Since he's been playing less and less, Peter Odemwingie has been going off on Twitter more and more. Today he went off on the editor of Complete Sports and showed off screen grabs of their private conversation in which they exchanged harsh words. He has since deleted the Tweets but I managed to get some of it. Sorry Peter! :-) Find the private conversation from the sports editor which he shared on Twitter after the cut...

An eight-year-old schoolboy has married a 61-year-old woman because the ghost of his dead ancestor told him to. Sanele Masilela tied the knot with Helen Shabangu, who is already married and a mother-of-five. The boy, from Tshwane, South Africa, said he had been told by his dead ancestors to wed and his family, fearing divine retribution, forked out for a wedding. They paid £500 for the bride and a further £1,000 for the big day, which was organised in just two months. Dressed in a bow tie and tiny silver suit, little Sanele, the youngest of five children, exchanged rings in front of 100 guests and even puckered up for a kiss. It's already shocked the community but the family has defended the ceremony, saying it was just a ritual and not legally binding. Sanele's 46-year-old mum, Patience Masilela said: 'This is the first time this has happened in the family. 'Sanele is named after his grandfather, who was never had a white wedding before he died so asked Sanele to get married. He chose Helen because he loves her. 'By doing this we made the ancestors happy. If we hadn't done what my son had asked then something bad would have happened in the family. 'I didn't have a problem with it because I know it's what the ancestors wanted and it would make them happy.' The widow, who works at a recycling centre, added: 'I would say that this is not wrong. 'Sanele was fine and he was happy about the ceremony and it was what he wanted. He was happy to get married and very excited.' Sanele and his bride did not sign a marriage certificate and do not have to live together. Both have gone back to their normal lives. Sanele today said he hoped he would have a proper wedding to a woman his own age when he was older. He added: 'I told my mother that I wanted to get married because I really did want to. 'I'm happy that I married Helen - but I will go to school and study hard. 'When I'm older I will marry a lady my own age.' Despite being old enough to be his grandmother, bride Helen, whose children are aged between 37 and 27, was happy with the arrangement. Helen, who also works at a recycling centre, said: 'I'm married and have five kids of my own, but I know that this is what the ancestors wanted - and now they are happy. 'It is a ritual. We are just playing now, but it is a sign that he will get married one day.' Her husband of 30 years, Alfred, 65, said: 'My kids and I are happy. 'We don't have problems with it but some of the community members were shocked.' TF? Lol. See more photos from the wedding after the cut...

Talented producer and hit maker Adesanya Doyinsola better known as D’Tunes who has seen his stock rise for the past year is said to have parted ways with the “Kukere master” Iyanya and his record label Made Men Music Group (MMMG) after working with the label for over three years. D’Tunes is credited for making three of Iyanya’s biggest hits off his second album ‘Iyanya Vs Desire‘ –the smash hit ‘Kukere‘, the follow up banger ‘Ur waist‘ and the third single ‘Flavour‘. There are no concrete reason as to why both side split up but D’Tunes through his reps says he’s moving on to other tasks to accomplish as his work with MMMG was just a first step. D’tunes has set up his own production and record label outfit called Difference Entertainment and he’s signed R&B-Pop singer Sean Tizzle who already released two tracks titled “Boogie Down” and “Sho lee“.

If you live in Nigeria, then you should be familiar with this. Often times we see these plates filled with food and left on the side of the road. It's called Ebó - a ritual offering or sacrifice as dictated by divination, which sometimes involves the offerings of cooked foods. This homeless man was seen yesterday at Bakara Junction, Palm Groove, Lagos feeding on ritual food and even packing the rest inside a Nylon. Sad!

According to a report released last weekend by American lifestyle magazine, Vanity Fair, Nigerian oil Tycoon, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija owns five apartments in London’s One Hyde Park, the world’s most expensive apartment block. Vanity Fair in their report wrote that Mrs Alakija owns five apartments in the 6,000 pounds-per-square-feet apartment block which she bought at a combined fee of $123 million (N18.4billion), making her the second highest property owner in the upmarket area after Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man and owner of Ukranian football club, Shaktar Donesk, whose property is valued at $215.9 million. Others who own property at One Hyde Park include some of the richest men in Britain, Russia, Taiwan, sheiks from UAE, Naomi Campbell's boyfriend Vladislav Doronin also owns an apartment there. According to the investigation by tax haven expert, Nicholas Shaxton, who wrote the report for Vanity Fair, just 17 of the 76 sold apartments are primary residences. Because the property owners are so wealthy, many of them have other homes and do not use their exclusive Hyde Park address as their permanent home. Shaxton also revealed that many of the owners use offshore companies to buy the homes to enable them hide their identity. Ahhhhhhhh My Country Nigeria ![]()

Let me ask you guys a weird question. What percentage of Nigerian girls between 18 and 21 do you think are virgins? 1. Less than 5% 2. Less 20% 3. Less than 50% 4. Other What do you guys think? And what do you think is the major reason why young girls give it up too easily these days?

