Distinguished founding fathers, stakeholders, colleagues, I, MLS JEGEDE ONORUOIZA SULEIMAN proclaim my desire to run for National President of YMLSF, with great pleasure, honor, and profound humility.

Kindly recall the recent memo from the Electoral committee of YMLSF (ECYMLSF) on the notifications of the forthcoming YMLSF National elections scheduled for 26th/08/2023. Sequel to this, I wish to crave your indulgence on my intention to steer the wheels of this noble forum and to continue as well as consolidate on the outstanding achievements of this current National leadership, led by our distinguished national president and his team.

This declaration is born out of my selfless desire to serve, as I have served and to continue serving the esteemed members of this noble forum.

As a one time National Financial Secretary of this noble forum (2019-2021), I had the opportunity to pilot, maintain and manage the financial affairs of this noble forum where I was able to perform my duties in accordance with the Bye-Law as well as various duties assigned to me by the then National President.

As the current National Secretary (2021-2023) who will be rounding up his duties in 2 months time, I sincerely believe I have been able to pilot, manage and maintain the core secretarial affairs of this noble forum and this I will keep doing until the end of this current leadership by the special grace of God almighty.

Also, as the current National Secretary of YMLSF, I have shown tenacity, enthusiasm, and drive, all of which have helped members of this forum significantly. And these, I hope to amplify, to enhance the growth and development of the esteemed members of the noble forum.

Furthermore, as National Secretary of YMLSF for almost two years, I can declare with confidence that, as a team, we have almost outperformed our goals. Members have praised our efforts and accomplishments, and we have performed our jobs admirably. I have the knowledge and experience from a successful administration to also apply in my time, together with my ideas and that of the next crop of executives to achieve even greater things for this forum.

With these, I can say, if elected, I sincerely feel that I have the necessary abilities, capabilities, capacities and most importantly experience to serve as your National President.

Haven said all these, I still believe as Young Medical Laboratory Scientists, we still have some areas that needs further attentions and these if elected president, I will work with my team to make sure work on those areas.

As Governor Bello Receives Former PDP Gubernatorial Aspirant, Erico.

........Erico Applauds Bello's Infrastructure Development Efforts.

Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, CON, welcomed Mr. Joseph Erico, a former PDP stalwart and gubernatorial aspirant, to his residence in Abuja on Sunday. The Governor, accompanied by his Deputy Edward Onoja and APC gubernatorial candidate Ododo Ahmed Usman, expressed his gratitude for Mr. Erico's commendation of his development initiatives in the state.

During the warm reception, Governor Bello emphasized the unity of Kogi State and encouraged its residents to foster a spirit of brotherhood for the state's progress. He called for collaboration among the people, highlighting that the continuity of APC leadership in Kogi State would safeguard and promote the state's interests at the federal level.

Earlier, Mr. Erico praised Governor Bello's administration for its investments in education, healthcare, rural development, and road infrastructure. He specifically acknowledged the rehabilitation of the Ibana-Okpo-Ikeje-Ogugu road and other projects in Olamaboro Local Government Area. Mr. Erico assured Governor Bello of his support, expressing his belief that it would contribute to the growth and development of the state.

The dynamics of life and its prospect has birthed uncertainty, and it remains undefeated till the end of time. This has pertinently arouse the name Yahaya Bello to the political realm of this country.

His lost at the primary level arrested the flame of his aspiration and left the state with another hope of a coming back in the next dispensation. By and large, divinity came in at the tale end and presented him to steer the leadership of the state. Today, Yahaya Bello has tremendously did well by aggravating our fortune and setting pace for standard.

7years down the memory lane, a successor and a consolidator is needed to complement the effort of the new direction administration. Prior to the primary election of the ruling All Progressive Congress, party faithfuls, loyalists and kogites in general narrowed the scope of their believe of a possible successor to those who had established close proximity to the governor both in the administrative, political and friendship perspective. Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo was actually on the omitted list of this view.

