Summary:
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has clarified that she does not have cancer, addressing rumors sparked by a misunderstood clip from her cooking show. She explained that she only experienced a cancer scare related to her thyroid but is now perfectly fine. Mercy thanked fans for their concern and confirmed her weight loss is due to a non-surgical program, not illness.

Be-Okojie, has addressed and dismissed the rumors claiming she is battling cancer. The speculations started after a clip from her show began trending online, leading many to worry about her health due to her noticeable weight loss.

Mercy took to social media to clear the air, explaining that the clip from her cooking show, Mercy’s Menu, was misunderstood and taken out of context.

In the video she posted, the actress expressed appreciation for the love and concern from fans:

“Hi guys first and foremost thank you for all the calls and messages and prayers. Thank you and I do appreciate it so much but I do not have cancer. I noticed that a clip from my TV show Mercys Menu has been round and they cut the clip.”

She went on to explain that the misunderstanding came from an episode where she mentioned having a “cancer scare,” not an actual diagnosis.

“I said I had a cancer scare, meaning that I had the swelling on my neck, you can see the line there. My doctor thought it was something serious and I had something with my thyroid but I am perfectly okay.”

Reassuring her fans once again, Mercy added:

“Thank you so much for your calls and messages, my phone has been buzzing like crazy. I am perfectly fine and I do not have cancer. I am perfectly okay, so thank you for checking up on me and sending all those messages. Please go back and watch the clip. It was completely misunderstood and I am fine. I do not have cancer in Jesus name.”

For a while now, fans have been asking about her weight loss. Mercy had earlier explained that her new look is a result of a non-surgical weight loss program she’s been promoting—not illness.

Israel Adesanya’s ex-girlfriend, Charlotte Powdrell, broke down in tears after being ordered to pay him $500,000. Despite never being married or having children together, she took him to court after their breakup, demanding half of his estimated $15 million fortune for their one-year relationship.

After a year-long legal battle, the court ruled in her favor—until it was revealed that Adesanya’s net worth was $0, as he had never owned a bank account. Since Charlotte was worth $1 million, the court split her wealth, leaving Adesanya with $500,000. Reports suggest his mother, Taiwo, has managed his finances since the start of his career.

Charlotte Powdrell Breaks Down in Tears After Paying Israel Adesanya $500K Following Court Case

Charlotte Powdrell and Israel Adesanya were never married and did not have children together. However, after Israel ended their relationship, Charlotte took him to court, demanding half of his estimated $15 million fortune. She argued that their one-year relationship was long enough for him to have married her.

The court examined the case for over a year before finally ruling that Charlotte should receive half of Israel Adesanya’s wealth. But when his financial records were reviewed, it was discovered that Israel had a net worth of $0.00 and had never owned a bank account in his entire life.

Since Charlotte had a net worth of $1 million and was financially better off than Israel, the court’s ruling meant her own money had to be divided between them. As a result, Israel received $500K from her.

Reports suggest that Israel Adesanya’s entire $15 million fortune is managed by his mother, Taiwo, who has handled his finances since the start of his career.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken Comrade Usman Okai Austin, a former House of Representatives member for the Dekina/Bassa federal constituency, into custody.

A video circulating on social media captures the moment heavily armed DSS operatives allegedly picked Okai up from his home.

Nigerian politician and human rights activist, Sowore, shared the video on X on Wednesday, claiming that Okai was arrested for speaking out against Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo.

Sowore wrote:

> “Imagine how these lawless @OfficialDSSNG mercenaries are abducting, torturing, and dehumanizing a Nigerian citizen, @Austinokai just because he expresses himself against illegitimate Gov. Ododo of Kogi State. #RevolutionNow #FreeAustinOkaiNow.”

In another post, he added:

> “Lawless @OfficialDSSNG at it again. They must release @Austinokai immediately, with no room for govt security agencies acting as mercenary for corrupt, unscrupulous and illegitimate political hacks such as Ododo, Yahaya Bello and co! #FreeAustinOkaiNow.”

Recently, Okai had accused the state’s accountant general of going beyond her constitutional duties, raising concerns about financial mismanagement and undue interference in governance.
