Iamdazzle:This is my last response. Falling out with the elite class is not why he's in jail, he is there because all evidence (of over a decade) is pointing towards the fact that he is indeed a pedophile. His first wife was underage when he married her which is well documented. He openly admitted to rape and sexual misdemeanor in his song 'I Admit'. Stop making it look like he's being demonized. There are many black artists who are living peacefully out of jail in the US and around the world. This is the same thing people were saying about Naira Marley. I suggest you gather more information about these people and look at their rap sheet before blaming the 'system'. When you do the wrong things in life, you are always at risk of your actions catching up with you. Celebrity or not, one can get away with various crimes, but one day, it might backfire and the culprit will have to pay for those evil acts. I sincerely hope that with this, you can learn something. Thanks. |
Iamdazzle:Are you implying that because other influential people are rapists and pedophiles that it is right for R Kelly to do it as well? Does that justify his actions? It's the same thing with people who have a similar flawed line of thought that think that since our politicians steal, it's okay for youths to engage in online fraud as well. There is a fundamental problem with the way Nigerians act and think. Our problems are far more complicated than we think and we're not close to getting out of our predicament as a country. If everyone is contributing to the downfall of the country, why not be among the few who would do the right thing and set a good example for others to follow? |
This is certainly not a trivial matter. The world must stand up and leave no stone unturned in the bid to stamp out all forms of racism, chauvinism, anti-semitism, bigotry, tribalism and all forms of discrimination. Let us remember, mourn and honour the lives lost to this senseless acts of violence and hatred #SayNoToXenophobia #SayNoToViolence |
BobiNick:It's unfortunate that people still don't understand the full concept of rape. Even if the sex was consensual, if Busola was underage at the time, it is still rape. That's what is called statutory rape. However, hardly anyone knows what truly happened. Only God knows. Let's hope both parties get what they deserve. |
Seun:Aside this, she's currently the highest earning female athlete in the world according to Forbes. She'll lose all or most of her endorsements and the prize money she makes from competing in tournaments if she retires so, it's obvious why she still needs to remain on tour especially if she can still compete at a high level. This applies to Federer as well. |
NwaAmaikpe:What of people who don't do good at all or fail to express any form of generosity? Would you prefer that? Stop looking at the negative in every situation before it rubs off on you in your endeavors. It's similar to the optimist who says 'glass half full' in contrast to the pessimist who says 'glass half empty'. |
desiregold:It hurts me, to say the least, that you feel this way about Nigerian men. I feel it is necessary to let you know that there are still many decent men out there. Do not allow the misdemeanor of some deviants influence your opinion of the whole bunch. Men who will love, respect and protect women are still very much available in our society. Don't give up on humanity. Don't give up on us. |
Houseofglam7:Calm down lady. He ain't worth it. I enjoy reading your posts without the hostilities. Don't get into the mud with every dick and harry. |
lilianofentse:If guys see value in you, they'll stay. Now, there are certain steps you need to take. First, work on yourself. Are you someone that people would like to befriend on a long term basis? How is your character? Are you the dream lady for most men? If that isn't the case, in most cases, the right guys won't stay in your life. Don't get caught up in a stupid ideology that the man meant for you would like you for who you are; Nobody likes someone who has a bad character. Nobody likes nonsense. You can work on yourself and become a better person. Contrary to popular opinion, people change. The next step is try and meet the right people. If you meet guys who just want to have fun, there's a tendency they just want to get in your pants. Make a conscious effort to associate more with career-driven, focused and responsible individuals. These are predominantly the kind of men who value and are prepared for serious relationships which can lead to 'happily-ever-after'. In the event that these category of men feel that they have met their dream woman in you, they feel compelled to stay and make significant effort to remain in your life. What's more? They are the right kind of men for you. To be honest, I have met a few stunningly captivating ladies who I lusted after; but when I got involved with them, I discovered the personality behind that pretty face and perfect body was even more desirable. |
kennygee:I understand you clearly. It's a fine line and it's all related. Materialistic women also make their requests look like important needs. The fact is most people don't like someone who asks for money or favours all the time. That's why I used the word 'incessant'. Your man knows your needs, if he really wants to help, you don't need to burden him all the time with your problems. It's a turnoff, no matter how sweet the lady may seem. Some women know how to suffocate you with all their 'genuine' problems not caring or being sensitive to the fact that everyone has his own problems. |