For nearly twenty years the women of Benin City, a town in the state of Edo, have been going to Italy to work in the sex trade and every year successful ones have been recruiting younger girls to follow them. Many are Africans working as prostitutes to send money home to their families. Watch the works by photographer Paolo Patrizi about migration linked to prostitution: Am still a proud Edo boy tho ![]()

February 19, 2013: There is a minor SCANDAL going on in the African nation of Nigeria. You see, Kim Kardashian was paid $500K for a 45 minute appearance in a Lagos club. Nigerians were asked to pay $640 (US dollars) to party with Kim, and take a pic with her. The average Nigerian earns a little more than $2 per day.
|
Kim is not a porn star. She had sex with her boyfriend of four years and unfortunately for her it was filmed, that doesn't make her a porn star. But I'm really annoyed that she collected so much money to come to Nigeria and only made a 20 second appearance on stage...so any article written against her concerning this concert, I will gladly publish. Here's one from Wale Odunsi. The Darey Concert: Paying Millions For The Presence Of A Porn Star - By Wale Odunsi Okay, I hardly comment on entertainment and showbiz news. I prefer to stay on the national issues/political terrain which are my jurisdiction. However, I could not hold back the temptation to do a piece on Darey’s ‘Love Like A Movie’ concert. No doubt, the LLAM held in Lagos was superb; star-studded, proper management, lights, sounds et al. In fact not a few have adjudged the show the best of its type in recent years. The ovation and positive review was not unexpected considering the artiste involved. Dude is good-looking, knows his onions, greatly talented and business oriented. See the rest after the cut... About a week to the D-day, news went viral that renowned Reality TV girl, Kim Kardashian, will be in the country as a co-host of the event. At 8:20pm of Saturday, February 16, 2013, she flew in. Trust Nigerian blogs, before her arrival, no other news existed. Even major news tabloids caught the bug. At least for three straight days, it was Kim this, Kim that. I have no beef about that. I am certain the organizers splashed plenty six or seven figures that sorta hype. And for the publicists, heavens once again beamed a wide grin at them; they must have smiled to the banks, perhaps their closets, depending on where they keep their monies. After every every, Kanye West's heartrob and baby-mama to be, left the shores of Naija just when the concert was about to start. Initially I thought she developed flu and had to quickly jet out. Soon after, I learnt she was actually invited to do what I like to tag ‘Cameo’ (a short appearance by a popular figure in a music video). At the Eko Hotels venue, the Kim simply posed for pictures with some of our local and a few international champions who clearly were star-struck; you could see it in their eyes and on their foreheads. I even spotted the wife of former Cross River governor, Onari Duke with her. LLAM number one guest was kind enough to open the show, spending a total forty seconds on stage. That was it…Chikena! In all, she was there for three-quarter of sixty minutes. By 10:20pm Sunday night, she was aboard a plane back home. The major (if not only) flaw of that outing was the presence of Kim. If it is true that she was paid hundreds of thousands of Benjamins (aka US Dollars), it would indeed be appalling. We are talking about someone who shot her way to the limelight via the now infamous sex-tape which anyone can still download on the internet for free! So for the sake of money, we’ve sent our morals, decency and integrity on vacation. Just few weeks ago, Miss Kardashian-West was paid $200,000 for a trip to Ivory Coast. She then proceeded to donate a meager $2,000 to a local orphanage, an amount less than one percent of her total financial terms (including flight, hotel and security charge). Obviously Darey and his team wanted a name that would pull the crowd out of their homes. Question: Was that the best they could come up with? Whatever happened to female celebs known for their and hard work and larger than life persona: Alicia Keys, India Arie, Adele among many others. As a humanitarian, it is sheer stupidity to think that a clique forming big boys would dole out all that money for below-an-hour attendance of an actress whose only movie to her credit is a pornographic motion picture. It would have made more sense if she stayed throughout the event, to at least justify the huge amount spend on her appearance. Charles Novia rightly noted and I wish to re-echo his statement: There was absolutely no need for Kim Kardashian at Darey’s concert. wodunsi@yahoo.com @WaleOdunsi

