Annettevoke: Just relax. Your AIP will come or maybe even a PPR direct. If you got your medical request, it means that the VO found you eligible. They won't ask you to spend money on medicals if you aren't eligible. If you've raised a CSE already, just be patient. If not, raise one. In the mean time, you can order your GCMS notes. 1 Like |

Frankrobbn1:@Bolded: Can you see how you are contradicting yourself now? I can recall you saying the AIP is a trick or something. Why will people get PPRs if the AIP is a trick? Or those students you work with didn't get AIPs at all? If so, please tell us. In any case, we don't have to go back and forth on this. I know what I am saying. Just do all of us a favour and tone down the doubts. You've solidly made your point. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Tonyodg: That's good. Unfortunately, no Spectranet in my location (Uyo) . I'm stuck with MTN (which is the fastest) and GLO for backup. I may also get Airtel just in case. I don't want village people to interface with my classes. 4 Likes |

Frankrobbn1: People will get their Passport Requests Letters soon on this thread. I can confirm that two persons I know have received their BVL after medical requests, biometrics and AIP. They are Nigerians and they got their BVL yesterday and we did biometrics on August 24th. I am waiting for mine now sef cos we all applied in May. You are right on many things but I put it to you that you are wrong on this one. 7 Likes |

fratermathy: Thank you. I am starting online too. First class is tomorrow sef. 9pm-11pm. I have subscribed 10gb plans on MTN and GLO. I'm on 4G. I have a laptop with 5 hours+ battery and I can always use the generator if NEPA fails. My phone battery also lasts just in case. My major issue is with the books I may need but my university has a great online library and I can access whatever I need easily. I am not really afraid for my AIP because I got a medical request too. I just want to do my program and focus on it. I'm going to Canada to study first. Everything is not about PR or PGWP. Yes, I want those too but I want the education more, whether online or not. But not everyone can afford online classes though. I sympathize with those who have to defer because they cannot afford online lectures or cope with it. All of us will get our TRV soon. Have some faith. 16 Likes |

Someone from India with AIP ordered his GCMS notes and found this: Satisfied to issue 2021/12/31 - R1 + WP Meds pending I guess this answers a few questions we may have about the AIPs. |

Blema111: Thanks for replying. My school typically follows the policy you highlighted prior to this covid-19 wahala. However, due to the pandemic, they sent a mail that they've been authorised to send stipends to international students via cheques. They anticipate delays in processing the cheques so they'll send the entire funding for the fall semester once (September to December) and they'll pay tuition themselves. I have not even gotten my final permit yet. I got only an AIP. I am really confused about it. I may ask them to suspend action and keep my funding in my student account (which is the second option anyway) pending when I can get to Canada. If I am to remain in Nigeria beyond September, they'll have to send the funding to me here. I just don't know how it will work with our Nigerian banks. |

My department is planning to send my stipends for the entire fall semester (September to December) via cheque to me in Nigeria (as per new directives due to the pandemic). I need advice on this. Should I ask them to hold action till I am in Canada or should I get the cheque since I am not even sure of when I'll be in Canada. The money will be enough to cater for 200% of my needs here. Does anyone even know whether or not I can cash a Canadian cheque into a Nigerian bank account? |

Lekiboboe: You can do a mobile transfer and print the receipt or proof of payment. That's what many people do. If you have a Standard Chartered Bank near you and you are willing to go through that stress, you can visit the bank then. |

olasubomy: I won't be able to answer your question but I'll advise you never to indicate that you plan to stay back after your studies in any application you'll submit. I also know that Vancouver has more opportunities but it is also a damn expensive place to stay as a student. |

rebeccausoro: 4. Please do well to go there with proof of payment of medical fees. I did not print my transfer slip and that caused a little delay for me. The officer wanted to send me out to print it but I had to practically force him to print it with the printer in the office. This method may not work for everyone so please go there with the print out of your transfer. Also try to do the transfer two days before your appointment date. It'll make confirmation easy for you. In my case, the officer wrote "Pending" on my progress slip because they were yet to confirm transfer. Save yourself that hurdle. 1 Like |

Lekiboboe: 1. I used their website and it worked fine for me. - https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/ 2. Just your passport. However, if you currently have a medical condition, go with your report and prescription. 3. If it is medical request, they won't give you anything to upload. If upfront, you will get a slip to upload. Further advice: Go early. Book for 8am. Drink plenty of water before the medical screening. Relax. It takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. If you are healthy, you will be fine. 3 Likes |
