Family › Re: Is It Proper For Your Wife To Insist She Must Be Checking Your Phone Always? by Raylight2(m): 4:07pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
I am not yet married but in a serious relationship. She has access to my phone and I also have access to hers. Her fingerprint is registered on my phone. She can access my phone without seeking my consent to do so same as I . I think transparency should be key in any relationship and marriage. We must learn to be transparent. If that is done at the start of a relationship and agreed upon, it'll help both parties as the relationship progresses. We both grew up from a family where transparency is key and we have agreed on that from day one. Transparency between ourselves and our future kids. |

Please what do I do?
Any drug I can drink to forestall any Impending negative scenario? Why you dey rush? Your cooking environment is not healthy but the cockroach is fat and healthy? How did you know the aftertaste of cockroach. It means you have eaten one before. You shouldn't be bothered then. Seems cockroaches are rich in protein though. |

Programming › Re: Pricing Issue With Hosting A Mongodb by Raylight2(op): 9:13am On Jan 12, 2023 |
QuoteJustOnce: MongoDB (Atlas) free version is good for you and free at 512MB RAM. By the time it starts to choke, you or whoever owns the app should be making enough to pay the next tier $9/mo 2GB RAM. You can see I am more concerned about RAM than ROM; because that will determine how many concurrent transactions can happen at the same time. Low ram == DB crashes Or AWS DocumentDB (essentially MongoDB) free for 1 year on T3 Medium compute (2vCPU, 4GB RAM) and 5GB backup per month. If after this time, you or whoever owns the app is still worried about paying for DB costs with an exponential surge in users (aka freeloaders) then water don pass garri. Good luck. To avoid the water don pass garri part of your post, I'll opt for MySQL. I'll only switch from mongoose to sequelize. Better I do that now than having the app go crashing down. The number of users is unpredictable. The number of shares data is same. Let me go the safer route . |

QuoteJustOnce: Pump your brakes buddie. Thousands of users don't translate to anything meaningful that would require a panic attack with regards to storage costs. My first question would be: Thousand of users doing what? i.e. what would these users be saving (adding, or storing) in your DB? And how often are they doing what they are doing in terms of transactions per second? And what would be the read-to-write ratio i.e are they always saving something or mostly just viewing something? Interacting. It's a social media platform |
Programming › Pricing Issue With Hosting A Mongodb by Raylight2(op): 6:39pm On Jan 10, 2023 |
I am developing a website and I think I made a mistake using mongoDB instead of MySQL. I said that because of the pricing when it comes to hosting. I am confused on what to do now. The site would have thousands of users when launched so I'd need a large storage. I have checked Atlas, AWS, DigitalOcean. their pricing drives cold down my spine. What do you suggest I do please? |
Business › Re: CBN Cashless Policy Is Good For POS Business by Raylight2(m): 9:27am On Dec 08, 2022 |
thebosstrevor1: Most POS operators are concerned about the new CBN cashless policy, I personally think they shouldn't stress themselves and I think the new CBN policy is a good one for them.
Since a cashless policy is the primary goal of the CBN, if you are a pos operator, you can use this to your advantage, now that the government is encouraging a cashless system that means more business will come your way.
for instance, if someone wants to pay his children's school fees, that person can walk to any POS operator and do that, and you will be able to charge your usual transaction fee
if someone wants to pay for goods and they are far away from an atm or bank, they can now use your POS services to do that transaction
if someone wants to transfer money from their atm to their family member in another location, then it is easy for them to use your POS
people that want to receive cash can also use your POS service, they will transfer the money they need to your account and you give them cash while you take your commission
The CBN cashless policy will bring more customers to your POS Business, now people will be able to pay for anything through POS and you will cashout, you will get more customers than ever before.
Anyway, just see the big picture, fantasize, dream and think of how much money you will make from CBN cashless policy. You don't understand. Do you think the CBN would be do dumb to encourage Nigerians being defrauded by POS agents to leave us in their hands? Do you know how much we pay to those guys just to withdraw 1k? How about when we get debited and never get paid all in the name of "bad network". My own money and a lot of other people is cooling in some people's account all in the name of bad network. If you want to understand what cashless means, go find out about MPESA in Kenya. I could live for a month without touching paper money and I never went to the POS for withdrawal. I simply transferred from my bank to my phone number which serves as an account and if I needed to pay for anything anywhere in Kenya, I transfer to the person with zero contact with the POS. if the CBN tries to leave us in the hands of those POS guys (which I'm sure they wouldn't), we will kick. Cashless is the best if properly planned. MTN has started a similar thing with the Kenyan MPESA called MOMO. I hope it is promoted. I hate POS with passion. This cashless policy should do justice. |