LOS ANGELES—Citing the positive impact it would likely have on the R&B star’s image, SavMedia publicist Erica Sandoval reportedly suggested to Chris Brown today that taking his own life could be a “really smart move” at this point in his career. “Just think about it: you’d double your base and you’d instantly make a lot of people very, very happy,” said Sandoval of her inspired plan for Brown to promptly shoot, poison, or hang himself to restore a modest piece of the public’s goodwill and boost record sales. “It’s a bold move, sure, but I think it would really get people on your side. You would be so much more appealing. Besides, it’s always a good idea to give the people what they want.” Sources confirmed that Sandoval ended the meeting by offering to help out in any way she could, either by pulling the trigger herself or by setting up a pay-per-view livestream feed of the suicide. Wizkid and EME Breakup EXCLUSIVE: Why EME’s Wizkid is Stuck with his Alleged BAD 7 Album Record Deal, Plus Rapper Chief Keef’s $6Million Interscope Deal (ANALYSIS)As Nigerian artists on the continent continue to dream and push aggressively to enter the Western music markets, especially America’s, there has never been a time so crucial to discuss the legal pitfalls of such moves for the unwary artist. Indeed I have discussed some of these pitfalls in many of my prior articles on www.africamusiclaw.com, with an emphasis on the D’banj/Kanye West G.O.O.D music deal. Nevertheless, we have another good case to underscore my message of being cautious and reading the dotted line before you sign any legal agreement with a record label. It is the recent case/debacle currently unfolding between one of Nigeria’s respected record labels Empire Mates Entertainment and its artist Wizkid. Before we get into the Wizkid facts, be advised that there is a blue print that we can follow to compare and contrast what a fair record contract looks or should look like. Our example comes from the recent $6million Interscope record contract deal signed by seventeen (17) year old artist Chief Keef. Interscope is a California based company. The deal terms have been made available to the public in a Cook County Chancery Court filing in Chicago thanks to the fact that Keef is a minor. In California, when an employer hires a minor (persons under 18) in the entertainment industry, a court approval is required. The statute (law) is called the Coogan Act. The act also requires that an employer set aside 15% of the gross earnings earned by the minor, into a trust fund, which is managed/controlled by the minor’s trustee until he/she becomes of age. Chief Keef’s Interscope Record Deal 1. Chief Keef signed a 3 album-record contract deal 2. Chief Keef also has a separate three year contract to establish and control his own record label, ‘Glory Boyz Entertainment’ (GBE), which would be a subsidiary of Interscope Records. This second deal could, according to court records, fetch him $6million. 3. For his GBE Deal, Interscope paid Keef a $440,000 advance. His manager also receives a $180,000 advance payment. Chief Keef and his manager each own 40% of the GBE and the other 20% is split between Keef’s GBE artist, his uncle and another individual. 4. The GBE contract requires that interscope pay $200,000 in overhead expenses i.e. the costs associated with running the label GBE. 5. For the GBE label, GBE and Interscope would split profits equally. Interscope, however, can terminate the GBE deal if losses exceed $4.5million. 6. Independent of the above, Interscope has agreed to pay Chief Keef an advance fee of $440,000. 15% of the aforementioned advance, because he is a minor, must be deposited into a trust fund aka ”blocked trust” where it will be controlled by his grand mother until he turns 18. 7. Interscope also provided $300,000 advance (recording costs) for Chief Keef’s recording of his album “Finally Rich.” 8. Chief Keef’s direct record deal with Interscope is conditioned on the success of his album. If Chief Keef does not sell 250,000 units of his album by the end of December 2013, then Interscope can decide not to release his subsequent albums and compilation. Chief Keef has other legal problems namely criminal action against him. He is currently locked up in a Juvenile detention center (jail for young people) and he has been sued by a woman in family court for child support. His extra legal shenanigans, however, exceed the scope of this article. We are focused, for all intended purposes, on actions that put monies in our pockets, not the ones that steal our freedom and have us involved in baby mama drama. So, let’s get on with it and look at Nigeria’s Wizkid and his deal with the Nigerian based record label EME. Wizkid’s EME Record Deal NOTE: Unlike Keef’s, the terms of the Wizkid EME deal are alleged. It is based on insider talks and news stories that have flooded the internet within the past year alone. It may or may not be true. For our informative and educational purpose, however, it is irrelevant whether the facts are true. In fact, I am treating these facts as hypothetical facts, except where noted as true, to drive home the underlying point on the need to read your contract before you sign it, to avoid legal pitfalls like those that may find themselves under the same alleged factual situation like Wizkid. Keep this in mind as you read my analysis. 