GEJ is gradually inviting the army to take over from him soonest.

Point of correction, this is a prelude to the Army taking over.
Just sit back and watch and contribute positively to events as they keep coming.
We are going to use the power of INFORMATION to ease the government out of their MISERY.

If she was giving out FREE, then i think others should emulate so that we can actually complete this non-violent REVOLUTION once and for all.

At this juncture it has become IMPERATIVE that the NLC acts and action be checked so that they would not CIRCUMVENT our MANDATE.
(mandate: REVERT pump price to N65 and remove the SUBSIDY on CORRUPT practices)

Nigeria is about to crash!
So we are told.
It is only the REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY that can save Nigeria from crashing!
So we are told.

What about the issue of CORRUPTION, that cantankerous worm that has been a hydra-headed monster inhibiting the growth of Nigeria?

Subsidy removal is a short term solution for a long term problem.

Imagine, inflicting more HARDSHIP to people that has been long suffering and suffering for long.
Even if the REMOVAL is the LIFE-LINE of Nigeria as an entity, caution must be the keyword.

ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY!
Nigeria ills cannot be corrected using a stop-gap policy.
Removal must be SYSTEMATIC AND GRADUAL with emphasis on nipping corruption and corrupt acts.
Politics / Re: Three New Refineries Coming Says Works Minister by reagand200(m): 10:15pm On Jan 08, 2012
The Federal Government should bow its head in shame:

They can be likened to a sinking man.
The CABAL Government has held the TIGER BY ITS TAIL.
We shall be subsidized only after the Government has been DEREGULATED.
They should hands off from CRUDE OIL TRADING,and let reputable Nigerian professionals take over since they cant make good use of the proceeds.

                      Tomorrow is our INDEPENDENT day!

@ IKd, you were wrong on Alj Harem. Period.

However remember that uneasy lies the head that wears the crown and modern technology has made communication available for everybody.
Please dont get me wrong.
Alj has all the while on this thread been trying to caution those that are pouring vituperation on our dear Once-loved President.
Forum members should kindly caution themselves and reduce this act until maybe after tomorrow's protest.

The first question the man on the street ask me after much explanation as to  why we have to DOWN TOOLS on Monday/09/2012 is:

WHERE IS THE PROTEST HOLDING?
ANY EXACT LOCATION?

Now, who will answer such A PIN-POINT question?

Let The ACTION-PLAN towards the EMANCIPATION of our be-corrupted country begin!

The Future Can Start here and, with NAIRALAND active (not passive) members making a clear cut STATEMENT/STAND now!!

GOD FORBID WE TO BE ANALYZING ON MONDAY RATHER THAN BEING ACTIVE!!

I don’t think arguing with Beaf or raining abuse on his Excellency Goodluck Jonathan will change the tide of events that has been in trends for as long as we all know.
Nigeria’s problems are multifaceted and only a principled and silent revolution can overturn the present ills boldly staring at our face.
Some of the problems are hidden problem( the NIGERIAN MENTALITY thing), this takes 30%.
Primarily, CORRUPTION, rapid POPULATION growth , and lack of VISIONARY LEADERS metamorphosed into UNEMPLOYMENT, TERRORISM, INSECURITY etc etc…
Let us not be deceived by the popular saying that our country is full of “milk and honey” and that we are richly blessed with OIL.
NO.
The truth is that we are the GIANT OF AFRICA , a title more based on our ability to supply human materials needed all over the world for mostly menial labour than our economic value.
At this juncture I will want to state categorically here that Mr President was never the originator of the problem and cannot be expected to solve it(except of course the Nigerian thing, placing too much of hope on one personality-the PRESIDENT).
In the words of JFK: ask what you can do for your country”.
At times like this I believe, Nigeria, being one of the most religious country in the world, we should seek for extraordinary means to tackle a stubborn perennial issue.
My fellow Nigerians, I know that a SURGICAL operation is painful but its necessary at times for a lasting solution to unwanted PAINS.
We are at PAINS now, not at WAR.
His EXCELLENCY was not the ALFA of the rot, thus cannot be expected to be the OMEGA.
He is only trying to do what others cannot do, that is , tell NIGERIAN the PLAIN TRUTH about the putrescent state of the NATION. Past regime has been shying away with their half-truth policies.
As somebody said earlier, we should BEAR the pains NOW so that the UNBORN will not question our RESOLVE.
Let’s not forget that even the first world country like America also had a RECESSION period in the 30s and EUROPE recession begins this YEAR 2012, and they are already looking forward to it with Gusto.
Lets pick the GAUNTLET now and see how we can make Nigeria our own without being violent. Lets think outside the box and proffer solutions and be role model for FUTURE NAIRALANDERS. Think and imagine yourself sitting on the President seat first before posting.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Remember that the FUTURE is yours for the taking.
Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the YEAR of REALITY!

