SIBF: The problem of Nigeria and other Africa countries is Democracy. The moment Europeans force it on any African countries, hence its collapse look at Libya, Nigeria etc. What most people don't know is that Africans and Arabs have the same ancestral background as such their society is patriarchal from the start. If Democracy hasn't been forced on some naturally blessed African countries like Nigeria, Libya, she'd have developed to the pace of Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi etc. The colonials(Europeans) only came to steal their resources and makes them inferior in thinking, then cause tribal feuds among them. There's no gainsaying that the major economic development witnessed in this country was done by the military government.
Africa in the face of Europeans is like someone that was thrown inside a ditch, and whilst he tries to come out, the Europeans stand at the top of the ditch and keeps firing her with an arrow so as never to come out.
Most people just clamour about while Africa is not developed not knowing that she was a victim of colonial masters.
Yes! Europeans will never allow Africa to develop in their face. It's a sad reality!
Only Northern Africa has escape this dungeon since they form an alliance with middle eastern nations - MENA. As such they are being supported heavily by the rich Arab nations. Just look at development going in in Egypt, Morroco, Algeria, Mauritius, Seychelles etc.
Go read the Berlin conference of 1884-85 where the fate of Africa was determined by European nations while no Africa nations/leaders were present. Go read books like; How Europe underdeveloped Africa, What Britain did to Nigeria, Africa in Bondage etc. The issue is deeper than what you see on TV. The book below is a must read! You're right sir, even South Korea, Singapore witnessed their fastest development during the military era of the '80s. But the world has moved past the last century,so we can't afford to go back to military rule, democracy is here to stay and we'll all make it work. I've often wonder why history is not part of our curriculum anymore, we need it more now. We can't allow our people to learn our history from the white man, it's not proper. |

LasgidyPort: Doing that quota is what a lot of people find difficult to do.
Nigerians behave so badly and then want leadership to automatically provide a civil and sane society for them out of the blues.
Nigerians cannot wait in line for anything. They by themselves over the years corrupted the public services by their hasty attitude to get things done ahead of others by any means possible.
The so called decadence happening in Nigeria was caused by Nigerians themselves not people from Pluto.
Apple's come from apples.
The so called leadership, myopic people are trying to lay the blame on are also from the people.
95% of Naija people are morally defective is the simple reason we have been getting bad leadership. The rest talking from the back have just not been availed the opportunity to dip their hands in the cookie jar, some of them are worse!
The British developed Britain Americans developed America. The Japanese developed Japan.
The Chinese 're currently developing their country and taking millions of their people out of poverty.
Nigerians, the ball is in your court to also develop your country. Well said man, well said. |

Reflect7: Another dumb, illiterate response.
Firstly, it is ignorant beyond comprehension comparing a city, 'Dubai' to a country.
Do you even know that Dubai is a city and not a country?
How and why should Nigeria - country - look like the city of Dubai, you dumbass knucklehead?
And for those who know better, the UAE, of which Dubai is its capital, has a population of 9 million, yet is 7th in world oil exports, compared to Nigeria which is 11th.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_oil_production
UAE has three times Nigeria's oil reserves, and exports around 4 million barrels a day, compared to Nigeria's 1.7 million.
Nigeria has 220 million people to cater for.
UAE, 9 million.
Simple, basic mathematics shows It is the HEIGHT OF INSANITY AND IGNORANCE to say that Nigeria ought to be as prosperous as the UAE based on its oil revenue. Kudos to you bro, well explained and critically detailed. |

I know it's really hard for Nigerians to love their country because of the way things are going, and the not caring attitude of our leaders. But the inferiority complex is too much, Reflect7 has mentioned so many reasons as to the development of other countries that are way ahead of us, but many of us just decide to believe that being white means being superior which is not so.
I would have called you lot white supremacist but you're not even white, heck you're a black man like me. As much as I don't agree to his words on government action towards diversification, but the guy has said nothing but the truth. Many people don't even know Africa's history and how we got to this level, all they just want to see is miracle. Most SouthAsian countries are still developing economies like ours but they love their country and are good compatriots, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam et al. Other countries in Africa that are as bad as ours still believe in their country, DR Congo is a good example. Let's stop the hatred of our fathers land and our skin color, it won't do us any good neither will it make things better.
We need to change the way we reason in this country, if we all lose hope in the country and believe it's not going to get better, honestly it won't. But we can all keep doing our quota to making this country a better place, discourage voting apathy, and if you want to travel abroad that's also good you can use the money earned to establish businesses back home. |

Karleb: A lot of people are like you but they didn't even try to improve on their spoken English.
In my secondary school I could write any English I could imagine but speaking was a great problem because I rarely speak the language. I attended a public secondary school where we rarely speak English. Pre-university, the only time I spoke very good English were the 2 years I spent in a private primary school.
The university coupled with my church, RCCG changed everything for me tho. It's either you speak English or you keep quiet or you end up embarrassing yourself because people will question your quality of education as a young fellow if you speak bad English in those environments and they also encourage the proper usage of the language.
It's one of those reasons why I love mingling with non-yoruba people, I enjoy speaking English and pidgin with them.
The English language do frustrate me atimes tho, especially the Nigerian English we speak. Personally I still prefer yoruba.
I must confess sha, having good command of English language will increase your confidence especially in today's Nigeria compared to when you have a bad command of it especially as a graduate.
I still dey shoot gun small small sha but I no dey shake. Honestly, I quite agree with most of the things you wrote. It boosts confidence, no doubt and it gets better when surrounded by good speakers of the language. |

