The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, has declared that she would support former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar even if President Muhammadu Buhari declares to contest in 2019.

Speaking with BBC Hausa, Alhassan explained that her choice of Abubakar was predicated on the fact that the former Vice President is her “godfather.”

The Minister, who is popularly called Mama Taraba said, “Atiku is my godfather even before I joined politics.

“And again, Baba Buhari did not tell us that he is going to run in 2019.

“Let me tell you today that if Baba said he is going to contest in 2019, I swear to Allah, I will go before him and kneel and tell him that ‘Baba I am grateful for the opportunity you gave me to serve your government as a minister, but Baba just like you know, I will support only Atiku because he is my godfather. If Atiku said he is going to contest.”

In the possibility of losing her job for rooting for Abubakar in 2019, Alhassan said, “If because of what I said, I am sacked, it will not bother me because I believe in Allah, that my time has elapsed that is why.

“Baba is not a mad man like those calling for my sack. They have been sending it and spreading that if Baba sees this I will be sacked.”

The stark contrast between both pictures has nothing to do with hunger, the pictures depicts the difference in culture of both people, it is a mentality thing. While the Whites have gotten to that stage where they see nature in a different light, they understand the importance of protecting, exploring, and respecting it, Africans still have this "consume - consume" mentality. I can tell you most of those with cutlass butchering that whale have food waiting for them at home. But immediately they saw the whale, the only thing they are thinking is 'I must eat it!'. It is the way our head is wired here.

you are not entirely wrong nor correct. It has to do with both hunger and mentality of the people but do u know there is a connection btw both...persistent hunger leads to a degenerated mentality. let me tell you this short narration to explain further , to begin with I'm a veterinary medical student . so one day we had this lecture with a professor of ruminant medicine ,,he said a senator from his constituency once send him some exotic breed of goats from S.A, wen they arrive Nigeria d first few days they ate peaceful in dsame trough without fighting after some time they began knocking hell out of each other cos of food...why? this is because from where they came from they were being fed ad_libitum( unlimited) , they knew no hunger but on getting to Nigeria food was so limited that there mentality changed as such they began to fight each other for food in a manner our local ones do..

In other words I do not disprove ur 'I wana eat it' thing in our heads but however the mentality of our people will change if hunger is removed out of d equation.
