A Nigerian lady has triggered heated discussions online after sharing a controversial video where she bluntly stated that people who cannot provide basic comfort have no business bringing children into the world. In the clip, she argued that: Anyone still boarding public buses with a baby strapped to their back should reconsider having children. Couples still living with their parents should not be starting families. Parents who struggle to pay school fees on time should not be having additional children. She went further to say that if a child is forced to hawk or accompany parents to shops and markets in school uniform immediately after classes, then the decision to have children was already a mistake. According to her, if a couple cannot consistently afford three square meals, they should not have children at all. The lady emphasized that her point had nothing to do with education, but with common sense and responsible planning. Although the video was originally recorded in August, it resurfaced this weekend on Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), where it quickly began trending and attracting a wave of reactions. Many viewers strongly criticized her stance, describing it as insensitive and disconnected from the realities of economic hardship faced by millions. Others argued that raising a family is a fundamental right and not something that should be dictated by financial status. The video continues to spark debate across social media, as people share conflicting opinions on whether financial stability should be a prerequisite for parenthood. A Nigerian man has taken to social media to vent his frustration, calling out African food sellers in America for what he described as “outrageous prices.” According to him, he was charged a staggering $140 for just two plates of Egusi soup and small portions of pounded yam. Expressing his anger, he lamented that African food sellers deliberately inflate prices, especially when selling to fellow Nigerians. “Tell me why I have to pay $40 excluding tax and tips for a plate of Egusi and small pounded yam that can’t even fill me up? Other people sell theirs for less than $15, and you are charging $40,” he complained. The man explained that during his visit to an African restaurant yesterday, he was billed $140 for two plates of Egusi and pounded yam. When he demanded a breakdown, he was told the actual price per plate was $40, with additional charges for tax and tips. Shocked, he questioned the sellers: “$40 for a plate of food, not gold?” Vowing to take action, he declared that he would start exposing Nigerian food vendors who charge above $20 per plate. He added that even the $20 price tag should only apply if the restaurant has a fancy setting and a prime location. Still venting his frustration, he asked: “Are you people the only ones who need money? Don’t others need money too?” He further explained that many Africans in America are not eating local dishes simply because they lack options, but because they genuinely want to support their own people and help African-owned businesses thrive. Watch the moment Ghanaian fishermen caught a live shark at the beach and dragged it ashore. A group of fishermen in Ghana stunned onlookers when they hauled a live shark from their fishing expedition and dragged it across the sandy shore. The unusual catch quickly drew attention from beachgoers, many of whom gathered to witness the dramatic scene. The shark, still alive as it was pulled onto land, highlighted both the risks and rewards faced by local fishermen who venture out daily to secure their catch. While shark sightings and captures are not entirely uncommon in West African waters, it remains a rare spectacle to see one brought to shore alive. Summary: During the Nigeria vs Ghana Unity Cup match in the UK, many Nigerians were unable to sing the newly reinstated national anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee." There was a mix of drama and laughter in the UK during the recent Nigeria vs Ghana Unity Cup match, as many Nigerians in attendance couldn't sing the newly reinstated national anthem. Instead, they defaulted to singing the only version they knew — the now-replaced anthem, “Arise, O Compatriots.” As soon as the instrumental for “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” began to play, many Nigerians looked confused. Some burst into laughter, clearly unfamiliar with the lyrics. Rather than staying silent, the crowd collectively began singing “Arise, O Compatriots” to the tune of the new anthem. One Nigerian man was heard shouting in Pidgin English: “Wahala! Who sabi sing am? Na the one wey we know we go sing!” — meaning, “Problem! Who knows how to sing it? We’ll just sing the one we know!” The stadium echoed with laughter and amusement as the crowd embraced the old anthem, creating a light-hearted and humorous moment during the event. For context, Nigeria officially reverted to its original national anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” on May 29, 2024, after President Bola Tinubu signed it into law. This anthem was originally used from 1960 to 1978 before being Watch the hilarious moment and share your thoughts in the comments below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-AHbMJhAXY?si=wh7U0KgRzJdNfK43

A newly surfaced video has shed light on the tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, where a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot by police officers during an operation that was initially intended to apprehend his father for a traffic offense. Earlier reports had suggested that the officers were chasing an alleged internet fraudster when a stray bullet struck the young student. However, the newly released footage contradicts this, showing that the incident actually involved a joint task force consisting of personnel from the Oyo State Police Command and the Oyo State Traffic Management Authority (OYTMA). In the video, the officers are seen attempting to intercept a Black Honda Accord driven by Odunayo Alade, the boy’s father, who had reportedly flouted traffic regulations. As the car sped off in defiance of the officers' orders, a gunshot rings out. Voices speaking in Yoruba can be heard saying: “They should pursue him”, “let’s go”, “he can’t escape”, “he shouldn’t have gone.” Shortly afterward, the vehicle halts and bystanders gather at the scene. The boy is spotted lying motionless on the ground, with police officers surrounding him. Two men lift the boy, seemingly trying to place him back into the vehicle. Blood is visibly staining the pavement nearby. Amid the commotion, a voice from the crowd is heard asking: “Who fired the gun?” Meanwhile, a distressed man — believed to be the father — is seen gripping a police officer, apparently the one who fired the shot. He cries out in anguish: “Shoot me; you have to shoot me too.” Later that day, the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Osifeso Adewale, issued a statement providing further details about the incident. According to him, the vehicle driven by Alade had violated traffic laws around 7:45 am near the Airport Roundabout in the Alakia axis of Ibadan. When officials attempted to stop him, he allegedly accelerated in defiance, colliding with two OYTMA vehicles and a Police Buffalo Patrol truck. The statement continues: “Rather than complying with lawful directives, the driver allegedly accelerated towards the enforcement team in an attempt to evade arrest, ramming into two OYTMA vehicles and a Police Buffalo Patrol truck.” To prevent additional danger to officers and other road users, barricades were set up to stop the fleeing vehicle. However, Alade reportedly broke through these barriers and continued driving in a reckless manner, posing risks to those around. During this pursuit, a police corporal discharged his weapon. The bullet pierced the rear of the vehicle and struck the boy, who was seated behind the driver. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival. The officer responsible for firing the shot has since been detained, and the authorities have launched an ongoing investigation into the matter. A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to criticize Nigerian doctors and nurses, accusing them of negligence and a lack of empathy which she claims led to the death of her sister's husband. In an emotional video, she said: “Nigerian doctors, Nigerian nurses, you people can do better. It’s not fair. If you’re tired of the profession, please resign—just resign. They brought someone to you for treatment, someone under your care, but because of your nonchalant attitude, you ended up killing my sister’s husband. You’ve succeeded in making her a widow. I don’t understand—if you’re tired of being a doctor or a nurse, resign so we can know who the real professionals are among you. I really don’t understand how you can look at someone with a lifeless body and still show no sympathy—not for the person, not for the family. Instead, you talk to them anyhow. What is going on? You're just after the money—we know. We know you're after the money. But still, you can do better.” The video sparked emotional reactions from viewers, with many sharing their own heartbreaking experiences with healthcare professionals.
