fistonati:you see what I'm trying to say...lol. abeg dont bomb somebody mouth because of a politician o...lol ![]() |
If my eyes are not deceiving me, and the things I’m hearing are true that our politicians we know to be selfish and for themselves alone are now playing ‘for the people’ simply because they have either selfishly left the defeated party for the ruling one or are trying to get back ‘power’ but still retain they selfish attitudes. To make it worse, they are pretending to be rebuilding our country, acting like they weren’t the ones that got us to this point in the first place. And as they are stylishly destroying the country further, we the youth are rejoicing with them simply because we are naïve. Oh I sorry for Nigeria... I sorry for the young men and women that are taking sides and fighting each other on social media because we seem not to understand these politicians yet. I keep telling you guys but you always fail to listen, you instead love to hail them when they post a message on social media that portray them as being on our side. But inside, they don’t practice what they preach. They don’t care about us. Not a bit. I repeat, not a bit! We fight for them, the same people that destroyed our country, because we have been so naïve and gullible, we follow them and they now think that our lives depend on them, where as it should be their offices and positions depending on us because we put them there. These politicians! All of them are the same. They are not different in any way. When it comes to making decisions, the first thing they think about is themselves and their families, the question of if it betters your life or not is secondary. As long they are still living large in their offices, without us keeping them on their toes, without us constantly asking those questions that need to be asked, there is no hope for a better Nigeria. Oh I sorry for Nigeria… I sorry for the little children growing up because we the Youths are failing them. Egbami o! We have allowed these politicians to block our reasoning with tribal sentiments. You will hardly find youths analyzing political issues without it ending in a heated tribal battle. We take sides, it’s me and that politician from my state or tribe against you and your tribesman or woman. But when we all redraw into our beds at night, it’s you having sleepless night because the heat is too much while that politician sleeps like an ‘adult’ baby inside his mansion where the light never ‘blinks’. Oh I sorry for Nigeria… I sorry for the youth that believes he is leader of tomorrow but is still blinded by pride and hatred towards another tribe. Till…Till…Till we suffer to the point where we start dropping dead, is that when we will start demanding results from our leaders, from that local government chairman to that senator and president. When are we going to stop pampering them? When are we going to start making them understand that we voted them to serve and not to enrich their pockets? They are living like celebrities with so much wealth that they can’t account for. We even pray to God to make us be like them. I sorry for Nigeria… I sorry for the youths because we have refused to wake up. Look at our country, does it look like one that has ever seem governance? Go to the states not a single one can sustain itself but we always elect people who come out and promise to make our states heaven on earth. They build roads and give us clean water and we hail and call them ‘working governors’. They are our so called leaders but they all have their children in foreign schools, leaving our schools in shamble. We should be asking our politicians questions, a lot of questions, but no, we are not. Instead we are all over social media, attacking ourselves or anyone who dares question them. I am a big fan of the President because he is my ideal kind of leader. But what about the other ‘leaders’ in our various states and local government, what have we seen different about them? Have they changed their lifestyle to reflect that of leaders? All I see are the same set of people hiding under the wings of a good man. But as usual we have fallen for their tricks. chikeFavor2000:hmmm the truth is I believe so too and i also believe we are heading somewhere better but these problems are with us, we cant deny it and they need to be solved before we cant get there. asking your government questions doesnt mean u are not in support of the administration. and yes you are right, if he can solve these 3 issues, we will commend him and then present another list because there is so much to be done. |
Sometimes we are faced with too many information that they all become useless. We want to live right but don’t just know how to. But in life there are some basic rules. Rules that covers every aspect of life and if followed graciously, you will almost be assured of a happy and fulfilled life. Knowing them and practicing them will add value to your life. I call these rules the theory of everything. Theory No1: Learning; everyday, we seek knowledge, we go the extra length or spend that extra cash to get it. The secret of learning is when you are doing something with such enjoyment that you don’t notice that time passes. Theory No2: Decency; never take a mean advantage over anyone in any transaction or any situation. Never be hard upon people who are under your control. Be nice, be polite, respect people no matter the circumstances. You will be loved and favored by people. Theory No3: The theory of greatness; be hardworking, knowing nothing comes easy in life and willing to go all the way anyway will surely make you great. Never take no for an answer.. Be mentally strong and never let anyone bring you down with their words. Theory No4: the theory of falling in love; hmm love, love, love. Always know that if it is right, it happens and if it’s wrong, you can never make it right. The main thing is not to hurry in or you might hurry out. And remember your attitude is very important. So always be careful and give it your all. Theory No5: Faith; it’s the substance of thing hoped for and the evidence of thing not seen. It doesn’t change, there is no way round it. CAPISCE!!! Apply these theories in any aspect of life and you will surely become the best in life, be it school or at work, anywhere. |