I did confirm his Demise from a mutual friend with initial E.A.
In her word :"Dat xmas day,he send me a bd message
Nd ask me wht type of sleep drugs wil he take
I told him i dnt knw
So i ask him wht is wrong with him
He said his head
So i told him 2 buy panador extra
After taking it he should rest
2 words in d evening he started send bad messages
So i cal him,bt he didnt pick my cal
So i send him text message 2 encourage him
No reply
I cal nd cal, nobody is pick my cal
Til 26
I waz stil calin nobody pick

Den his sister pick nd told me he is dead
I shouted
So my dear dat is it
Even d guy dat stay with him travel 2 d village"

Well, i think with this affirmation from a mutual friend to the man, the speculation can be put to a rest.
Politics / Re: Bomb Blast: A Burden We Must Live With – Jonathan by reagand200(m): 9:06pm On Dec 26, 2011
Too bad that all the people who really know how to run the country are busy driving taxi cabs, cutting hair and concocting intelligent comments on NAIRALAND.

For how long shall we continue dissipating our dear energy commenting and counter-commenting without taking adequate steps and action towards complementing the efforts of the CLUELESS and INSENSITIVE government.
What kinda legacy are we going to leave for the generation yet unborn.
The Gift of LIFE is to contribute more than you have reaped from this thing called life.
My own contribution, my advice, :
1. Since NAIRALANDERS are a subset of intelligentsia, let us arrange a PUBLIC FORUM/DEBATE on selected current issues of disturbing nature.
2. Set-up a kind of NGO HOTLINE (first of its kind), with the aims of subduing the activities of terrorist groups and combine it with the superior advantage of Information technology to tackle this menace.
3, less talk(for now) and more pro-activeness .
4 , more action
5, and yet action

Please feel free to add more forward-moving positive and action-fuelled contribution/advice.
Let the ball roll pls.
Religion / Bomb Explosion Rocks St Theresa's Catholic Church At Madala, Niger State. by reagand200(m): 10:51am On Dec 25, 2011
A bomb explosion has just rocked ST THERESA'S catholic church at Madala, near Suleja , Niger state!
Church Building and Adjoining building on fire too,
Casualty figures, not yet known as at the time of posting,
eye witness says device was planted in a car parked at the church's parking lot

Source: Via AIT  breaking news !

Can anyone confirm and give an update.
We need to fight the canker worm called religious bigotry and fundamentalism with everything we have got at our disposal.
Fellow Nairaland , whats the way forward?
How do we curb the excesses.
Can prayer alone save us from this uncouth trend.
Should the churches or religious organizations fold hands and pray without taking some measured actions to check this brazen acts carried out by our so called "brothers in faith".

post your comment and please focus on finding a lasting solution to this menace.
Business / Re: How are you finding using Internet in Nigeria - Share Your Experiences by reagand200(m): 11:50pm On Dec 20, 2011
As i am writing this i am using a WIFI connection and the up-time and speed are quite remarkable.
Its a relatively new biz but it has come to stay, at least, in my area .
However @op, you may need to focus on the loose areas that need tightening-up .
You may also need to relate with people that have started the service albeit small scale.
Consider forfeiting that "HOT SPOT" terms and make it available to homes(HOME SPOT wink) at a minimal cost.
You may test it in your area first and try to reach out to the market by strictly following the economics of :

weighing and balancing the cost of operation (COO) to the service Charge (SC).
Other Indexes are Flexibility, i mean ease of access, and finally, meeting the TARGET AUDIENCE.

That's my contribution.
Good Innovation !

Its a vice versa kind of a thing when you look at it from an unbiased perspective. That very point in time that you are cheating, what do you think your stable partner is doing? Eating, Sweeping, Sleeping or F*@#king?
Your guess is not as good as mine.
If you think you are a smart cheater, wait until you get the shock of your life from your cheatee grin because eventually everybody is one form of a cheat or the other.
What goes around comes around.

Romance / Re: What Are The Most Important Reasons For You To Get Married? by reagand200(m): 8:07pm On Dec 11, 2011
@orikinla. You are da bomb.
Yeah tell em.
I think most people ambition on earth is to go cleave and pro-create and add to the pop explosion, then abuse the government of the day as being corrupt or inept.
Marriage is a holistic institution but trust ma people, especially the slum dwellers, they have turned it to a competition where children are bred like fowls.
No control.
The so called married women bear MRS  and use it as a get-away ticket to coded adultery/fornication (and the MR too).
Marriage should/may happen when 2 consenting/matured adults decide to settle down and stop sampling and have children as companion while contributing to the GDP or GNP and not an avenue to contribute negatively to an about-to-explode world population.

Fellow Nairalander,

Please take it easy with each other.
Fashola may have a point .
He may also have a BEEF with the LANDLORDS.
This statement may not refer to 'ordinary' landlords but to a criminal that owns a property.
Lets hold temper and watch events unfold and make our due diligence for now, ok?
