The pictures, which began trending earlier today, quickly attracted a lot of criticism. In a short video she posted, she debunked the rumors that she is underage. She said, "According to the Nigerian constitution, 18 is an adult, and I am not 18 years, I am not 20 years, and not 25 years. I am a graduate. My small stature shouldn't be a barrier to achieving my goal. So, I am not underage, and I wasn't used as collateral or as a loan because some people commented like that." Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and producer Funke Akindele has openly expressed her support for feminism. However, she clarified that this does not mean she supports women being disrespectful to their husbands in the name of feminism. In a video addressing skit maker Kamo State and his wife, Akindele rejected the idea that women are the “weaker sex,” emphasizing instead that they are “strong and bold.” She encouraged men to treat women with special regard and not confine them to traditional roles, such as those limited to the kitchen. She also stressed the importance of women’s financial empowerment, urging them to achieve economic independence to better support their husbands. She said: "I’m a feminist but I do not support a woman disrespecting her husband. Do what is right. "I believe that we are not the weaker sex or vessel. Men are supposed to treat us specially and respect us. Men should not also feel that a woman belongs in the kitchen and can be talked to anyhow. "We women are strong and bold. Also, our economic power is important, that is why we should make sure we have the power and protect it so we can support our husbands.” Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TwwKC1t6SU?si=XcDfLX_mTijWGv4L

Omo, we are really blessed in Nigeria with good weather🙂 |
On February 19, 2025, a large water pipe burst in Southwest Detroit, USA, causing serious flooding in about 400 homes. The 54-inch pipe broke around 2 a.m., sending a huge amount of water into the streets and basements. Because of the freezing weather, the water quickly turned to ice, trapping cars and making the area dangerous for residents. Many people were forced to leave their homes. Mayor Mike Duggan assured residents that the city would provide hotel stays, food, and help cover damages for those without insurance. Workers have already dug up the broken pipe, and a new section has been ordered. Repairs are expected to be completed in about two weeks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzqgxDxDqE0?si=chkTv6fDOgxsvzEN

ugwumichael:But giving it to a beggar is wickedness na, or is there a way it can be redeemed?😂😂😂 |
This video is not necessarily meant to make you laugh, but I know you won’t be able to help it! This hilarious moment captures a man revealing to a mute beggar that the 200 Naira note he received was fake. The original 200 Naira note has a cadet-grey tint and features the image of Sir Ahmadu Bello. However, the one given to the beggar only shares the same color as the real note but instead displays a cartoon image of a school pupil running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtG8LIrkfC8

ednut1:Okay, sir. |
ednut1:You have a point, bro👍 but when you, as an Igbo man, speak Yoruba, your intention, aim, or joy is to be able to speak exactly like a Yoruba man. You wish to speak Yoruba in such a way that anyone who hears you will praise you for speaking it so well or even for trying to sound like a Yoruba person. No one will mock you; instead, they will be happy to see you speaking it. And since we adopt the language in the first place, trying to sound like the people we learn it from shouldn’t be a bad idea either. Or should we just stick to speaking our local dialects and forget English? What do you think? 😁😁😁😁 |
ednut1:Lol. You think so? To be honest, some of these private schools here are doing a great job. Their school fees may be very high, but the value shows. Remember Faith Odunsi? The young girl dubbed the 'Mathematical Machine' and named the youngest math champion? Check—she is a product of a private school in Ota, Ogun State. You should hear how she speaks too. I don’t think anyone would laugh at her… After representing Nigeria at the Global Mathematics Competition, defeating China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others to become the world’s best mathematics student, she has earned respect. She will always be respected, no matter how she speaks or where she is in the world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeO9GjpfB-8 |

The instructor is seen climbing onto the trainees' stomachs one after another, then running over them while they all lie down, facing up. This intense training has sparked numerous questions and mixed reactions online. Many feel it is excessively brutal and tough. However, some argue that the trainees were likely aware of the training and prepared for it, emphasizing that becoming a professional boxer is no easy feat. Fighters undergo rigorous training to build strength and toughness in order to face opponents in the ring. So, the question is: would you be able to endure this kind of training just to become strong and tough? "I’m Not a Thief, I Do Music for a Living" – Portable Cries Out for Help After Police Declare Him Wanted. Controversial Nigerian singer Portable, who was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police earlier today over an alleged assault on officials, has taken to social media to plead for help from Nigerians. In a video, Portable introduced himself and called for support, saying: "I do music for a living. Nigeria, now I need your help. There’s no place like home, but home is full of evil people. Why me? Why only me? Why Nigeria? I have issues in Nigeria. I do music for a living; I am not a thief. I don’t kill people, I don’t harm people, and I wait for my own blessings. Inside my own blessings, I bless others. I don’t make trouble; people look for my trouble." Since the incident, Portable has displayed erratic behavior. A few days ago, he was spotted in a white garment, lying down in a church, praying. He later took to Instagram to declare himself mentally challenged, revealing that he is currently in a psychiatric home receiving treatment. Portable’s emotional plea came shortly after the police declared him wanted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQyawqp_K6I?si=mF5YhKIIPqwmzGBO

On Monday, a tense confrontation erupted within the chambers of the Lagos State House of Assembly as operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) clashed with legislative staff. The DSS officials, outfitted in black jackets, helmets, and armed with weapons, engaged in a struggle with the workers at the chamber's entrance, leading to chaos within the House. This incident follows recent turmoil in the Assembly. On January 13, 2025, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa was removed from his position by a majority of House members amid allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation. He was replaced by Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda. Despite his removal, Obasa has maintained that he remains the legitimate Speaker, urging that due process be followed for any removal. In response to the ongoing tensions, the Assembly has tightened security measures, requiring all staff and legislative aides to present valid identification for access to the premises. The Lagos State Police Command has also pledged to maintain order, emphasizing their commitment to preventing any breakdown of law and order in the state. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQD0mCwSEJ4?si=1FqVarW_XX61Ffax

Paraman:What he is actually saying is that those involved in or caught dealing in illegal or fake drugs should be decisively dealt with within the confines of the law. Only the shops belonging to those culprits should be marked for closure, rather than closing the entire market and punishing innocent people who are conducting legitimate business. Most especially in this economy, it will negatively impact the livelihoods of others doing lawful business in the same market. In summary, close down the shops of those caught in illegal drug activities and deal with them, but do not shut down the entire market. It’s like punishing innocent people for a crime they know nothing about🙂 |
Summary: Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, has called for the immediate reopening of markets affected by the closure of the Head Bridge Market in Onitsha, which was shut down due to drug-related activities in a section known as Ogbo Ogwu. While condemning illicit drug trade, Obi emphasized the importance of fairness in law enforcement and urged for transparency during shop inspections, involving store owners in the process.
