The country is too poor to have such .Even if all the fantastic structures are put in place ,it will not stop the hawkers, and street urchin ( supported by politicians ) from defacing the place with thier dirty and rickety buses, dirt and human waste. We need to attend to our citizens first before any meaningful development can happen in this country.
At present Nigeria look like a caused land that nothing seem to work .
Poverty alleviation is the number one thing to be done before all this can be put in place!!

Or better still we can do both at the same time in order to fast-track the development!!

But our biggest problem is leadership

Once the governor's build 2km of road at different local government with open gutters, Then top it up with a flyover at the capital,,,, GBAM!!!! They've worked, the next thing is to start looting!!

What breaks my heart the most is the masses praising them, It sucks to be black walahi

Look at Alpha Beta owned by Tinubu that collect taxes in Lagos involved in N100 billion fraud . Nigerians don't pay taxes because they know it will end up in bullion vans.
It's all as a result of failed Government!!

Which is why your idea of going into politics is a good one.

You can be an example of a non corrupt leader.

But you cannot build a successful country on just oil.

Plus recovering loot will soon finish.then what?

Good evening. Got to leave this thread now. Nice talking
The problems with most leaders in Nigeria and Africa at large is that most of them are not visionary And creative, 99% of them are only going into politics because of their pockets, They aren't really passionate about developing the nation!

Just take a look at this!!

Nigeria leaders both past and present should be killed by hanging, Those that are dead should be brought out and re-kill properly

PhiliptheArab:
Yes, we can use the billions and build new streets.

The next problem is how you maintain the streets, upgrade the streets and so on

That bit costs far more than what we can raise from seizing billions looted
An average Nigerian is ready to pay as long as you are going to give him enough assurance that his money won't be re-looted
TravelRe: Why Don't We Have These Kind Of Streets In Nigeria? by Raydos(op): 6:53pm On Nov 21, 2020
PhiliptheArab:
We don't have these kind of streets in nigeria because we are not ready to pay the kind of taxes that would fund and maintain those kind of streets.

In the UK, if you are living in the city, you pay council tax which ranges from 60000 to 100000 naira monthly depending on the city. That money goes into making the cities look nice

That's why uk cities have great streets.

If we charged that kind of tax in Nigeria, Nigerians would scream.

So we pay scanty taxes and get scanty and bad roads

The bad roads we have in Nigeria are what we can afford. The sad thing is that looting still happens on top
If Government upgrade people's lives and reduce poverty, people will definitely be able to pay that Taxes,

But with high unemployment rate, Increase in Poverty, Tell me how will people be able to afford that?

In less than 20years, The Government of china moved 830million people from extreme poverty to middle-class, 830million people that's 5 times the population of Nigeria!!

If Government can do that in Nigeria too, why won't people pay those taxes you mentioned??
