Your statement in bold actually is not accurate and may be misleading. All documents in support of an application are usually forwarded and reviewed by the appropriate visa office and by extension the officer in charge. The officials at VFS are not employees of the Canadian Government neither are they privy to any information as regards the processing of an application so they do not have any obligation whatsoever to withhold documents that is in support of an application. VFS is an outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide. The company manages visa and passport issuance-related administrative and non-discretionary tasks for its client governments.

They do not always have their client government's classified information during visa processing as this would require security clearance usually given to consular officers as they are the face of their government overseas. So VFS officials would presumably follow instructions from the Canadian embassy to guide applicants as they submit their applications and all that would increase their chances of a visa approval.

Assuming you know already, Canada has one of the most meticulous and probably one of the most highly sequestered visa processes in the world. So your "in-house" information most likely would be from what is within the public domain or atleast those of VFS officials but certainly not from the consular's office.

Lastly and just as being stated on IRCC's website, the idea of an online application or a paper application is basically for CONVENIENCE. Non weigh more or less against the other. Applicants on both platform undergo same scrutiny, review and processing. However, the only significant difference could be that an online application can be processed anywhere around the world where there is a Canadian embassy but mostly not always the case. Majority of online applications are still processed within the applicant's region or in visa offices that have previously processed applications of citizens of same country as these offices apparently would have better understand of documentation and information from that region. Irrespective of processing office, they still use the same processing time, scrutiny, review and importantly the provisions of the law used to adjudicate study permit applications.

I have read your post a couple of times and usually find it informative and insightful. I don't think you were condemned, probably some folks did not agree with what your surmised. All the same, we all should work together for the good of all.

Regards bro.

U MAY KNOW ME AS TIME GOES.

Good morning everybody and Gurus in the house.
Please I need your candid opinion.
I applied for TRV and was denied. But my concern now is that with the kind of application I submitted I don't think the VO went through my application. So am contemplating on contesting the decision.
The reason they gave for the refusal is that my home ties in Canada and Nigeria, my financial and personal assets even when I attached my landed property gifted to me by my dad and dad's landed properties and a letter to show that i am the one managing dads landed properties, paid for my tuition, paid for accommodation. Sponsor is my brother and he did a transfer to my account for my living expensive and my cosponsor as well.
Please I want to know if its possible for me to contest the TRV (student) because someone told me I can only contest if it were to be PRV. Pls how through is that. cry
And I think those guyz in Kenya are just being naturally wicked to Nigerians

I posted something sometimes ago, some know-it-all were condemning me. Any information I post here is from the in-house. I disn't argue th because they are classical.
Only the required docs go to NAIROBI. Other optional docs that support your application stay back here. This is coupled with the strict nature of NAIROBI VOs who are majorly Indian-Canadians.
THE BETTER OPTION IS GO ONLINE IN YOUR NEXT APPLICATION

Hello everyone.

Please I applied June 29th online. I discovered I made a mistake answering question 2b of the background section of IMM 1294e, I also did not complete filling my the family information form, I did not put the address and Nationality. Sent the corrected forms to the embassy via Email and also using the IRCC webform. I have not received any confirmation of receipt of those documents I sent. Do I still stand a chance? Sept. 4th resumption.

I noticed my biometrics changed from completed to " we do not need your fingerprints" two days ago? That's the only change that has occurred on my profile. What does this mean? I will really appreciate a response.

Cheers.

I will advise you withdraw your application before eligibility review citing error in filling your form that you need an amendment. This will save you being served with misrepresentation letter.

That is why they refused somebody who had travelled to the UK, USA twice and Canada for LIMITED TRAVEL HISTORY

That's because we hardly appeal. We always reapply that's why they take us for granted.

Unfortunately, no room for appeal. Only judicial review which is quite expensive

Every application undergo the same background check. The delay in getting response for online route should be from the Visa officers handling the application. Therefore, the blame should be on the London Visa officers and not the routes. We find out that Nairobi visa officers are dedicated to their work and very fast in giving out reponse as soon as they recieve an application, but reverse is the case for London visa officers.

You just have to be hopeful. It shall end in praises.

I think it depends on the volume of applications the visa office receives. Most people are now embracing online application which reduces the volume of paper applications that go to Nairobi. My wife who went to the VFS for biometrics confirmed that her friend who went for paper submission left there three hours before her because online applicants were far more than those who came for paper submission. Imagine the substantial number of those online applications go to London visa office and the few paper applications go to Nairobi, who will get response faster?

