On February 19, 2025, a large water pipe burst in Southwest Detroit, USA, causing serious flooding in about 400 homes. The 54-inch pipe broke around 2 a.m., sending a huge amount of water into the streets and basements.

Because of the freezing weather, the water quickly turned to ice, trapping cars and making the area dangerous for residents. Many people were forced to leave their homes.
