The All Progressives Congress, APC has described as the height of lawlessness and an orchestrated provocation the second raid that was carried out on the party’s data centre in Ikeja, Lagos, by the State Security Service, SSS, on Monday night. The party said the out-of-control agency must urgently be called to order. “The raid by over 40 armed DSS officers, despite a court order restraining the service from such action, shows that the DSS considers itself to be above the laws of the land, and this is totally condemnable,” the party said in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed. “Even under a PDP government that has nothing but contempt for constitutional order, the lack of respect for a court order by an institution of state like the DSS has plumbed the depth of anomie, and shows that our democracy is in clear and present danger from anarchists,” it said. APC said the 40 armed DSS officers, who came with trucks, shoved the security personnel at the building aside and broke into the storage facility from where they carted away over 30 bags filled with the APC membership registration forms. The party said the raid came on the same day it challenged the SSS to make public its findings after the first raid that was widely condemned within and outside Nigeria, and described as the worst political scandal in the nation’s history. “It is sensible to conclude that the DSS’ second raid was its own crude reaction to the challenge we posed to it. Apparently yet to find any evidence of PVC cloning as alleged by the DSS, it is now quite desperate to manufacture evidence to justify its raids. Or how else does one explain the claim by the service that its ‘findings’ will shock Nigerians, even at a time it is still in search of evidence? Is this how self-respecting intelligence agencies conduct their operations? “It is curious that an institution of state will continue to act like an enforcement arm of the ruling party by constantly harassing the opposition. It is strange that an organization that should be deploying its best staff to gather useful intelligence that can help the nation to win the anti-terrorism war is instead engaging in terrorizing the opposition. “It is time to call the DSS to order, and to remind those at the helms of affairs that while they may be having a free rein today, they will one day rue their actions at this critical time in our nation’s history,” it said. APC said it was particularly alarming that the SSS carried out its raid despite the November 26 order by Justice Mohammed Yenusa of the Federal High Court in Lagos, restraining the DSS from further sealing off the data centre or taking further steps in connection with the property. The party said the moment Nigerians could no longer seek redress in court, just because the law enforcement agencies have elevated themselves above the law, the country could as well bid good goodbye to constitutional order. It blamed the prevailing atmosphere of lawlessness in the country on the culture of impunity that has become institutionalized under the government of President Goodluck Jonathan, wondering whether that is the legacy the President wanted to leave after his tenure. Lawmakers to give Mark impeachment request Senators have levelled 14 impeachable allegations against President Goodluck Jonathan. The lawmakers are expected to harmonise their allegations with members of the House of Representatives before sending an impeachment request to Senate President David Mark. The pro-impeachment Senators and Representatives may meet before the end of the week to agree on when to present the request to Mark, in line with Section 143 (1) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution. Top on the list of the allegations is the President’s refusal to sign 120 bills into law. The Nation stumbled on a copy of the allegations and signatures. The President is expected to explain why he could not curtail the Boko Haram insurgency; and non-release of the abducted 219 Chibok girls. Other issues are undule politicising of the security situation; failure to act as de facto President; $10.8billion missing from the Federation Account; squandering of N10billion private jets; and sloppiness/ failure in governance. Some of the allegations also include alleged violation of the constitution/ Oath of Office; failure to implement recommendations of panels/ committees; setting up of ill-conceived, “nebulous” groups like TAN for re-election campaign outside the Electoral Act; failure to establish and inaugurate the Nigeria Police Council; illegal deployment of Armed Forces and sowing seed of hatred and turning one part of the country against the other.” Though the list of signatories was obtained by our correspondent, the senators pleaded against its publication until what they described as “auspicious time”. Although 63 senators were reported to have backed the impeachment move, the document shows that 16 signed. Read more: http://thenationonlineng.net/new/14-reasons-jonathan-must-go-now-senators/ |

