my timeline
Applied may 4th
medical request - july 22nd
medical passed - august 5th
done biometrics- completed - august 24th
NO AIP? WHY?
can someone share their thought cos doesnt sound well to me since other May applicants are getting AIP after medical request but i didnt get.

Just relax. Your AIP will come or maybe even a PPR direct. If you got your medical request, it means that the VO found you eligible. They won't ask you to spend money on medicals if you aren't eligible. If you've raised a CSE already, just be patient. If not, raise one. In the mean time, you can order your GCMS notes.

Hello House,
Is there anyone who did upfront medical on August 22, 2020 at QLife after submitting online application (but before medical request from IRCC) whose IRCC status has reflected positively?
I did my upfront medical on said day and notified IRCC via web form (they acknowledged receipt of eMedical sheet 7 days later and said they have forwarded to relevant visa office and advised I notify Nairobi visa office where my file is). I have called QLife and they confirmed uploading my medical to e Medical on August 29, 2020.

My timeline for Spring (May) 2021 admission
Applied online on July 21, 2020
BIL On July 21, 2020
Biometrics done on August 24, 2020 ( reflected on my IRCC profile "Biometrics Completed"wink
Upfront medical done on August 22, 2020.

What next? Gurus @FrankRobbn, @Lekiboboe @rebeccausoro @Osemigho etc come to my aid with advice

Just give them some time. They are working with limited capacity now. They'll definitely update it soon. Relax.

The people that have been approved of their study permit applied long before the invention of the AIP. These set of applications was submitted to IRCC in Jan, Feb, March, and April. It was due to the travel restrictions of Canada, the visa officer didn't initiate a passport request. It was clearly stated on several GCMS notes I recently vetted. Consequently, my standpoints have never been contradictory as you perceive it. Therefore be advised that I'm not trying to put any doubtful conception on people's mind.

I may not be patient enough to continue debating with you on this matter as you may have limited insight about the current situation.

Amen!

Please can you share? (Possibly)

AIP gotten Aug 6th

Medical request Aug 13th
Done on 27th
Medical passed sepT 1

Fingers crossed

Timeline of Ini:

Applied May 14th
Medical Request - July 23rd
AIP - August 6th
Medical Passed - August 10th
Biometrics - August 24th
BVL - September 1st
Applied for Masters (Thesis) - University of Saskatchewan

Timeline of Mfon:

Medical Request - July 29th
AIP - July 30th
Medical passed - August 24th
Biometrics - August 24th
BVL - September 1st
Applied for Masters - Wilfred Laurier University

Both are awaiting PPR now. I have asked them to screenshot their BVLs too so that people won't say I am lying. But its left to them to honour that. Once mine come, I go post am sharply. People who know me here know that I don't waste time to post updates and developments cool.

Until you provide a verifiable proof and/or information that overcomes my stance on this matter, then I will believe that I was wrong. Obivoulsy, people will receive passport requests soon as evident by some of the GCMS notes I have vetted from students.

Good luck

@Bolded:
Can you see how you are contradicting yourself now?
I can recall you saying the AIP is a trick or something. Why will people get PPRs if the AIP is a trick? Or those students you work with didn't get AIPs at all? If so, please tell us.

In any case, we don't have to go back and forth on this. I know what I am saying. Just do all of us a favour and tone down the doubts. You've solidly made your point.

if you have spectranet and it works very fine in your area I’ll advice you go for that
Like I do
10,223 gives you30gb ...... but I always subscribe on a double data day so I get 60gb ( always subscribe on a double data day )
And unlimited 1am -8am
The best I don’t need to buy data for the month again grin
The best

That's good. Unfortunately, no Spectranet in my location (Uyo) cry. I'm stuck with MTN (which is the fastest) and GLO for backup. I may also get Airtel just in case. I don't want village people to interface with my classes.

People will get their Passport Requests Letters soon on this thread. I can confirm that two persons I know have received their BVL after medical requests, biometrics and AIP. They are Nigerians and they got their BVL yesterday and we did biometrics on August 24th. I am waiting for mine now sef cos we all applied in May. You are right on many things but I put it to you that you are wrong on this one.

To all those starting their programs online as from today, I wish you good luck in everything. Many of us across the world will do same because we know the value of education. May the odds be in your favour!

