Church Worshipper Details Bandits’ Grip On Kwara, Neighbouring States

One of the church members abducted during last week’s attack in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, has revealed that the terrorists who kidnapped them operate from a fully dominated enclave and possess detailed knowledge of bush routes across several states.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday shortly after regaining freedom, the victim recounted the terrifying moment heavily armed men stormed the church during an evening programme.

About 30 minutes into the programme, after everybody had settled, I suddenly heard gunshots,” the victim said.

“At first, I didn’t even recognise it. I thought it was just the sound of an electrical wire sparking. But within moments, they had surrounded the whole church.”

He added that worshippers were thrown into confusion as some people began to notice drops of blood on the floor during the chaos of the invasion.

The abducted members were taken deep into the forest, where the victim said they discovered that the attackers were operating in territory they had fully taken over.

“When we got there, we didn’t know it was a dominated area,” he said. “It was unimaginable. They boldly told us they are bandits and that nobody escapes from that place without being caught.”

According to him, the kidnappers openly bragged about their control and mastery of the terrain.

“From that place they have dominated, they know all the roads surrounding those bushes in Kwara and other states,” he said, stressing that the gang’s mobility and familiarity with forest routes make them even more dangerous.

Previously, SaharaReporters reported that Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had announced the release of 38 persons who were recently abducted in an attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area.

The freed abductees regained their freedom on Sunday, November 23, following several days of coordinated efforts by security forces and government representatives.

Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, disclosed the information in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to the statement, Governor AbdulRazaq attributed the successful rescue to the “hands-on approach” of President Bola Tinubu, who directed measures to secure the release.

“The President had called off his scheduled trip for the G20 Meeting in South Africa to attend to the breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States,” the statement said.

“He had also directed heightened security deployments to Kwara, in what underlined his firm commitment to the safety and well-being of our people and Nigerians as a whole.”

“The abductees were freed today, November 23,” the statement said.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the President, saying the release “is wholly due to his direct initiative.”

He also extended appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police, which deployed four new tactical teams to the state under the President’s directive.
