Politicians in Nigeria tend not to do the right thing at first instance because they know there abounds a large population of stupiid people in Nigeria .

They know there are countless number of Nigerians who will support them no matter the decision they take . They know there an are people who will because of tribal sentiment, religious preference , personal bias , etc defend the wrong thing/policies .

There are people that will twist logic just to defend stupiiiid government policies without any benefits accruing to them from such venture.

The polls are from differing pollsters. Comparing them is hard to do, because each pollster has to develop their own profile of the voters(methodology). And because of that, the numbers that matter are the level of support for the candidate. You would like consistent support amongst all the polls and if you are constantly getting above 51% better. Like now all the polls are showing harris with consistent 40-42 ish support.

So how did we get here.

1.) LordAdam16 believed the poll showing Harris leading was Wrong though it was the most recent poll
His first argument was that the poll of Harris leading was wrong because there was an 8 point swing from a poll the day before. It's odd to compare two different polls that way. Normally you would compare a single poll taking from different days. Weird and not quite useful.

2.) He mistakenly believed the poll was taken the day after Biden dropped out because that was when it was released.
I pointed out that the 1st poll was taken from the 19th -21st. So one of the reasons the poll may show a "different" result, despite the fact that it has a different methodology is that it was taken after she became the official candidate even though it asked the same question. Biden dropped out the 21st in the afternoon. While the first poll was a 3 day rolling poll that ended the day Biden dropped out so most of the responses had already been locked in. The second poll was taken the day after when the information had more time to percolate, making the poll more representative of current opinion.

3.) Correcting him got him mad.
So after I corrected him, he got mad and started asking questions why the poll had an 8 point swing. Again, odd question given that 1.)2 seperate pollsters 2.) 1 was taken before and the 2nd after a huge campaign shakeup. So, being me I thought the best way was to show that polls from 2 different pollsters can swing from day to day. So I went and found such a poll. Now, as I explained, when I look at polls I look at level of support of each candidate, not difference in support between candidates. So, the swing was from 54-49 (5 point swing, which would be huge if it weren't two different pollsters). He made his argument about the numbers, I explained why I chose the poll, but even found more polls showing a swing the way he thought about it (difference in support between the two candidates). It's a silly thing. Polls change daily.

Anyhow, at this point we had gone far upfield of the point. And like most MAGA, the point is to pick something, lie about it to divert from the original point that he was wrong about the Poll of Harris leading.

Anyhow below are the old polls I chose to help explain to him that polls can change from day to day. Again, notice the two pollsters are different. Number 1 shows the numbers I used, Number 2 shows the numbers he is pretending I used. It's clear for anyone to see unless you are being dishonest. Now imagine if you were Biden's team looking through the polls. What would matter to you? To me it be trying to understand how my numbers dipped by 5 points in this poll and looking at the crosstabs and methodology to understand what happened.

I was pointing out that from one to another even on the same day the level of support can swing dramatically esp if they are differing polls.

Polls should in theory all tell you the same thing, measure the same thing.

For your information, the red line of democracy lies in the supreme court. Anyone that crosses that line done shït for church. Even in the jungle, Atiku and Obi have not crossed that line, but your guy crossed that line even after Supreme court ruling on Jan 6th. That singularly disqualifies him from participating in democratic process going forward. These are principle tenets of democracy. In politics when you move from the centre to the extreme, a process of radicalisation must have taken place. So I will answer you in your own words.