PDP goons in the building |
We need a General to stop these Boko haram sect. Apart from that a selfless person that is willing to sacrifice his life to clean up the country. It is obvious that our goodluck with gentleman president is not able to handle a war to curb this, is it until 30,000 people before we realise this? Some will say thank God its not in my state, is the North not also part of Nigeria. A President with good military background (i.e A General) is what we need at this point in Nigeria ![]() |
I dont believe this news. We dont want Akala, he should go back to his PDP |
Jonathans loss in the 2015 elections will be so embarrassing i dont see him getting up to 30% of the total votes sef (lol including PDP rigging). he has failed, thousands of Nigerians have died while he dances around like nothing is wrong, the people are tired! |
lol he wasnt even successful in any of the 8 battles.. what a shame! and hes come to deceive simple minded people again for another 4years |
A former ADC to Mariam Abacha what do you expect ![]() |
We honestly want a former ADC to Mariam Abacha to conduct our elections and not be partisan. A police office that dined with the Abacha family. Jonathan does not understand how sensitive and delicate this 2015 elections is. At times i wonder if GEJ is working towards destroying this country |
Has he protected Ekiti state democracy? what of chibok girls...rubbish man |
I laugh in spanish, see this loaf of an IG. Ekiti just recently attempted to "impeach" their Speaker, yet the police is not able to protect him and come out and say he is still the speaker. Why because it is PDP. In a case that is already before the courts you have the right to say you don't recognize the No.4 and speaker of the Country. What a shame! And this is the IGP that wants to provide a level playing field for 2015 elections. What wont we see in this failure of an administration ![]() |

A federal judge who on Monday struck out terrorism charges against Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja, said his decision was based on lack of “diligent prosecution by the state”. In a ruling Monday in Abuja, the judge cancelled a two-count charge instituted by the federal government over the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people. Mr. Ogwuche, a suspected Boko Haram member, was accused by the Nigerian government of being behind the attack. The blast at the Nyanya Motor Park occurred during morning peak hours as residents were hurrying to work. The government said Mr. Ogwuche fled to Sudan after coordinating the attack. He was later repatriated to Nigeria to face charges. The Nigerian police had filed a two-count charge against Mr. Ogwuche, but the case could not proceed due to bickering between the police and the State Security Service, SSS. At the resumed hearing Monday, the prosecution counsel was absent from court. “This criminal charge is hereby struck out for want of diligent prosecution by the complainant, Inspector General of Police and his prosecutor,” the judge ruled. The judge did not however order Mr. Ogwuche’s release, an indication the state could file fresh charges against him. But Mr. Ogwuche has already challenged his continued detention, asking the court to compel the SSS to release him or charge him anew. On Monday, the judge also granted an oral application by his lawyer, Ahmed Raji, to allow Mr. Ogwuche’s family members visit him. The judge ordered that two family members, and three attorneys from Mr. Raji’s chamber, be allowed to see the suspected bomber The application was not opposed by the counsels representing the SSS, Clifford Osagie, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Taiwo Abidogun. The judge also ruled that Mr. Ogwuche be given medical care while in custody, and if need be, be referred to the National Hospital. The application on his continued detention will be heard December 5. Source: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/171825-alleged-nyanya-bomber-cleared-court.html |
This was done based on negotiation with Chad President on the release of our chibok girls. Before end of this week i wont be surprised to see our chibok girls back home. |
Is this a coincidence that the day the courts freed Aminu Ogwuche our President heads to Chad AGAIN! Or this an arrangement to free him and have our CHIBOK Girls freed. Something tells me focus is still on 2015 with all of these happening |

For those who don't know, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, is contesting in next year's presidential election. Below is what he said during his declaration at a rally on Monday Nov. 10th. “My people, in 2015 I will be the president of the country. Three months ago when I said I want to be president they asked, “Can an Igboman be president? But now when they count those contesting for president they will first count Rochas Okorocha, before Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso. When they said they have zoned the presidency to the North, I asked, When was the meeting held? Now we have zoned it to Igboland. In 2015, there will be a turnaround in the fortunes of Ndigbo. They only know themselves; they don’t care about Igbo. APC is an emergency party for a new Nigeria; I would not have joined APC if PDP was doing well. We will defeat PDP in 2015,” Source: http://lindaikeji..com/2014/11/i-will-be-nigerian-president-in-2015.html |

Noo o, just wait for the usual script..A press release signed by Reuben Abati saying how GEJ commiserate with the people and how Govt is "committed" to winning the war on terror! In few hours dont be shocked to see our president smiling or dancing only when there was huge international spotlight did he "look" a bit concerned, but we are back to status quo.God help us ![]() |
overhypedsteve:The US does not have any ground troops in Iraq plus at least Saddam and his top guys were taken out, as well as the main militancy group in ND. 13,000 Nigerians have died if not more from Boko Haram, It has passed time to keep doing same things, outside help might be the only solution. Do you know how much the government is supposed to spend to protect 1 life not to talk of loosing 13,000 Nigerians in their land, in their country |
