Its a joke with those voting thumb machines, what a waste of time.

Another easy way to rig the elections, whoever came up with the ideas of this machines is a crook, dumb and corrupted.

No civilised country uses them.
Exactly
Why on earth do they need to scan ten fingers, couldn't the thumb have been enough. The ten finger scaning thingy is the thing that causes all the delay and hiccup in the excercise, whoever came up with that idea should be jailed

DayoKanu thank very much, what most people do not understand is that a lot of PDP guys defected to ACN because of the popularity of the party in the South West, of course, the original ACN members will want to checkmate them from hijacking their party(ask PDP Kwara), I do not mind the party elders choosing candidates
Please make that imposing

And why does it have anything to do with PDP?I'm actually amazed that sympathisers of ACN on nairaland see nothing wrong in this blatant anti-democratic practice, this shows that ACN will be nothing more than a regional party, and once the other parties get their act right,ACN is sure to lose ground even in the South West

Imposition of candidates have always been the way in CAN AD AC ever since Tinubu
mahil:
dis system of imposing leaders wont work out 4 ACN especially in oyo state
We'll just wait and see how the true "democrats" in ACN will fight this Tinubu injustice and let's see how it affects the party's fortunes in the general elections

Of course I'm following,or what other kind of following do you speak of,are you twitterhuh
My point is;why make such a fuss about GEJ's children school being open like there's proof he gave such order or influenced the decision in anyway.I still make reference to the Ogun state example,my own children are at home, but I aint beefing nobody. We all should be prepared to make whatever sacrifice necessary to move our democratic process forward without making such huge mountains out mole hills of whether a few schools are still in session just fo the convenient coincidental reason the president's children happen to school there

BTW heard the president has debunked the story as completely false.
PoliticsRe: Unseating The Mighty Pdp by rasputinn(m): 8:53am On Jan 19, 2011
"President Goodluck Jonathan has said the resignation of Chief Okwesilieze Nwodo as National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was a good development that would move the party forward. The President who spoke with aviation correspondents yesterday at the Lagos Airport on arrival from Abuja said the party was working very hard to move forward and part of the necessary “rituals” was the “sacrifice” of the PDP National Chairman who had to resign his appointment.

His words: “The party chairman resigned. In every society, there are certain norms and when you observe certain aberrations, you must adjust the system. Every human system operates that way. Just like any society, we have encountered problems and we’re adjusting and there is nothing odd about it"

^^^

With moves like these,I think the party'll get better and more internally democratic

PoliticsRe: Unseating The Mighty Pdp by rasputinn(m): 8:51am On Jan 19, 2011
@ OP,
Unseat PDP so that which party will take over and at what level,if state by state,I supported Oshiomhole's emergence in Edo and voted for and will still vote for Fashola this year in Lagos, however at the centre it's GEJ all the wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

For your info, there is NO party in Nigeria that is made up of saints so while calling for the unseating(wishful though) of the PDP,you might want to ask yourself, which party is made up of saints or you just want your own party in the limelight

Both the children of the rich and poor are in school in Ogun state, while Lagos,Edo,Delta etc schools are shut

Why are nairalanders not making a fuss about this undecided undecided, like it means anything,if the state govt or school authorities decide to remain open or shut, how is that GEJ's problem,y'all should stop bitching and murmuring already,or is it just an avenue to vent accumulated personal frustration huh huh huh

PoliticsRe: Riot In The North Over Jonathan's Win by rasputinn(m): 8:13am On Jan 19, 2011
[size=18pt]I hate it when the imperialist western press always find it convenient to go muslim north and christian south anytime there's a little skirmish in Nigeria especially in the north. They seem to always want to give religious/ethnic colouration to all issues.I'm sure they slept through the PDP primaries or did not see clips of it on TV,GEJ's victory cut across the geo-political regions of Nigeria,he is the PDP national(not regional) consensus candidate.

About the skirmishes,it's normal,it's to be expected.Worse skirmishes have been reported during the states congresses of ALL the major political parties,I wonder why the dubious AFP didn't go to town with their mischievous stories.

Well,I'll regard their stories with the same level seriousness as I'd regard Pastor Okotie's presidential ambition

I see this as a convenient escape route for the failed and failing INEC officials

Eretare:
Many persons can say what they will but as a supporter of GEJ, here is my own two pence.
1. Though he may not be the most flamboyant of persons, he has been able to achieve something that has been a rarity in Nigeria which is the eradication of fuel scarcity. We may have taken it for granted yet over the holiday season we can look back to the fact that we did not spend valuable hours in the petrol station.
2. He is disciplined. In contrast to Mallam Ribadu who thought that because he was in charge of the EFCC he was no longer part of the Nigerian Police force so refused his redeployment to his new area of assignment.
3. Ribadu is not corrupt yet he still manages to buy a house at the palms in Dubai. How does a government employee get so much money to buy such a property?
4. He was a strong voice of the anti-corruption crusade yet it can be argued that he targeted those whose politics did not rhyme with that of his boss. Despite all the noise from the pro-Ribadu camp, the anti-corruption crusade is still going strong and it is not going about its duties in an unlawful manner as it was under its previous leadership who flouted the law many times. Good intentions does not justify a wrong action.
5. He may appear slow but till date, GEJ has the record for the fastest strike resolution. Remember the ASUU and Labour strikes of November that were all resolved after only one day. If that is not a sign of effective leadership, i don't know what else is.
6. On the power issue, i don't see how privatisation of the power sector will make it any worse than it currently is. Workers may want to strike for the various reasons but to me the honest reason is that they are afraid that they'll have to work for their salaries.
For now, i rest my case.
Good points

Beaf has nothing to explain,if the American school opts to not close for the registration,is it the president's fault? For your info,so many other private schools opted not to close,as a matter of fact,Gov Gbenga Daniel ordered all schools in Ogun state to remain opened. So kini big deal?