Thank you. I am starting online too. First class is tomorrow sef. 9pm-11pm. I have subscribed 10gb plans on MTN and GLO. I'm on 4G. I have a laptop with 5 hours+ battery and I can always use the generator if NEPA fails. My phone battery also lasts just in case. My major issue is with the books I may need but my university has a great online library and I can access whatever I need easily.

I am not really afraid for my AIP because I got a medical request too. I just want to do my program and focus on it. I'm going to Canada to study first. Everything is not about PR or PGWP. Yes, I want those too but I want the education more, whether online or not.

But not everyone can afford online classes though. I sympathize with those who have to defer because they cannot afford online lectures or cope with it. All of us will get our TRV soon. Have some faith.

I got a question,

Does Upfront Medicals take long to reflect in one's profile?, No medical result Review yet....
cos presently here it still says "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes"

It would be reflected after 10-15 days.

Someone from India with AIP ordered his GCMS notes and found this:

Satisfied to issue 2021/12/31 - R1 + WP Meds pending

I guess this answers a few questions we may have about the AIPs.

This is very tricky, very very tricky. My school refused to pay my funding until I arrived Canada and that’s the position of most schools. They literally told me to pay the fees myself and if I’m able to enter Canada, they would re-imburse me. So your school saying this is tricky. Make sure you read the terms and conditions before signing any documents. If your visa was issued before March 18, find your way to Canada.

Thanks for replying. My school typically follows the policy you highlighted prior to this covid-19 wahala. However, due to the pandemic, they sent a mail that they've been authorised to send stipends to international students via cheques. They anticipate delays in processing the cheques so they'll send the entire funding for the fall semester once (September to December) and they'll pay tuition themselves.

I have not even gotten my final permit yet. I got only an AIP. I am really confused about it. I may ask them to suspend action and keep my funding in my student account (which is the second option anyway) pending when I can get to Canada. If I am to remain in Nigeria beyond September, they'll have to send the funding to me here. I just don't know how it will work with our Nigerian banks.

My department is planning to send my stipends for the entire fall semester (September to December) via cheque to me in Nigeria (as per new directives due to the pandemic). I need advice on this. Should I ask them to hold action till I am in Canada or should I get the cheque since I am not even sure of when I'll be in Canada. The money will be enough to cater for 200% of my needs here. Does anyone even know whether or not I can cash a Canadian cheque into a Nigerian bank account?

Thanks,
I understand u quite alright, I don't intend to go to the bank,
but what's the essence of the SWIFT CODE/BIC in their account details, or am only Concerned with the Account Number & Bank Name?

Just ignore them. Those codes are for those who will transfer from foreign accounts.

@rebeccausoro

Can i do a Mobile Bank payment to the Bank then Print the Screenshot of the payment as a Proof Of Payment
or
its compulsory I go to the required bank to do the payment,

cos I saw in the IOM Account Payment Details, a SWIFT CODE/BIC which am not sure there is a column for that on a Mobile Banking APP.

Thanks..

You can do a mobile transfer and print the receipt or proof of payment. That's what many people do. If you have a Standard Chartered Bank near you and you are willing to go through that stress, you can visit the bank then.

Good morning All, please which is better for an MBA - University Canada West and Vancouver Island University. I got admit for both. Also, i plan to stay back after my studies and possibly settle in there.

I won't be able to answer your question but I'll advise you never to indicate that you plan to stay back after your studies in any application you'll submit.

I also know that Vancouver has more opportunities but it is also a damn expensive place to stay as a student.

1. I used their website and it worked fine for me. - https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/
2. Just your passport. However, if you currently have a medical condition, go with your report and prescription.
3. If it is medical request, they won't give you anything to upload. If upfront, you will get a slip to upload.

Further advice: Go early. Book for 8am. Drink plenty of water before the medical screening. Relax. It takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. If you are healthy, you will be fine.

4. Please do well to go there with proof of payment of medical fees. I did not print my transfer slip and that caused a little delay for me. The officer wanted to send me out to print it but I had to practically force him to print it with the printer in the office. This method may not work for everyone so please go there with the print out of your transfer. Also try to do the transfer two days before your appointment date. It'll make confirmation easy for you. In my case, the officer wrote "Pending" on my progress slip because they were yet to confirm transfer. Save yourself that hurdle.

Please is this a good sign. Note that I haven't submitted my biometric (haven't done it) neither have i done medicals.

I submitted my application on the 16th of May.

Congrats! That's an AIP. You can register for online classes now. Your study permit is 80% guaranteed.