Today, The said man becomes a product of divinity same as his principal. The dynamics of life had yet again played another decisive role. ODODO! a man who wasn't seen or envisaged becomes the man of the moment. Destiny at it peak indeed!

This two scenarios has sharpening our thoughts and replenishes our mind. we must all admit to this glaring fact and accept developments as it were. Kogi is under the tutelage of divinity for the past 7½ years and the end result will be for the betterment of the entire state as it is obviously seen in this current administration.

As the muscularity of hope keep evolving in our heart, we are optimistic he will emerge at the poll come November 2023 to the glory of God. More developmental strides akin with appreciable facts await kogites in no distant time.

*ODODO GRASSROOT CANVASSERS HOLDS INAUGURAL MEETING.*


As the campaign for the Governorship election in Kogi State continue to gather momentum, it is certainly going to be a landslide victory for the All Progressive Congress-APC Governorship candidates of Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman and Hon. Joel Salisu Oyibo as the Ododo Grassroot Canvassers -OGC holds Inaugural meeting. The meeting encompasses the State Executives and the 21 Local Government Coordinators.

Ododo Grassroot Canvassers is a major support group for the APC continuity mantra in Kogi State. It was instituted to aggressively drive the Ododo/Joel APC campaign through extensive grassroot campaigns/mobilization.

The inaugural meeting was held in a close door in the Office of the organisation at Babadoko Plaza, Old Poly Quarters Junction along Ganaja Road, lokoja. The Director General of the Organisation COMRD. ISAH EMMANUEL O. charged all those that are present at the meeting on the main mission, goals, aims and objectives of the organisation.

He speaks on the need for commitment, focus and sincerity of purpose in achieving victory for All Progressive Congress-APC candidates at the poll on November 11, 2023.

The State Executives and the 21 LGA Coordinators pledged their commitment to the project and promised aggressive grassroot mobilization in ensuring a landslide victory for the party.

Comrd. ISAH EMMANUEL also charges various Coordinators to go back to the grassroots and continue galvanizing efforts to sell the gospel of Ododo/Joel ticket. The Secretary, Comrd. JEGEDE A.O also led his voice by charging everyone to stand firm to their responsibilities and contribute relentlessly to the victory of our party. He also highlighted some of the challenges ahead of November election.

However, Dekina local government Co-ordinator speaks with enthusiasm that his Local Government Chairman Hon. Prince Okolo is 100% with Ododo Grassroots canvassers. Also, on his feet was Omala, Local Government Coordinator who spoke with so much zeal that, they are fighting between the so call Igala- Agenda and the Kogi Agenda, and have followed the part of the majority.

Muritala Ajaka, the SDP candidate, has submitted fake West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate as his educational qualification. This has raised eyebrows and made some notable individuals to dig deeper and confirm the authenticity of the Result allegedly submitted by Muri.

Professor Hassan Isah of ABU Zaria wrote to the said school for confirmation of Muri's academic documents. Lo and behold! Muri has no academic information from the said school.

The lawmaker representing Lokoja II, ALIU UMAR YUSUF has emerged the new Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

Yusuf emerged as the new Speaker shortly after Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi State issued a proclamation for the eighth Assembly.

The House also elected ENEMA PAUL member representing Dekina Okura Constituency as the new Deputy Speaker.

In his inaugural speech, the new Speaker, Hon Aliu Umar Yusuf thanked Almighty ÀLLÁH for the privilege to serve Kogi State.

He also thanked his colleagues for finding him worthy to champion the affairs of the legislative house.

The State Assembly under his leadership will collaborate with other arms of Government towards moving Kogi State forward.

Hearty congratulations to all the Inaugurated Kogi State House of assembly members. The purposeful leadership qualities and absolute loyalty portrayed earns you all the victory both from the primary level to the general elections.

The believe reposed on you by the electorate must hence be the watchword and the guiding tools as you step in as the representative of your various constituencies.