pansophist:I agree that sex shouldn't be put on a pedestal or over-valued else some women can exploit that as a weakness and use it to manipulate and get whatever they want from a man. Although, I do think sex means a lot to some ladies. This idea that ALL women can just open their legs for every dick and harry without having affection towards them is a far-fetched theory. These same women who gobble up some men's resources use those same resources on other men to which they are emotionally invested. It hurts ladies deeply when they truly give their heart and body only to realize they've been played for a fool. Again, it's nauseating when certain men feel they are immune to falling head over heels for a woman, especially men who often boast that they never spend on ladies but it is the other way around. Does that not make you the 'leech' which you have branded most women? In their naivety, they think it's some form of prestigious thing they can use to gloat. In my experience, these sort of men are the biggest prey to needy and deceitful women. Wiser and stronger men throughout history have fallen to the schemes of women. Having said this, a good relationship should be symbiotic. Each side needs to sacrifice for the other party when it is required. |
kennygee:You made some really good points. I actually feel Nigerian ladies are unfairly vilified at every turn generally and on this forum especially. I have met some really desirable and decent women. However, being submissive and independent should not be mutually exclusive. You can be independent, success-driven and still be respectful to your man. A woman's greatest asset is her character. A decent lady should know not to over-burden a man with incessant requests. Everything should be done moderately and in order. If a man truly loves you anyway, he'll do much more than what you expect or ask cos he knows your needs. Personally, I have spent over 250k on an ex for shopping. She deserved it cos she was there for me when the going was tough. However, the relationship wasn't meant to be but I have no regrets whatsoever over everything I did for her. |
pocohantas:It's a problematic question for ladies who are jobless and are living off of men who use them for transient pleasures. |
lilianofentse:Lol. I know, right? Just felt compelled to do it cos someone could benefit from it. So, take it easy and drop the 'knife', huh? I actually enjoy reading your posts. |
lilianofentse:Whomever is absolutely correct in that context. It's a dependent clause and it applies in the way it was used. |
AntiBrutus:I think you are right about this but slowly, you're allowing the disposition of some men define your opinion on the whole bunch. You are also allowing them win the 'battle'. They want you to become like them; individuals that criticise, condemn and form general opinions on a particular gender in a place; and it seems they have won you over to their unenviable side. For instance, when someone triggers an histrionic outburst towards you, throws tantrums and starts name calling, the greatest proof that you're not what is being associated with you is not throwing tantrums in return. That's the underlying dynamic that seems oblivious to you. Don't let indecent people drag you into their mud. Just my opinion though. |
x6blade:Bro, I really don't care about rating a fellow man's pic. I'm attracted to ladies but you need to learn to ignore trolls and hateful people. Nothing pains them more than that. They ain't worth your time and thought. If someone has nothing nice or useful to contribute, use the report button and throw their hateful talk into the trashcan. |
MissRaine69:Miss Raine, you have to understand that the spiritual controls the physical. Your whole existence doesn't come from thin air. You were created, by a spiritual being. People are influenced by spiritual forces. People die from spiritual attacks. A lot of mysterious things happen that we cannot explain or understand. There are way too many mysteries in the world which lends real credence to the spiritual dynamic. Even in the Western world, a lot of people recognize this fact. Simply because you don't understand the things that happen spiritually doesn't mean you should deny its existence or try to explain or rationalize what you don't understand. We humans fall into that trap too often. If you choose to recognize or remain oblivious to it, it changes nothing. I don't know if masturbation is influenced by spiritual forces or not but one thing is sure: there are spiritual forces controlling and influencing things that happen in this world. |
