SalamRushdie:Just let go of him bro, like most of them here, he clearly doesn't understand the new policy and how it will affect the average man. Its a pity anyway. |
Mccullum:Heaven help those who help themselves. The backwardness of Africa stinks to the high heavens. Even God must be angry with us. |
An exclusive report by The Authority has revealed how President Buhari requested for the 30-page memo written by Kaduna State Governor, Nair El- Rufai, which was leaked to the press a few days ago. The report indicates that President Buhari had met with El-Rufai in Daura on September 13, 2016 and during the meeting asked the El-Rufai to put his thoughts on and analysis of government performance in writing. Thus, Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s memo in which he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take urgent proactive steps to revamp his administration was at the behest of the President himself. Some members of the Cabal in the Presidency, who are scheming for relevance and seeking the ears of President Buhari, are using the memo to get back at el-Rufai, who is not in their good books. In the memo, el-Rufai, in very blunt terms, had told the President: “Our APC administration has not only failed to manage the expectations of a populace that expected over night ‘change’ but has failed to deliver even mundane matters of governance outside of our successes in fighting BH insurgency and corruption”. The forces against el-Rufai reportedly leaked the confidential memo and made it to look like el-Rufai had turned against Buhari – while the President himself requested the memo from el-Rufai, reputed to be a member of his kitchen cabinet. The plot against el-Rufai is part of the intrigues, confusion, in-fighting and scheming for power and relevance going on in the Presidency as members of the Cabal realign their forces to maintain their hold on power given the President’s ill- health. Sources conversant with the issues confided to the paper that Buhari requested the memo from el- Rufai, contrary to speculations that El-Rufai acted on his own volition in initiating the memo. The sources that were privy to the origin of the memo said that el-Rufai had, during his Sallah homage to Buhari at Daura on September 13, 2016, engaged the president on the state of the nation. “The President was impressed with El-Rufai’s analysis of the problems confronting the administration and the suggestions as to what the president needed to do to deliver. It was at that point that the president asked him to put his thoughts on paper for him,” said the source. Sources confirmed to The AUTHORITY that El Rufai consulted widely, aware that the memo could be misconstrued and used against him. “His exact fears have played out. And like we feared the president has refused to speak up. If he did the sail would have been taken out of the plot. But this is the nature of the President. Like in Magu’s case, he was messed up by the Cabal, without the pres ident lifting a finger,” said the source. The Sallah encounter came just weeks after the Arewa Con sultative Forum (ACF) had, in a meeting with the president, raised the issues that el-Rufai would also raise. The ACF impressed on the president the need to sack the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abba Kyari and the Secretary to Government of the Federation Engineer David Lawal for “sheer incompetence” and lack of administrative capacity. A permanent secretary from the north east is helping the SGF, the same way Ambassador Babagana Kingibe is helping out Abba Kyari. The follow up between the president and the ACF has severally been scuttled by the Chief of Staff. Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed, the joint secretary of the party, has since moved on. He is now the Chief of Staff to Senator Bukola Saraki. The sources confirmed that although the memo was ready before the flag off of the Edo State governorship election, which the president attended, Governor El Rufai didn’t submit it because he wanted to consult further and wider. Convinced about the noble intentions behind the memo, and the fact that the president himself asked for it, he finally sent the memo. Governor El-Rufai has never been popular with those around the president. He was once a strong critic of the president, but once he became convinced that Goodluck Jonathan must be defeated, he switched and became a fanatical supporter of Buhari. Sources told The AUTHORITY that the decision to ask el-Rufai to contest the governorship of Kaduna State was to “tactically get rid of him”. The Cabal reasoned that if El-Rufai wasn’t the governor of Kaduna State, it would have been difficult to stop him from becoming the Chief of Staff. omojuwa.com/2017/03/exclusive-president-buhari-asked-el-rufai-write-leaked-memo-daura-meeting/ |
kuuljay:first look yourself in the mirror bro. When the judges home were ransacked, you guys saw the DSS as the best thing that ever happened to us. Not that I care but I'm just irritated by the 'stupid' politics being played in Nigeria. More irritated by the fact that ordinary Nigerians are taking part in it. |