Chule:thanks man |
DLuciano:lol! naah, that come up this week right? |
What a week it was. They say, when it rains, it pours. That best described the turn of events last week as the news kept pouring in. from Dasuki’s calculator blowing revelations to series of elections being nullified. Our darling, yeah that’s what they are now, the Dream team IV brought smiles to our faces. That’s how our football should be right. Last week truly kept us spell bound. If you blinked, you must have missed something. Let’s relief them for u with the lessons learnt. DASUKI WILL MAKE A BETTER CASHIER It all started like a normal probe, come and account for your days in office. Tell us how you spent the money meant for arms purchase. We were all waiting to hear about the drones, helicopters and other war weapons that the $2.1bn arms deal money was spent on. But then they were never purchased. OK fine, he must have transferred the money to a foreign account like our politicians do right? But no, Dasuki wasn’t interested in all that. He was doing the job of a cashier! This was supposed to be a National Security Adviser. Last week the arms purchase scandal now known as Dasukigate reached another level as more shocking revelations emerged with details of who and how the $2.1bn was spent. It was appealing to know that they spent huge amounts on ridiculous things as spiritual interventions, purchase of apartments and supporting the re-elections of members of House of Reps. Here are a few run down of the alleged misappropriation as reviewed last week N550 million transferred to ThisDay Newspaper N380 million transferred to support re-election of House of Reps members N750 million transferred to Reliance Referral Hospital Limited account for special prayers N120 million sent to Nduka Obaigbena as compensation N170 million spent on a four bedroom duplex N90 million payment for Dasuki’s son’s house And the list goes on. He didn’t leave anyone one or accused anyone wrongly. The account was perfect, no one has come out to debunk any of the claims. Such a well prepared account book definitely puts Dasuki in running for Cashier of the Year. TRIBUNAL JUDGEMENTS CANNOT BE TRUSTED ANYMORE When the senate resumes on Tuesday, there will only be 101 senators instead of 109. This is because, 8 members of the chamber have had their elections nullified. More worrying is the fact that out of the 8, only 2 had theirs nullified at the tribunal. Last week saw 7 elections that had previously been Okayed by tribunal at their various states. In fact all the three serving senators representing Rivers state at the Senate were showed the exit door by the court of appeal in the state Uche Ekwunife of Anambra State also saw her election nullified adding to the already growing list of elected officials to have their elections victories overturned after it had been cemented by the tribunals. If this trend continues, then we can as well do away with the tribunals and save ourselves precious time and money. NIGERIA ARMY NEVER SEEM TO LEARN You cannot put an end to a violent course, especially one with a huge and devoted crowd by taking out its leader. If you do that, the crowd will declare war on you. Why does our military keep making the same mistake? On Saturday last weekend, the Nigerian Army confirmed it had a violent encounter with members of the Shiite Islamic Faith. In the statement, the army claimed the attack form the Shiite group was a deliberate attempt to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff. The soldiers went in search of the sects’ leader Zakzaky and invaded his residence, in the process killing his wife and son during the invasion. Hearing of such news reminds me of how Boko Haram, once a troublesome sect too became the monster it is today. Zakzaky may have been arrested, but he must have some kind of resentment and hatred growing inside of him right now. That is not good because he has a good degree of influence over a devoted crowd back home. And please, someone should warn the soldiers in charge of where he is being held to be professional warn them against going trigger happy and then ending up killing the sect leader. Such event will be history repeating itself over again and we all know where that has led us to. POWER BELONGS TO US WHEN WE ARE UNITED We were united prior to the elections and the result? We voted in Change. Last week saw our unity at play once again. The so called social media bill is dead. That’s a fact and it was thanks to the unity we showed towards that course. The senate said nothing was going to stop them. But last week the Senate President in an event said there was no social media bill before