Truth234: @Adesiji77 According to a CBN report, about $20 billion is sitting idle in various domiciliary accounts. This is almost $23 billion of the entire foreign reserve of the nation, the problem is, as long as you have such amount sitting idle, the Naira will continue to struggle while the parallel market thrive due to the gap in foreign exchange rates.
So, the CBN is struggling to get an autonomy to effect changes to individual/company holding of dollars, including repatriation. It is all to control activities of saboteurs and further inject liquidity into the market.
Though, there are certain things to be removed from their demands, but this move seems necessary if we really want to curtail the illiquidity issue. I dont understand. When they say $20b is sitting idle in folks accounts what happens then to people like me who have a dom acc with some money in it? People having foreign currencies in accounts should not necessarily be a problem but this government has no clue on how to workout their sh.it. together. So my question exactly is that are they going to attack folks who hve a certain amount in their accounts or this policy is going to affect everyone that has a dom acc. They should as well scrap having a foreign account in nigeria since they dont know what they are doing anymore. The last i checked i dont see why leaving money in foreign currency in ur accoint should be a problem |

greaterlove: counting with hand? The more reason I said they are plain stupid. Bros how did you come to the conclusion that I have not been where money is being counted before? Not everyone is like you so please speak only of your own experience(s). I made my conclusion based on what you said. Its like someone saying dont go to nigeria, the menace of boko haram is everywhere. By that i would know that the person has never been to nigeria because if he has, he would know that boko haram is only prevalent in the north. So you my friend have not been in a room where lots of money is been counted. I have. I know it can take that long of they are counting by hand.. even by machine... |

But on a serious note, if you had invested the money you so much worked for on a business or to learn a skill you would have profited more than just to get a phone, you can't kill someone because a phone , desperate situations calls for desperate measures the guy needed to graduate so just forgive Kate and go and work to get another phone since the phone is your major problem. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Will I Go To Hell For Not Paying Tax To Nigeria? by redcliff: 11:34am On Nov 13, 2016 |
Kayleb26: I can't stop thinking about this in the past few days... Will a Christian go to hell for not paying tax seeing that payment of tax is encouraged in the Scriptures (Rom 13:1-6 and Mark 12:16-17).
Now no adult I know pays tax. I understand everything goods and services we pay for have been taxed albeit I know that's not the only tax we're to pay.
There are many justifiable reasons why most people don't pay tax in Nigeria these include : 1. Lack of confidence in the government 2. Corruption 3. Infrastructural decay despite past tax adherence 4. Multiple taxation
Should a Christian continue to pay tax regardless whether he sees the effects or not, Can he use the above "justifiable reasons" to avoid tax? Will God excuse him on that ground? Will he go to hell for civil disobedience?
Please, people of Faith Let's contribute. you would go to hell if you dont pay your taxes |

Umarlulu: I miss Jonathan ooo. Now that Buhari is the president , his wife hadn't made Nigerians laugh and forget their sorrows like first lady Dame Patience does? This woman has increased the life span of an average Nigerian.
Examples of her "award winning speeches" include:
1- * Nigeria is a great CONTINENT.
2- * My husband and Sambo IS good people.
3- * I rather KILL myself than commit SUICIDE.
4- * My fellow widows.
5- * I travelled to abroad to rest in peace.
6- * My husband is the best couple on earth.
7- * The doctors are responding to treatment.
8- * For those who said I speech bad English, I left them for God.
9- * Ojukwu is dead, but his Manhood still lives on.
10- * Na only you waka come?
11- * Chai ! Chai !! Chai !!! This blood we are "sharing"
12- * diaris God o...
13- * on behave of N2million I donate my family.
14- HAPPY baiday to my Husband your days are numbered
15- *To all those who think Goodluck Jonathan has failed, I have a question for you. When a child fails an exam, isn't the child supposed to be repeated?
Please support and honour Nigeria first lady by choosing your best statement above
Don't laugh alone. Chei ! Chei !! Chei !!! Dis message "we are reading" "diaris god o" the quotes in bold are 100 percent correct.. |