You need to get your kitchen cabinet fixed ASAP. The pipes are all bad, and there is water all over the place. You need to act fast otherwise you will drown. |
Emjay1310:The same way Buhari said Ministers are not important. Wehdone sir. We are watching una from a high places. |
Omo this party called APC, maybe they are doing all these on purpose. Something can not be this bad na. It defies logic. |
You know that feeling when a movie becomes unnecessarily long and boring... Thats how I feel right now. Naija matter don tire me abeg! |
Governors, Senators okay we already know their shady nature, but how about the DSS? The President oversees its activities. Although I know the National assembly members are corrupt but this 'corruption is fighting back' thing is being used to cover up the obvious incompetence in the part of Buhari and his team. |
Progressive01:lets paint a pic here according to your write up. The senate is not accountable, the executive and its agencies are also not accountable, who suffers? Its you and I my friend. You understand now, don't you? Good! |
Jaideyone:why write a conflicting report in the first place. Like Mugu said, that speaks volume of the integrity of DSS. The blame should be put squarely on the feet of Buhari. He did nothing when the first one happened. The question is why? |
jumpandpas:that he didn't pay for it with his money. It was given to him for use because of its closeness to his workplace. |
jumpandpas:But that has already been explained by the presidency. |
President wants Magu but the cabals don't. The cabals are using The DSS, an agency under the control of the president to carry out its aim. Does this make any sense at all? But its the reality! I'm beginning to believe the Buhari the APC sold to use during the campaigns doesn't exist. |
Elnino4ladies:Nonsense Senate yes but how about the DSS? How about the president who didnt call anyone to order for submitting conflicting reports on Magu. |
The president wants Magu, but the cabals don't. The cabals are using an agency under the control of the president to achieve their aim. Phew! This plot doesn't even make any sense to me the writer but its the reality. In the past, I know of DSS being used to frustrate the opposition but here we have the DSS frustrating the govt its working for. This is a new one o. |
I dey laugh o |
The NFF president has been directed to support the Cameroonian despite his intention to vote for Madagascar's Ahmad. In a new twist ahead of the Caf elections that will take place on Thursday, March 16, in Addis Ababa, the Nigerian government has ordered its delegation to vote for incumbent Issa Hayatou despite its previous choice of challenger Ahmad of Madagascar. According to an AFP report, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo asked NFF chief Amaju Pinnick to support the Cameroonian who is seeking to extend his 29-year reign at the top of African football for diplomatic reasons. Cameroon’s government had backed the Nigerian effort to quash the terrorist group Boko Haram that created an enclave in the border area of both countries and Chad. A multinational force was needed to dislodge the group that held more than two hundred school girls captive. Pinnick, who is also contesting for a place on the Caf Executive Committee, has been in the forefront of a campaign to stop Hayatou from continuing in office, with Ahmad the beneficiary. However, the Nigeria government has now taken a position for Hayatou, as the NFF delegation arrived in Addis Ababa on Monday to intensify campaigns. “There is an existing joint relationship between Nigeria and Cameroon and most recently both countries collaborated in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency,” said an unnamed high ranking member of the Nigerian government quoted by the AFP in Abuja. “We can’t afford to jeopardize this relationship. “Pinnick has therefore been ordered to cast his vote for Hayatou even if every other country failed to do so, as Nigeria does not owe Madagascar anything.” This election is the most hotly contested since Hayatou became president in 1988. It is seen as a shift towards to a more progressive and forward-minded organization by the young Turks who want to bring an end to the 70-year-old’s time at the helm of Caf. Ahmad has gotten the backing of the 14-member Council of Southern African Football Associations and several other FA chiefs across the continent. "We have to follow the path of the rest of the world, as Africa cannot afford to be left behind. I believe that Africa is ready for change. This is the first time in the history of (Hayatou's) Caf that there is a real and possible challenge to the leadership," Liberia FA chief Musa Bility told the BBC on Monday. It is also believed that Fifa president Gianni Infantino, who met several African chiefs in Harare, Zimbabwe, last month, and his secretary general Fatma Samoura are in favour of a change. Pinnick told CNN in February that there were problems between Infantino and Hayatou since the latter’s decision to support Sheikh Salman of Bahrain during the Fifa elections in 2016. This order exposes the lack of autonomy of many African football federations. But since Article 18.1 of the Caf Statutes declare that the elections shall be secret ballot, it is left to see if Pinnick will follow his government’s order or hold onto his convictions. Kenya FA boss Nick Mwendwa, who failed to declare his choice, told Goal: “It is a secret ballot. People should only wait to see results after elections.” m.goal.com/s/en-ng/news/4055/main/2017/03/13/33604722/caf-election-nigeria-government-orders-pinnick-to-vote-for |