the senate. That put to rest the bill. Not a single man or woman on the street or on social media was in support of that evil bill. There was no tribal or party sentiment. We all stood and said #NoToSocialMediaBill. This should teach us a lesson about unity. No matter how powerful anyone or group of politicians try to become, we can keep them under our control and we should because we voted them into office. But that can only be possible if we stay united. NIGERIA ARE U23 AFCON CHAMPIONS Save the best for last, you remember that song? hehehe. Well back to the matter, YEAH!!! We are champions! So I described Samson Siasia as the Ultimate coach last week but some friends wanted to crucify me. But he has proved himself now and I am happy for him. We are Champions and that we proved last week when the U23 Eagles defeated their Algerian counterpart on Saturday night in Senegal by 2 goals to 1. We love victories, why shouldn’t we? We are the U17 world champions and now U23 AFCON champions. We hope our beloved Super Eagles follow suit, then we can take back our rightful place in football once again. http://focusnaijaa..com.ng/2015/12/what-we-learnt-last-week-in-nigeria-7.html |
Let’s pause for a minute from this mind blowing and ‘calculator ripping ‘ Arms deal controversy called DasukiGate. Let’s pause and remember where we are. We have totally forgot that we are between the a ravaging fire and the deep blue sea and are once again the happiest people on earth. But why are we rejoicing this much over this DasukiGate. OK the revelations are enormous, I agree. It involves a lot of money, fine! But let’s pause for a minute and ask ourselves one salient question, at the end of this probe, let’s hope there will be one knowing how our judicial system works. When Dasuki and everyone else involved in this gets what they deserve, what next? Is it really going to solve our problems, will it make us exit the ‘broke countries club’? I don’t get it! Everywhere I turn, Twitter or Facebook, on the streets, everywhere it’s like our Messiah has landed or are we just drama freaks? I understand, this is different, we haven’t seen such a probe before. At least some big names are going down for sure. But my worries are we seem so into this drama that we are no longer asking questions on issues affecting our lives on a daily basis We seem to have accepted the fact that fuel scarcity have come to stay. Its almost running into its third month and we still can’t get fuel and if u do, it’s nothing less than N130 per litre. And to make it worse, the government seem powerless about the situation. There must be a way out for sure right? What about power? After all the joy and fulfilment of having ‘light’ for 16hrs a day, we are back to square one and those days seem like a distant memories now. What happened then? Why the sudden change? What went wrong? Mysteries indeed Our economy is in shambles, the statistics are all over the place. There is suffering in the land. People are being owed salaries, investors are running away. Yeah I mean ‘running’. When will the government make public its master plan or isn’t there one? So much questions begging to be asked but we are not asking anymore, why? DasukiGate of cause. OK I guess it’s more than a minute now, let me round up so we can go back to DasukiGate but the truth is why every corrupt man or woman that got us to this breaking point deserves to have the music, we have to make our government face their own music also. We vote this government into power not because we are so much in love with them but because we needed a change. And that is what I believe we all want to see. I am not asking for us to stop publicizing or celebrating this probe, all I’m asking is, once in a while let us pause for a minute and ask, where are we heading to? http://focusnaijaa..com.ng/2015/12/dasukigate-lets-pause-for-minute.html |
Another 7days gone by, it was almost a week filled with controversy, elections matters, as parties struggled to stay on top of each other, as Kogi got a new governor while Bayelsa awaits. The senate was not left out of the action too with its controversial social media bill. We also saw Samson Siasia at his best. FocusNaijaa runs down the major talking points and what we learnt from them. APC ARE IN CRISIS The APC may have won the last elections thanks to its strong campaign promises and also on the goodwill of its presidential candidate, but one major advantage it had over its fierce rival the PDP was the strong unity that exsited within its member prior to the elections. They spoke with one voice, and seemed to want the same thing ‘Change’. But fast forward to 7months into its live as the ruling party, the party has lost all that unity and cohesion and the members of the APC seem to want what is beneficial to their interest and not necessarily that of Nigerians. We have seen it play out time and again at the National Assembly and last week, we saw it play out again, first it was a prominent member of the party Senator Shehu Sani condemning the Anti- corruption war of the president simply because one of his own is at the receiving end, and it was obvious he wasn’t speaking for himself but a group within the party. These kind of speeches only goes to show the deep division that exist in the APC. Over to Kogi State, a mini crisis going on there, Bello Yahaya is the choice of the party but Mr. Faleke insist he should be candidate going into the re- run election in the state. It is just