You must all prioritize the collective interest of kogites by discharging your duties effectively, and also giving the needed check to other arms of government for the populace to have taste of dividends of democracy.

The Kogi State Traditional Council of chiefs, led by His Royal Majesty, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Ogwuche-Akpa, Atta Igala, paid a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello at the Government House in Lokoja on Monday.

Atta Igala expressed the purpose of their visit, which was to offer their sympathies to the Governor regarding the attack on his convoy by a political group on his way from Abuja to Lokoja on Saturday.
The Atta Igala strongly condemned the attack, labeling it as a criminal act that must not be repeated in Kogi State going forward.

Taking advantage of the occasion, His Royal Majesty, Alaji Mathew Opaluwa Ogwuche-Akpa, also cautioned politicians and their followers to ensure that their campaigns are conducted without resorting to violence or intimidation.

In his prayers for the continuous well-being of Governor Yahaya Bello and the progress of Kogi State, His Royal Majesty, the Ohimege-Igu of Koto Karfe, Abdulrazaq Isah Koto, emphasized that the state, which has enjoyed significant peace and tranquility under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, will continue to remain peaceful. He urged politicians to adhere to the established rules.

Governor Bello, in his remarks expressed his surprise at the conduct of those who attacked his convoy on Saturday.
The governor explained that on his way to Abuja on May 25th, his convoy encountered a roadblock allegedly set up by protesting truck drivers who claimed to have issues with the task force. The governor stated that after waiting for hours, enduring untold hardship alongside other commuters who were unaware of the situation, he joined the security personnel in clearing the road. The perpetrators, who had subjected other road users to such harsh conditions, were subsequently arrested and charged by the security forces. The governor emphasized that such actions were meant to serve as a deterrent to others who may attempt to take the law into their own hands.

He mentioned that he was originally scheduled to participate in the unveiling of the APC deputy gubernatorial candidate on Friday. However, due to a meeting of the Progressive Governors Forum with the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu he requested the party to reschedule the program for Saturday.
Bello recounted that, as a result of a hectic week, he was taking a naps in his car while on his way to Lokoja. When he noticed that the convoy was not moving, he inquired about the reason and was informed by his security details that it was Muri's convoy causing the delay. Despite frantic efforts by his security details to find a way through, he had no choice but to follow behind Murtala's convoy from Koto Karfe to Lokoja, covering a distance of approximately 30 kilometers to the point his convoy was attacked.

The governor described the attackers' actions as criminal, emphasizing that such lawlessness would never be tolerated in the state. He called upon the security forces, including the traditional rulers, to play their part in ensuring the continuity of peace in the state ahead of the election. He stressed the need for collective efforts to combat criminality and firmly stated that there is no room for division in Kogi State.
Governor Bello commended the traditional rulers for their proactive and fatherly guidance, expressing his appreciation for their visit and sympathy.
He also highlighted the historical connection between the Igala and Ebira people, emphasizing that politicians campaigning along ethnic and religious lines were causing problems in the state. The governor assured the traditional leaders of his unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.

The Unveiling of Deputy Governor Candidate Comrade Joel Salifu, Kogi State NUT Chairman. The National President of Nigeria Union of Teachers Comrade Audu Amba was present in honour and appreciation to His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello for recognizing Teachers and choosing one of their own for the position of Deputy Governor in Kogi State. State former and current labour leaders and delegations of teachers across the 21 LGAs were in attendance.

Teachers shouldn't be limited to classes, His Excellency GYB in his usual magnanimity has decided to change the narrative about Teachers.

Comrade Joel has, within the short period he chaired the state NUT validated his capacity to lead, and the necessary articulation of thoughts for the good of its members.

Fancy Media Team (FMT) expressed its readiness to work with the Deputy governorship candidate through the promotion of his activities and canvassing votes by its members which spread across the Local Government of the State.