Just wanna ask his question tho, cos am curios. While waiting for my Biometrics today at VFS, I saw like 4 white ladies and 2 white guys coming out and entering a particular room that had "restrcicted area" on the door. Is it that there is a mini embassy in there where some of our applications are being processed. Just asking oo.. grin

That VFS office is not only for Canada. Schengen people and South Africa do process theirs there

Good day Mr Ratawu,

I don't think your assertion may be right, because it may not have been deduced from any premise. Are you simply saying people's application that have stayed 9weeks that it is today they will start background check? I may be wrong but can you enlighten the house how this could be possible because in this house applicant has been rejected within the same period we are saying so what is the correlation .I see success

I RENDER AN UNRESERVED APOLOGY TO TBE FORUM FOR MY COMMENT. IT JUST A PERSONAL OPINION WHICH MAY BE WRONG ANYWAY.
I AM VERY SORRY FOR IT

But if you file paperoute, biometrics from day one always reads “we do not need your fingerprints.” It will follow then that those who filed online profile would not necessarily be reflecting this change today. Am I getting anything wrong here?

Update of completed to we do not need your fingerprint means that your actual background check just started. U still have a long way in your application

Hello Everyone,

I applied for Canadian online study permit on June 24th and was called for biometric test July 6th which i did on July 9th. Ever since, I have not received updates on my application. its being exactly a month I applied and no instruction for medicals. Can the Gurus in the house advice on the next action to take?

Nothing would be done on your application until you did the biometrics. Start counting the processing days of your application from July 9th that you did your biometrics. Your application will be reading background check now which may take three to six weeks before the review of eligibility review. You can't get a medical call until they start reviewing your eligibility

Thanks ratawu for responding to my issues, actually, the professor in Canada, actually wrote on the relevance of the course, how it an excellent fit for my previous academic qualification, employment prospect, recommendation, telling the VO he strongly advice them to approve my visa as a genuine student.. as for my lecturer here in Nigeria, he tackled how the course is needed here in Nigeria and all.. am just afraid, I shouldn’t have added them..the letters look cool, but just scared the VOs might see it another way! I tried to tackle the reasons I was denied tho..have not seen anybody collected letter from school.. mo gbe ooooo

Share your profile and the reasons for refusal in the gcms notes
Let the put heads together to put forward a strong re-application

Fellas I submitted my Study application to VFS on the 11th July and my admission stated that I have to be in school by the First week of September this year. What do you guys think about the time frame....? We were plenty that submitted that day and we are all supposed to be in different Canadian schools by that very week. Please your ideas on the time frame

When it is two weeks to your resumption and a your application has not reached an advanced stage ( medical call), send a message to your school that you will arrive late for class

Gurus in the house, I was denied a visa in early June, but today I re-applied for my study permit as it took me one month to write my SOP and LOE.. I want to ask if visa support letter from a department chair who is a professor has any significant or effect on one’s application.. As I got a visa support letter from the Head of department(chair) in Canada and a senior lecturer from my school in Nigeria addressed to the embassy to support my application after I told him I was denied.. I have six weeks left before school resumes.. I want to know if anyone has gotten something like this before.. hope they wount see it as sign of desperation..

These letters may not influence the VO's decision unless they explain certain areas in your explanation to VO's concerns to your refusal. The only thing that can boost your chance is how well you address the concerns raised by the visa officer in your gcms notes

If something like that happened then it means the person did not use his/her previous account to reapply. You only do biometric ones in 10 years. If you're previously denied visa when reapplying use same account and apply then you will not be charge for biometric. I don't why you're arguing what you have little or no knowledge about

I am not here to join issues with anybody.
The person used the same account to re-apply. They still sent a message to him that they needed his biometrics which he did on Thursday at Lekki BUT I WILL AGREE WITH YOU THAT IT WILL TAKE EFFECT FROM JULY 31st

Not really true.

@ratawu and all please guys i wanna make payment for myself and my hubby but am confused. Please am i to tick just Study permit for myself as the Primary applicant. Please which one will i tick for my husband note he filled the forms for work permit and family is there any other forms we are leaving out for him? Applying from the UK. Please guys help respond as i wanna make payment asap! Thanks in advance!

Apart from Study permit form made outside Canada you filled as a principal applicant and the family information form, your spouse will fill application for work permit as well as family information form. For children above 5 years, you fill study permit form for them while less than 5 year chikdren will take visit visa form.

So thick study permit for yourself and children over 5 years and open work permit for your hubby and visit visa for children under 5

For biometrics, u pay $170 for family