BSdetective: Hmmm, the thing is that what if you're wrong and God actually exists along with the afterlife, along with a heaven and a hell? Aren't you afraid of the outcome if you end up being wrong? Let me demystify that for you, hell and heaven is like stick and carrot approach. You must have heard of that before I presume. If you're a bad person or like we say "coconut head" or willing to go out of the teachings of your religion, then hell is what will make you rethink and make you fall back in line. If you're the other way round, the thing that will be giving you joy and keeping you in line is heaven, it's the reward for being a good follower of christ and you will not want to desist from your good ways knowing fully well that everlasting happiness and joy is waiting for you in heaven. This is the way they keep most people in line of religion whether Abrahamic(Jew, Islam, Christianity) or Eastern religion (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc). I'll mention another flaw in your fear of hell, what if you're wrong about your God? You yourself know there are over a hundred religion on earth, what if one of this gods is the true God and not jesus christ? Maybe you intend to practice all religion or just leave them all together and live your life as you pleases without the fear of one heaven Daddy. Look bro, religion is man-made and it cloud your judgment over many things, if you still want to believe billions of Muslims, hinduist and other countless religious people that have died, living and yet to be born are all going to hell, no problem in that. But I will implore you to make your own little research and see what you can find on the internet. |

Their elites need this, reason is to discourage education and make sure that they are still under their control. An educated mind cannot be enslaved, so they use illiteracy to enslave them and religion to control them. Though we still have this kind of structure throughout the country, but the situation is more worse in the north. |

seunny4lif: Arab should be on the list because it’s language by people from the Northern Africa. I don’t how those people can’t speak other languages like the rest of Africa countries.
Igbo language should be number 1 because I think we have more Igbo people in USA than Yoruba people. My observation The arabian culture is ingrained in most of their culture, it's what they've been speaking since the 8th century, and the language has diffused into their own indigenous language. Most of them speak different versions of arabic and the way they pronounce some words differ from each other. |

I subscribed for 4G plan 3 days ago, when I checked my remaining plan today,it was 1.5G. I slept for about 4hours without disconnecting my data and when I checked again I saw 4MB. I subscribed again this time 6G and after surfing the web for about an hour,I got a message that my remaining balance was 500MB.
Could I have tampered with a particular setting unknowingly or what could be the problem?
My phone is Infinix Smart 5 and I'm using Airtel network. Download the glasswire app, and check your data usage. You'll surely find the app responsible for the high usage of your data and block the app. I was having same issues until i did same thing and solved the problem. In my case it was this Google app.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Man Utd Post Biggest Transfer Loss In Past Decade With €1bn Net Spend. by Readability(op): 8:05am On Feb 08, 2022 |
The Red Devils have been joined by 13 other English clubs in the top 20 list for the biggest negative net transfer spending in the last 10 years.
Manchester United have posted the biggest transfer loss in Europe's five major leagues over the past decade with a net spend of over €1 billion (£846m/$1.14bn). United picked up their last Premier League title in 2012-13 under Sir Alex Ferguson, and have only won three major trophies since despite investing heavily in new players. A new study published by the Football Observatory has outlined just how profligate the Red Devils have been in the transfer market over the past 10 years as they sit top of the list for the highest negative net spending.
United's net expenditure
United have spent €1.5 billion (£1.3bn/$2bn) on new players between 2012 and the present day, with €467m (£395m/$534m) recouped in sales.
Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona complete the top four, all of whom have picked up five or more domestic titles compared to United's solitary success.
Where did the other English clubs place?
United and City have been joined by 12 other English clubs on the list, including Arsenal - who come in fifth with a net spend of €583m (£489.7m/$666m)
Everton (€429m), Aston Villa (€424m) and Chelsea (€413m) have made the top 10, while West Ham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Brighton and Wolves have also posted negative numbers.
United's most costly signings
United signed Robin van Persie from Arsenal for €28m (£24m/$32m) ahead of the 2012-13 season, which proved to be a masterstroke as he fired the club to their 13th Premier League crown.
The club's subsequent big-money additions have been far less successful, though, with Ferguson's successor David Moyes adding Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata for a combined €77m (£65m/$88m).
Louis van Gaal then invested €71m (£60m/$81m) in Angel Di Maria, who spent only one season at Old Trafford, and €40m (£34m/$46m) in Anthony Martial among a whole host of other signings that ultimately failed to deliver success.
A club record €105m (£89m/$120m) fee was later paid out for Paul Pogba's return from Juventus under Jose Mourinho and Romelu Lukaku joined the club for €89m (£75m/$102m) while United's last permanent boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer oversaw a €95m (£80m/$109m) deal for Harry Maguire and a €86m (£73m/$98m) Jadon Sancho coup.
The Norwegian also brought Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club last summer along with Raphael Varane, but ended up being sacked in November, and his interim replacement Ralf Rangnick is still searching for a winning formula as United toil to recreate the glory days.
