Please can someone recommend a service that can help with authentication and legalization of documents please? I live far from Abuja (east) and won't be able to do it myself.

Check Canada.

Specifically, the Rural and Remote Communities Immigration Program.

That money is small but may be enough to get an immigration company to provide you the proof of funds (interest loan) needed for that program.

If your skill is in high demand or you are willing to settle down and do something short term, really consider Canada.

If you can do auxiliary nurse, Canada will work for you, especially in a remote rural community.

You will need to settle down and work for 2-3 years but once you're in, you're in.

Bro can you recommend a trustworthy company that can help with proof of funds?

I actually used google late last year, so I don't have the exact link. This year's award is over that's why you can't find it. It should be out again from around September next year.

Okay, thank you bro.

I stated it earlier. I applied for MasterCard scholarship. I passed some of the tests involved, after which I was sponsored to write the GRE and IELTS. You can google more on mastercard scholarship.

Bro, please don't be vexed, but I've practically scanned through the MasterCard foundation website and I can't find the page where I can do tests in order to get the paid-for GRE and IELTS. I've even gone from the MasterCard foundation scholars page to some school websites, I still can't find it.
Please if it won't be a bother, can you share the direct link to the page? I would be really helpful.

thank you.

It's actually between $2000 and $2500, which is less than #1.2million. This is not too big.

Let me inspire you a bit. Early into the pandemic, I lost my source of income and became broke. However, during this time, I was able to write the GRE ($200), IELTS ($200) and applied for a PhD program to two different schools (this costs about $200), without me spending even up to #1000naira (for data subscription).

All I had to do was to apply for a MasterCard program that pays for GRE and IELTS, and then I prepared my school Applications. When I was ready to submit my application, I scrolled through my phone to look for any foreign number I have that I could convince to help me pay the application fee, and eventually two of my old time friends who are in the US paid this for me.

I'm currently waiting for a positive feedback from the schools, while I put the right strategy to get my flight ticket money ready.

I hope this inspires you and someone else who wants to cry that he/she lacks money.

Please can you expand further on how you paid for GRE and IELTS without spending from your pocket? I really need the info. Thank you.

Have u heard of tax return?
People on minimum wage hardly pay any tax...they claim their tax back.
Pls do a lot of research b4 commenting on what u know little about.
However, I agree if u earning well in naija...u may want to rethink any relocation plan.

Don't listen to that guy. No one working a full time job in Canada earns 1300 CAD. Even the lowest minimum wage in Canada is 11.32 for Saskatchewan Province. Multiply that by 40 hours per week and 4 weeks in a month. Besides the tax on minimum wage is about 20%, not to mention the different benefits these low income earners get from the government.
Ignorance is indeed a disease.

Thank you guys for your suggestions.

I finally bought the Nokia 2.4. Paid 50k for it at Slot.

I must say I'm VERY pleased with my choice. The phone is well made, looks and feels like a more expensive phone. Nokia did a good job here. I feel like they have redeemed their image after a spent 30k a few years back to buy that horrible Nokia 2. smiley

Buy the Samsung lol

Please have you used it?
I'm just getting mixed messages from the reviews I read online. Some say worst fine ever, camera is crap, hangs a lot while others praise the phone I just confuse. I don't want to buy just a name.

I remember buy a Nokia 2 for my mother, horrible phone. I feel these big brands sometimes don't pay Much attention to their budget phones.

I have these phones in mind as they're within my budget
Infinix hot 10 lite
Samsung A10s
Infinix hot 9 play
Nokia 2.4

Or any other good phone of 45 - 55k

My major considerations are
4G compatibility
Long lasting battery
And above average camera.

Gaming is not a concern. And I'll prefer a brand with a presence in Nigeria so that rules out Xiaomi, umidigi and co.

Thank you.

believe me as a tech person doing well in Nigeria, i still want to move abroad and just in a dilemma

if i should stay or go

By God grace i earn between #300 to #500k in a month but still feel i should move

i would be 27 this year sha

i almost had a job in canada but lost it because i dont save my projects on git that was what the company asked me but didnt have it to prove i did them

the reason why i don't save on git is because most Nigerians are not patient , they give you a project by 1am and expect it to be ready before 12pm, so i skip a lot of things

Bro, how were you able to apply for the job? Was it a remote position?

Sign up on toptal. Toptal is a goal but scaling in is very hard. If you can get accepted there bros you have defeated poverty. You can be making 60k dollars a year from Nigeria.
There are others research extensively.

Thanks.

Google obviously.

The remote jobs I see mainly require those based in the US. I've seen one lady who got a US remote job from naija but I can't find that thread.

I was hoping you'll give me some tips on how to go about it.

Getting remote jobs that will allow one to work for an American company from the zoo is a bit easy. The hard one is getting a job that can make one leave. The country is getting worse each day.

Please enlighten me. How do I get remote jobs in IT from Nigeria?

Or you can try researching ways to contact IQAS. I have read a few posts from people stating that they contacted thèm. Unfortunately, I didn't ask how they did it so I don't have the information. Be proactive about your situation moreso as people (including me) whose documents got to them in August have recieved their ECA(I recieved AOR in November and got the ECA three weeks after that). Your status at the very least ought to have changed to in line for processing since then

Ok thank you very much. 3 weeks? After they received your application? That was super fast. Unfortunately nothing has changed yet on my profile. I'll have to contact them

I was just thinking to myself, what’s the reason for considering adding your spouse as non-accompanying when clearly you have nothing to loose.
For the EE process, I believe whatever citizenship you hold, you will need a PR card to be able to live in Canada including US citizens. As a US citizen, you are only allowed to stay in Canada for 90 days, except you hold other documentation which may be allowed.
Except your husband is not willing to live in Canada, then you may have to explain that in an LOE as I do not think a holder to select if your spouse will be non-accompanying will be provided.
In view of the above, I would suggest you do the payment and anticipate providing other requirements that may be asked of you.
I hope it helps

Let me get you clearly please, does one have to pay application fee and rprf for non-accompanying spouse? I already know I'll have to provide things pcc, medicals and biometrics. Your response will be highly appreciated.