a state but point is some big wigs outside of the state are fueling this crisis. Why does the APC now find it hard to make simple decisions? Selfishness I think. Mr. Bello may have won the election and now the governor elect of Kogi but the number of disgruntled members in the party are increasing by the day. You want to know how that might end? Take a glimpse at the PDP! SIASIA REMAINS NIGERIA’S BEST COACH Amunike may have wowed us all with his swashbuckling eaglets while Sunday Oliseh is right now the bride of the NFF but Samson Siasia remains Nigeria’s best coach at the moment. Samson Siasia has led the flying Eagles in 2005 and the Olympic team to silver finishes in 2005 and 2008 respectively with the only blemishes to his glittering coaching career coming when he failed to qualify Nigeria for the Nation Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in 2012. The Bayesian state born coach is known for bringing out the best from his players in crunch matches and we witnessed that again last weekend when he led his team to qualify for the semi- final of the ongoing U23 AFCON in Senegal against a very good Algerian team. He may not have won a major trophy for Nigeria as a coach but with his ability to negotiate games like this, Samson Siasia remains Nigeria’s best coach. CARD READERS WON’S SOLVE OUR ELECTION WOES, OUR ATTITUDE WILL What makes a free and fair election? An election that is based on one man, one vote, where the majority carries the vote? If that was the full definition of a free and fair election then thumbs up to the card reader. But if an elction is deemed free and fair when everyone is allowed to cast his/her vote without fear or intimidation, violence and bribery, then we still have a long way to go as we witnessed in the Bayelsa state elections last week where violence and intimidation was reported in so many centers leading to the death of 5 people. Whoever come out victorious, such person cannot boast of winning a free and fair election. Based on what transpired at the elections in Bayelsa over the weekend, until our attitude towards elections and leadership begins to change for the better, where people are given the freedom to choose their leaders, when the politicians no longer see elections as do-or-die and when we the voters see our voting as our weapon and right and not a commodity to be traded then not even the almighty card can guarantee free and fair elections in Nigeria. PRO-BIAFRA PROTEST TURNING INTO A CRISIS It was supposed to be a peaceful protest or agitation like always, at least that has been the case with the pro-Biafra protesters but last week signaled the shift from peaceful to deadly as the protesters stormed Onitsha the capital of Anambra leaving about 9 people dead and many others injured while properties worth N50m was destroyed. With the pro-Biafra protesters rumored to be coming over to the South West and the OPC giving a stern warning against it, it looks like huge battlefield is being drawn and this agitation may end up being something else altogether. While the carrot and stick approach of the government is commendable, it needs to step in quickly and devise a methodology of how to stop this from becoming a full blown crisis like we have seen in the past with the militancy and now the Boko Haram menace. NOT ALL PROGRESSIVES TRULY BELIEVE IN PROGRESS Members of the APC call themselves progressives, something I for one seem bemused about. But last week something was trending for days. #NoToSocialMediaBill and you may just be forgiven for thinking I talking about Turkey or Saudi Arabia or even North Korea. That’s because in those countries freedom is limited. But when such topic is trending in Nigeria, a country that calls itself the giant of Africa and rightly so too, then something is definitely wrong somewhere. Last week, an APC senator, a so called progressive, Bala Ibn Na’allah proposed a bill, an anti-media bill on the floor of the senate chambers and backed by three of his progressives colleagues. The bill he said is aimed at prohibiting frivolous petitions and accusation and also preventing the spread of falsehood, with an offender facing terms in jail. But in truth this bill looks strange because the APC rode onto power on the back of free press and at times even took part in the spread of falsehood. The social media played an important part in their victory and they acknowledged that too. The Nigerian constitution already dealt with issues relating to treason, defamation and libel, so why criminalize it any further? Or is it simply an act of trying to intimidate some targeted few? What are these senators trying to hide? We voted Progressives into power, it’s high time they started acting it! Let’s all join hands and KILL this bill. Let’s all say #NoToSocialMediaBill. |
Word brother! Thumbs up! We have a problem!... A serious problem! We the youths are clueless, too proud and too power hungry... No one wants to listen, those who listen, only did so they can attack those who didn't. And I'm not referring to just a tribe but all tribes... Ain't you guys tired of this hate towards each other? The igbo claim to be industrious, yet the economy of the country is nothing to write home about, the yoruba boast about intelligence yet not a single university is among the top 1,000 in the world. The hausa are powerful, yet Nigeria is nowhere near the powerful nation in the world... We should all hide our head in shame.. Well as the saying goes 'in the land of the blind, the one eye man is king'. The problem is we seem to have 3 one eyed men. |