ire803386:Good question. Like I wrote earlier, Bran had the power of seeing the past and also things currently happening all over the world. He usually controlled legions of ravens to enable him see what is transpiring everywhere. This is how he knew Jaime was coming to Winterfell. He must have seen Jaime on his way to Winterfell with one of his ravens. Even when Jojen Reed was helping Bran understand and control his powers beyond the Wall, Jojen never told Bran anything about him having powers to see the future. Bran is an advanced warg, nothing more. He can enter and control people like he did to Hodor but he uses ravens mostly. Go back and rewatch the part when the former three-eyed raven (the old man) in the tree was explaining what it meant to be a three-eyed raven to Bran, he NEVER inclined towards Bran being able to see the future. They both always travelled to Bran's past and things currently happening in real time like when Bran saw the army of the dead marching and the night king put his mark on him. All HIS visions under the tutelage of the old man were things happening in real time or past events. If you think Bran was the playing the game of thrones to claim the Iron throne, then you haven't been paying attention. He never wanted the Iron throne. Never. However, with his power to see things happening all over, he must have known from hearing discussions of Lords through his ravens that they would choose him. It was not a coincidence that everyone accepted him at that meeting. Immediately Jon killed Dany, it ruled Jon out for political reasons from seating on the Iron throne. The Lords of Westeros would have begun deciding amongst themselves at that point who would be the King and Bran knew ahead of time because he can see everything happening around the world. Tyrion was just the mouthpiece. Bran chose to accept it because they all chose him. He never wanted it or forced them to choose him. So, how did he play them? |
lilianofentse:Please don't agree with them. No individual whether pastor, bishop or regular church goer is the yardstick. God is the benchmark and he knows his true children. 2 Timothy 2:19. Please don't do it. God is real. Have a great day. |
melodyogonna:I'm not interested in any back and forth so this is my last response. No army is invincible. The Unsullied can be defeated and killed. In Meereen, when the faceless men in masks came to attack Dany in the fighting pits, it was her dragon who rescued her by carrying her away from the skirmish. I seem to recall many Unsullied being killed in that fight by untrained men in masks. GreyWorm himself was almost killed in an encounter with the men in masks. Against a much larger force, they will be soundly defeated. Plain and simple. |
melodyogonna:The Unsullied are the better fighters, no doubt; but if the Northmen have a larger force remaining, then the odds may not be firmly in their favour. The Dothraki are one of the fiercest fighters too but they were decimated when they met a large force of dead men in the Great War. Bottomline: No army is invincible. Strategies, size of an army and other external forces can sway the odds. Keep in mind that if the GreyWorm and the Unsullied try to put reason aside and forcefully kill Jon, they may not only be fighting the Northmen; the Northmen may join forces with the men of the Vale who are led by Sansa's cousin Robin Arryn and forces from House Tarly who would be led by Samwell Tarly (best friend of Jon) since his father and brother were killed by Dany. All this should be put in consideration. If I was a betting man, I'd stake on the combined forces from the great houses of Westeros defeating the Unsullied. King Bran controls the six kingdoms. He can surely summon all the armies of the six kingdoms along with Sansa who would also summon the Northmen to fight the Unsullied if the Unsullied go against their family's wishes and kill their brother Jon. Both sides had to compromise, in Tyrion's words. |
For people who dislike Sansa because of her suggestion to Bran to make the North an independent kingdom, I really don't think it was for her own selfish reasons. She never tried to take the Northern throne away from Jon and never showed jealousy. Even when Jon was going to Dragonstone to meet Dany, she begged him not to go so that no harm would befall him. Regardless of whoever was chosen to rule the seven kingdoms, Sansa would have still asked that the North be an independent kingdom. The North are hard to control. The Northmen have always sought to break out from the seven kingdoms. The North only follow their own. Death in masses has always befallen the Starks and other Northmen anytime they came to King's Landing at the orders of a Southern ruler. With the recent tragedy as well, it would have made pledging fealty to the Iron throne in King's landing even harder. Recall that they made Jon the king in the North. Jon bowed to queen Dany but his people (the Northmen) never really accepted her as their queen. Sansa and Arya repeatedly called her 'your' queen when talking with Jon. The Northmen and their Lords were done with taking orders from a Southern ruler. They made that clear a long time ago. They wanted to have the liberty to always stay safely in the North where they belong along with their ruler which is why they always said, the King in the North should stay in the North. |
Fadedvoices2:All this is speculation. Both the Northmen and the Unsullied suffered casualties fighting in the Great War and the Last War against Cersei. We don't know the actual number of soldiers left in both armies. |