OP, topics like this need alot of research. Did you do any research at all? What is the average salary of pastors in Nigeria? You don't just call it a high paying job cos you know one or two people doing well in it. There are some topics that are no go area especially for low budget bloggers. |
kunlexy1759:A simple Buhari is in UK receiving treatment would have been better than lying. Its never okay to lie just to save face expecially if you are in leadership position. Because you need people to trust your words and also because there is always a take away from every event. Fayose? Umm what's the name of that room that Trump always enters when making calls, Foyose is in his, patiently waiting for Buhari's call nau...lol #kidding |
xstry:Sigh! |
Finally, the president is back, walking on his own feet unlike what some people predicted, that's a relief and I'm happy. Like what a Nairalander said, atleast we can now 'face front'. He was spot on because although Osinbajo did okay in Buhari's absence, we were all distracted. There has been a lot of soul searching, people putting out moral lessons learned, and all that, but I'm baffled that no one has called out the officials of govt who continuously lied to us that the president was hale and hearty and was chilling in London because Buhari himself sincerely told us he underwent blood transfusion. More shocking to me is that his vice, Osinbajo, a respected pastor LIED to us also. What does the silence on this issue mean? That it is okay to lie? Perhaps! Recall the US presidential elections, we all witness how Donald Trump was continuously bashed for his supposedly low moral values. Although he won, which is another topic altogether, but we all saw how much morality mean to them. Surprising, Trump recently fired his Security adviser, and for what? For LYING! But in Nigeria everything goes as long as you come out top. Right now no one cares because Buhari's return has shut down the mouth of the 'wailers, the 'haters' and according to Femi Adesina, the mischief makers. But one thing is sure, a govt that rode into power on a promise to fight corruption should have very strong and high moral standards. Lying and false information shouldn't be tolerated. The people of Delta state took some deserved bashing when videos of them celebrating the return of an unrepentant ex- convict surfaced online. We spent days talking about the height of moral decay we are currently witnessing in Nigeria. This act by the officials of govt falls right into that category. Ope Banwo, a very vocal lawyer and staunch supporter of Buhari has withdrawn his support because of the moral decay in this administration. The truth is, you may not withdraw your support for this govt but every morally upright person, a #1 die-hard supporter or otherwise, needs to take a step back and ask this govt out loud or within, don't you have any morals? |
Anyway, Buhari while you were away, Arsenal did a 'perfect' double over Bayern Munich. Losing 5-1 and 1-5. Class act!!! |
nessy19:seriously? You just wrote this...wow! |
when I saw odd, I was expecting to see 24hrs power supply, the sky turns red etc. These are normal things that happen when it rains nau. Or am I missing something? |
yusufibrahim:why would PSG agree to fix the match. Remember they sacked their former coach cos the team wasn't strong in Europe. Why would they agree to have the match fixed when they finally had the chance of making a statement in Europe. |
wait guys... This is a blog post? It is oh! Weldone OP. New blog post: it rained in Lagos today, but the rain has stopped. |
'She immediately wondered what her father must be thinking'... Really ![]() |
Someone here referred to OBJ as a living legend. Nawao! Everything about Nigeria is just somehow. From the government to the governed. |
MarshRiley:make I follow you drop abeg. I no go again too. This is the height of it. Just see how irritating the news is. |
'It couldn't have been a bribe because #500,000 is too little to be considered a bribe'. - Buhari fans. That's why it's better to have your loyalty to the state than on a single individual. If not you might go totally insane trying to defend him. |
Nigerians are no long bothered! But are now laughing at the stupidity of these men. Even the most loyal of Buhari's supporters must have felt ashamed after watching that video. |