In a week that was filled with drama, climax and anti-climax, from the burial of a great woman to that of a man who just a day before his death was certain he would governor the next week. From a seemingly boring verbal attack on a president by a sitting governor to rape scandal involving the son of a late governorship aspirant. It was truly a week to remember. FocusNaijaa highlight some of the key events and what we learnt from them. H.I.D FINALLY GOES HOME After a lying in state at her Lagos and Ibadan residences that lasted for three days, the burial activities of HID Awolowo finally wound down on Wednesday at her home town in Ikenne, Ogun state as she was laid to rest the same day that coincided with the date she would have celebrated her 100th birthday. Late Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo was the wife of former Premier of the old western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The Matriarch died at her residence on the 19th of September after she reportedly presided over the family meeting on her proposed centenary birthday party. HID Awolowo was buried beside her husband in a damask cloth she bought 36years ago for the very purpose. She was buried in a gold casket. RIP MAMA FAYOSE IS FAST BECOMING BORING In other countries, when a governor verbally attacks the president of the country by calling him a liar, I’m just trying to imagine how the headlines would look like. U will definitely get something like this, “shocker as governor Akpororo calls president kweli kweli a liar. Yeah, that’s the gravity of it. But when Fayose called Buhari a liar last week, not so many media outfits carried the news with the gravity that such news should have. And do not blame them as we all are now used to it. Fayose verbal attack on the president started way before the election that saw Buhari become the president of Nigeria. He once referred to the president, then a presidential candidate as an old man who is likely wearing pampers. In his latest rent, he accuse the president of lying about looted funds which the president said has been returned. He went further to say that his (president Buhari) government were that of ‘deceitful change’. Whatever Fayose is trying to achieve with his constant verbal attacks, we on the outside are beginning to find it one too many and also BORING. DAVID MARK IS NOT SO UNTOUCHABLE AFTERALL Just like a certain Lionel Messi at his very best, yeah I’m a die-hard football fan, Untouchable seem to be the best word to describe senator David Mark until last week when his election victory was annulled by the Appeal Court. From being accused of corruption practices whilst as senate president to accusation that he has never won an election free and fair, no one had been able to get hold of the Benue State born senator. But on Friday last week, the court of appeal sitting in Markurdi annulled the election of the immediate past senate president and ordered a fresh elections within 90days. David Mark’s election victory was challenged by the APC’s candidate at the tribunal but had his petition dismissed before heading to the Supreme Court. But just like a confident warrior, David Mark has since boasted he would win the election if conducted 100times over. Hmm all I can say is, slow down Mark the (UN) touchable, a new sheriff is in town. UNLIKE THE NORM, NOT EVERYONE CRIES WHEN SOMEONE DIES It is believed that when someone dies, something bad has happened, so everyone is expected to wear a sad face, even if you secretly had wished the person dead. But last weekend a certain lady broke the norm, she was rejoicing over the death of Audu Abubakar. Umm in case u just came back from Mars today, let me rush you through the details. Audu Abubakar was the governorship aspirant of the APC in Kogi State. He died just a day after the election he contested in was declared inconclusive by INEC. Then not long after the news of his death hit the social media, #sugabelly, I have checked and checked but couldn’t get her real name. Well lets stick with sugabelly, funny name huh? #sugabelly was celebrating all over social media. Huh! Did she kill the man? No she didn’t. Did she hate the man that much? Apparently yes and even his children too. But why? Well she accused Audu Abubakar sons of gang raping her with their friends. And last week she published a long and detailed account of her devastating experience in the hands of the Audu’s. A claim Mustapha has since denied. Mustapha’s wife has also joined in the feud and it seem to be getting messier by the day. Hopefully it ends soon. BOKO HARAM NOW USING ‘TRAINED’ ABDUCTEES FOR SUICIDE MISSIONS When news filtered in that a bomb blast had gone off when a suicide bomber blew himself up among a Shia procession on their way to Zaria, it was received with the same nonchalant attitude as always. The bomber’s accomplice was arrested though and confessed that they were sent by Boko Haram. He also said they were part of the young men abducted last year by the sect in Mubi, Borno state and they have been receiving military training since then. He confessed that they were sent to Kano 11 days ago and kept in a house specifically for that attack. What kind of military training will make a young man accept to blow himself up even when he had the chance to escape? We definitely have a huge battle in our hands and it doesn’t seem to involve bomb and gun.