lifedynamics:The Dothraki, Unsullied have leaders. The leaders are the ones who get to choose whether to kill Jon instantly or imprison him. Obviously, they made the latter choice. Even Dany didn't kill all her enemies immediately. She imprisoned people at certain times. Keep in mind that Jon also led a host of Northmen to King's landing in the fight against Cersei. His soldiers wouldn't stand pat if GreyWorm or the Unsullied tried to kill him. It was a complicated situation which required allies killing each other so they had to reach a compromise. Bran cannot see the future. He can only see the past and things happening in the present all over the world. This is what he said to his sisters when he was explaining what it meant for him being the three-eyed raven. Recall that when Jaime was discussing with him regarding their fate after the Great War, he asked him: 'How do you know there's an afterwards?'. He also said before the Great War that he doesn't know if fire could kill the Night King. Obviously, he couldn't see the future. The only people with the powers to see things which haven't yet happened in the movie are Jojen Reed and Melisandre. Hence, you certainly cannot blame Bran for failing to warn anyone of Dany's evil plan. Recall also that he severally only referred to himself as the one who would preserve the history (past) of the seven kingdoms. |
Seun:Jon is a Targaryen. The dragon has a strong bond with Tagaryens. Jon was the only one who could ride a dragon alongside Dany. Obviously, the dragon wasn't present at the moment Jon killed Dany and it knew Jon was friends with their mother. I think that's the rationale behind Drogon not killing Jon. GreyWorm wanted justice for Dany but Jon was the king in the North. Killing him instantly would have started another war between the Unsullied and the Northmen. That's the only explanation behind GreyWorm not killing Jon. He was not interested in a war between the Northmen and his soldiers. They were allies (they fought together at the Great War and also helped conquer King's landing). He simply wanted punishment for the queen's murderer. |
Seun:Jaime's case was different. He was pardoned by Robert Baratheon at the sack of King's landing. Torgo Nudho (Grey Worm) who had arguably the greatest army in Westeros (Unsullied) at his command demanded justice for the queen's (Dany) death. If the Lords of Westeros had not obliged and given Jon Snow some form of punishment for his crime, it would have led to another war between the Northmen and the Unsullied. In contrast, it was easy for Robert Baratheon to pardon Jaime since his crime was killing the Mad King who Robert himself was rebelling against, and that royal pardon came at no cost of war. |
MariaLavina:Great post. Couldn't have put it any better. |
Houseofglam7:Lol. Let's give her some credit. She has every reason not to work hard especially because she's the daughter of a billionaire but she's still hustling hard to make it to the top of the music industry. It is a disposition that requires commendation. |
I know I'm a bit late to the party but I feel compelled to weigh in, so permit me OP, if you will. There are different layers to this IMO. In an ideal world, there should be nothing wrong in the woman initiating the process of marriage or proposing to the man. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world. First off, men are able to deal with rejection better than women so it is unadvisable to encourage women to take this step as it might backfire especially because it's unconventional. Secondly, there's something that just seems off that approach. The lady will want to keep it secret because it's something that will raise eyebrows if people hear about it and it's usually better to avoid negative publicity or reputation. It might also cause future issues between you and your partner as he might fail in some of his responsibilities using the excuse of his unreadiness. I don't think it's wrong for a lady to do it because every relationship is unique but I also think it's wiser to follow the natural order. If a lady has been with her beau for some time, she should know where the relationship is headed. She should have deduced the man's plans from their intimate discussions. She can encourage him and try to speed up the process. A lady should understand her man perfectly and know what she needs to do or say to see if he's really ready to spend a lifetime with her and encourage him to take the next step. If he's not ready, it would be as lucid as the blue sky, then she has to tell herself the truth and not make excuses for him and ultimately, she has to make a decision. It is dangerous to assume that a man will accept a lady's proposal simply because she feels the man loves her unconditionally. Men have the uncanny ability to demonstrate a substantial amount of love for women and still not be ready to marry. Men also say a lot of things including promising marriage to make women happy or get favors from them so don't play yourself. Marriage is a huge commitment in every sense of the word. It is a totally different ballgame from relationships. Furthermore, a man can accept your proposal at that moment so as not to make you feel bad but keep you waiting long after the 'engagement' which makes the whole thing futile. Lastly, as a woman, it is important to know your worth. If you have tremendous value, a man would do anything to speed up the process and marry you as he would dread the thought of losing you forever to another man. He would hustle harder, run through iron coated walls just to be with you as fast as possible. Don't give any man the opportunity to see you as desperate or downplay your value. If a lady has not gotten to the level of being extremely desirous, she has to work on herself and make herself that much delicious so much that suitors would be falling head over heels for her. My two cents. |
It's not by force to go on a date. If you don't have money, stay at home, work harder so as not to go outside and disgrace yourself as a man in front of a lady. What is worth doing, is worth doing well. Don't allow poverty affect your thinking lads. |