1. Wizkid is a Nigerian citizen (true fact) 2. Wizkid is a self proclaimed “studio rat.” As early as 11 years old, he was already singing. 3. By 2006, he got his break with Nigeria’s famed artist OJB (true fact) 4. In 2009, at 19years old, Wizkid got an even bigger break when he began working with Nigerian-American R &B super star Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment Record label. (True fact) 5. Wizkid already put a lot of the hard work on the talent side before he met EME. From 2009 onwards, EME focused on the branding, artist development, marketing and promotions of Wizkid. (True fact) 6. Within and outside of Nigeria, there was NO LEGAL CONTRACT signed between EME and Wizkid. (Alleged) 7. About March 2012, when fans and the public screamed in excitement about the EME Wizkid UK Tour, Wizkid still did not have a legal contract. However, as a condition to perform in the UK and to get visas granted, the hosting country (UK) required a record contract evidencing Wizkid was signed to EME. EME, in a rush, put a contract together for Wizkid. (Alleged) 8. The EME-Wizkid contract (the first signing of a record deal) had a term requiring a 7 album deal. They promised this contract will be amended to the “real contract” later. (Alleged) 9. Wizkid signed the 7 Album contract, without reading the terms. (Alleged) 10. Prior to the signing, monies were split between the two in a 50/50 way i.e. monies made from concerts/ tours were split evenly. (Alleged) 11. In April of 2012, EME announced a joint deal, in a press statement, with Akon’s Konvict. EME claimed Akon would “produce and release Wizkid worldwide” while EME managed Wizkid in Nigeria. (True Fact) 12. Before we could blink, all of a sudden, Wizkid signed a management deal with Tinie Tempah in the UK. Really? (True Fact) 13. Banky W & EME allegedly never negotiated or agreed to such a deal. Wizkid directly negotiated and signed with Tinie Tempah. (Alleged) 14. Wizkid fronts his own label “Star Boy” under the blessings and umbrella of the EME label. (Alleged) 15. As it stands, the relationship between the EME crew and Wizkid has deteriorated to the point where Wizkid no longer speaks to members of the EME team, including Banky W. All correspondences are filtered through his new manager Godwin Tom (Alleged). 16. Wizkid wants more money and he wants out i.e. reduce the 7 Album deal. He feels slighted because EME promised they would sign a new contract with him and now they want to hold his feet to the fire on their 7 album contract. (Alleged) |
This letter was written by a blogger known as Ngozi Kanwiro (www...com) to Cossy and Tonto Dikeh. The unscrupulous lifestyles of Igbo NOLLYWOOD Actresses, Cossy Orjiakor and Tonto Dikeh are just becoming too unbearable. This duo has ignorantly and intentionally refused to stop their no-longer interesting/entertaining lifestyles that are now tarnishing the image of the Igbo female group as a whole. It is so disheartening how Cossy has continued to tarnish the image of our Igbo sisters through her dirty lifestyles that now give all Nigerians the impression that Igbo ladies are all prostitutes using their bodies to climb to the ladder of fame in all works of life, whereas in reality, it is not true, rather it is being practiced by few unscrupulous Igbo girls who have nothing else to offer to the Nigerian society aside exposing their God-given feminine physique in sexual-appealing manner to gain popularity, and by giving out their supposed holy-bodies to men (married and single) so long as he can pay the price. Please Cossy and Tonto, Nigerians and most importantly, Ndigbo are no longer finding your ugly, dirty lifestyles funny, please you girls should turn a new leaf this new year and embrace God in your lives for your own good. You two maybe thinking that you are on top of the game, but you are only causing yourselves more harm than good, and if you ladies refuse to change for better, you will surely reap a negative fruit in future to come. Finally, I am using this medium with other mediums to follow, to call on the Ohanaeze Ndigbo society to please write personally to Cossy Orjiakor and Tonto Dikeh to change their lifestyles as soon as possible, and if they fail or pay deaf ear, then the Ohanaeze Ndigbo should write to NOLLYWOOD, PMAN, Nigeria Censorship Agency, and every other entertainment industry in Nigeria through the major national dailies in Nigeria, to ban them from participating in Nigerian entertainment industries of any kind. This is so sad because they are no longer entertaining Nigerians but rather teaching the upcoming Nigeria youths bad moral conducts. Just see the unimaginable picture an African woman of Igbo origin posted publicly online in the name of entertaining her so-called fans. Yes, such rubbish can be done in the west, this is Africa, Nigeria and this also goes beyond to tarnishing the name of Igbo tribe. Spread this message as fast as you can. Thanks.
