U sound scared stiff already! I dnt blame u,bt here's what u need to do:
1) Make up ur mind dat nobody can force u into doing what u dnt want to do,no matter what they say or do to U.
2) Get God involved by informing him of ur resolve and ask him to grant u the courage and strength to stick to ur decision.

3) Get a friend involved preferrably someone in Church who used to be into it and is now born again. Always roll together and let them know u roll wt God's people. Change ur crib if u have to.I dnt think u shud involve ur parents,they might complicate things.

4) if they beat u up or attempt to take ur life,bros abeg,tell ur parents,School authorities and d Police. U might have to leave dat school.

If they leave u alone,remember dat they did because u ident ified wt God's people. The day u bone Church and start frequenting Joints where they hang out,U ARE ON YOUR OWN!

Kip in mind that only God offers real protection! U are not alone,my guy! All the best!

I believe ur write up was made in gud faith and not wt any malicious intent,however allow me disabuse ur mind a bit,to wit:

1) The passage referring to the levites was an admonition to them to ensure they also pay tithes as d rest of d people.by implication,pastors themselves are not exempt frm tithing.

2) Tithing is d barest minimum required of any xtian who really has a heart 4 God and wishes to honour God by supporting the work. We in d new dispensation are not compelled to tithe,bt considering how much God has blessed us,10% of our monthly income is THE LEAST WE CAN DO!

3) Talk is cheap when it comes to giving to God,bt if u find giving a tenth of ur income cumbersome,then i wonder how much of a giver u are!

4) i agree that God does not punish us 4 not tithing as Vindictiveness is not one of his attributes,bt we punish ourselves wt guilt when we fail to pay our tithes and we encounter challenges in Life.
Personally,iam a faithful tither bt ive suffered loss inspite. Instead of crying to God bout hw undeserving i am of such an experience,i take it as an opportunity to learn.
Paying my Tithes is a voluntary decision i make and it does not st op at one tenth 4 me.i give as much as God blesses me and the Spirit urges me to give.but in any event,tithing is the least i can do to support the work,Malachi or no Malachi!

  But with all due respect,Seun,moving the 'Gospel rap thread' under the forum 'Rap Battles' is an ill-conceived decision bearing in mind that the 'Gospel Rap Thread' IS NOT A BATTLE THREAD!!
 Classifying the thread under 'Rap Battles' is a violation of everything the thread stands for. I suggest u give the forum a more generic name like 'Rap Forum' or just move the 'Gospel Rap Thread' back to the main section!
 U can decide to correct this anomaly or ignore my posts as usual. Either way u can be sure God will have the last word on this matter (wether u believe him or not!).

Well,i wud like to present a balanced view of the subject by tabling the case for and against the theory.

PROS

Nas is arguably the best lyricist hip hop has ever seen.Since "Illmatic",he's never stopped expositing on the ills & vices associated wt living in d inner cities of America. Always controversial bt never commercial,Nas is considered a spokesman and legend by black people.

Jay-Z is one of d most successful entertainers of our time. A living example for ghetto kids and hustlers who dream of a better life than pushing bricks in d Projects. He's also regarded as an enterpreneur wt a 'midas touch',apart frm being a Rap Icon wt birthed protegès like Kanye West.

CONS:

Nas promotes violence,sexual obscenity and crime in his lyrics.Though,he has songs that are positive and motivating,he hasnt refrained frm indulging in the same vices he preaches against. No wonder,all his albums carry the PG advisory!
Nas identifies the problems of black people but offers no real solution.Rather,he compounds the problem by being self-contradictory.

Jay-Z eulogizes the bling-bling lifestyle and approves criminal behaviour. Quote:
"Im still f*ckin wt crime coz crime pays/i cant change,im so stuck in my ways"
he idolizes the life of a love-vendor just like his mentor,Biggie. He is largely responsible 4 why Hiphop has lost direction today.Judging frm his blasphemeous name 'J-Hova',he really has no regard 4 God whatsoever!

THE PROGNOSIS:

Both Nas and Jay-Z are admittedly profane,bt does that necessarily imply they are Free-masons,by choice? No,sir!
  The average black youth who grew up in d projects without a solid spiritual upbringing learns to idolize material things and considers the concept of God as a folk-tale only to be used as a clichè and of no real significance!
lump that with the influence of 5 percenter religion on Hip hop and u understand why most Rap artistes refer to themselves as G.O.D and even make jokes about being the Devil!
 Be that as it way,it is a possibility that both artistes way have been initiated to freemasonry seeing how influential they've become in the world today (esp Jigga). Quote frm Jay-Z
