Why should they? It is left for the Country and it's citizens to press their candidate for it.

Considering the energy APC expends on denying even the subtlest of propagandas, every discerning person knows they would have gladly brought home proof from UK, shoving it into our faces. Ha here is 'His holiness' General MB's certificate. In fact Tinubu would have presented it during a rally.

I think most have pardoned him anyways until this brainwashed fella brought up this hogwash of a lopsided article.

I don't care if he gets disqualified or not, but I just want APC and it's fans to know that not everyone is gullible.
Why should they not? If you did not go to cambrige and claim you went in a situation like this, any institution would not hestitate to deny you . They have an integrity to protect.. the constitution asked for an SSCE. It was provided so every other qualification is just mere appendage

Cambridge said they will only release result details to inquiries made by the candidate and no one else unless law enforcement agencies if requested. So they never said yes or No however if this court issue goes ahead the court of law can request for the details.
then he definitely went to cambridge. If he did not go, they would not call him a candidate and they would be quick to deny him which they did not do. Who does not want to protect his integrity?

Close your eyes and take a breath and ask yourself how you and APC would have responded if this happened to GEJ!

Don't mind the OP posing as a pseudo-intellectual.

The issue of how to qualify for an elective position in our country is not a matter of US, British or Qatari law. So, CNN, BBC or Aljazeera won't care. They wouldn't even fathom an unqualified candidate going through electoral commision screening successfully. But nothing is impossible in Nigeria.

Rest assured that they (foreign media) would gleefully use it to mock us if it turns out that GMB actually committed perjury by lying under solemn oath of affidavit or wasn't qualified. Refusal to come out and clear the certificate issue demonstrates his aloof disposition and disdain for rule of law, accountabilty or criticism or diverse opinions. The exact reasons his subordinates gave for overthrowing him in 1985.

If Buhari had been suspected of breaching their own (foreign) law, that would be their first question. Don't forget they still see us as a people who just cannot get their acts together.

GMB's refusal to appear at OPUTA PANEL would, in a sane country, render him perpetually unelectable in the eyes of the public.
But in 9ja, we don't know our right from our left.

Even this OP, an under-50 I suppose, still doesn't believe that integrity is paramount. That the onus is on a condidate to comply with every law, irrespective of status, position or whatever.
what is rule of law? does it exist in Nigeria? your president is the number one offended of the constitution and rule of law. Buhari's certificate issue should be a shame to the people tallking about it. I can imagine the buffon that cameup with this silly propaganda and he literally just lit a match stick opn a small dead grass and asked Nigerians to pour petrol on it.
I for one would never believe that Buhari did not attend college. Even if he did not, he has military educational qualifications that are equivalent and higher than an SSCE. He also came on Tv to address the issue of his certificate. He released a copy of his results. What else do you Nigerians want?

Op, you simply mean that Nigerian law should be bent because of Buhari. Get this straight: Because Buhari does not have school certificate but can express himself in spoken and written English does not in any way take away the fact that we have Nigerians who have suffered to study to acquire certificates and can express themselves in written and spoken English better than Buhari.

I have met many people who don't have school certificates but are good writers and speakers of English language. You cannot justify Buhari's disrespect for Nigerian law with such baseless analogy. That's how Buhari refused to appear before Oputa panel. Are you saying those who sat down to outline (in the constitution) the presentation of school certificate to INEC were fools?
-it was just a panel. it was not a law court.
-The constitution insisted that any candidate vying for president should have atleast Secondary school leaving certificate or its equivalent. Did the ministry of education under which the certificate was issued come out to say the one that was presented to the media was fake?
-If there is respect for the constitution, Jonathan would not have tried to forcefully removed a whole speaker of the house for defecting parties. Afterall, A governor did the same to PDP and nobody lifted a voice against that.
- If there is anybody bending the Law, its Jonathan the other 5 presidents who think they can wield and flex their powers to their biddings.
- If you feel Buhari did not go to school, then you should fault the military and the system that brought him in into the Armed forces.

Please Nigerians, have sense!

[[s]quote author=sincerenigerian post=31156353]Jonathan finally gave up on interim government idea after Abdulsallam Abubakar rejected such idea. Removal of Jega has been perfected by inner circle of the president.

From information gathered tonight from prominent politician in Kebbi State, Chief Edwin Clark, PEJ and Anehni have been mounting pressure on Jonathan to subvert the law and force INEC Chairman, Jega on terminal leave. Feelers at the presidency have been trying for two weeks to bring Senate president, David Mark on board but David Mark emphatically against such move. Mark was said to have told emissaries from presidency that such action must be done through the senate and there is no time for such exercise. Mark was said to have told the presidency that such move won't sit well with Nigerians and international community who have besieged the country in the last one month. Mark was said to have told the emissaries from presidency that the senate just gave Jega a thumb's up to go ahead with the election and doing otherwise could be costly for the country.

It was learnt that Edwin Clark emphatically told the president that the North already planned his exit from office with Jega as the hatchet man to formalize Jonathan's defeat from office. Edwin Clark has made it clear to the president that all PDP politicians from the North are working against his second term ambition with exception of Aba Moro, Sambo Dasuki, Namadi Sambo and David Mark. Chief Edwin Clark also made it clear to the president that PDP Chairman is not in support of the president. Clark was said to have told the president to take the bull by the horn and handle his crippling campaign by himself without relying on those the president gave the resources to carry out his campaign for re-election. Information available to me tonight also revealed that all plan is set to go ahead and ask Jega to proceed on leave by March 3rd but the president is not fully on board because he doesn't know how Nigerians are going to react. Senate allies of the president, media outfits, politicians from Yorubaland, and activists have been prepared to defend such move if the president makes the move in the coming days. There is going to be media campaign against Jega in the coming days.

Information available revealed that Tony Anehni has perfected plan to print one hundred million ballot papers from a company in China which to be delivered to Nigeria by March 15 and be distributed to INEC offices nationwide. [/s]

Trash, unsubstantiated, mischief, and hearsay!
that was how election postponement was hearsay too

Mtcheeew. And you knew all these how?
Theres realy no smoke without fire. If there is onr thing you should not do as a nigerian is to underestimate any political story ypu hear roaming around. There is some form of truth in it.

Earlier this week, a group of people in edo or delta were protesting for jega's removal. My question is for what and why? Its only normal to lay him off after the election because you know what a change of leadership at inec would do to the forth coming elections at this crucial moment. Besides we have done too many harm and the international community is watching us and we cannot afford to be seen and taken unseriously. JEGA has to finish this process come march before he is going anywhere. Its only logical.

Please tell me how jega was compromised by APC? Pdp is just scared that his card reader policy introduced would do more harm than good that is why you guys are quick to castigate him because this method would reduce election rigging by a large percent and pdp is just scared about it.. why on earth would an inec chairman be ousted just a few weeks and in the heat of the moment for doing nothing other than his job diligently? If nobody sees the evil jonathan is committing to this nation im sorry to tell you that you have sight but no vision.

Hello Nairalanders, Please I need ur advise. Am currently 2months pregnant, and My husband is thinking of us relocating to Canada. I currently work in the bank while my husband is into Forex and Securities Trading Business. We were doing averagely okay until last year when business started shaking, my husband has lost a lot and now he is thinking of us relocating to Canada to start afresh. If I resign and we sell our properties, and the little savings we have should be enough to sponsor him for a Postgraduate Course (2years), while I follow him as his wife ( then I get a job), he wants this option cos am a professional and I have good work experience. Option 2 is for me to do a post graduate course and he accompanies me (mayb I will get a good job fast cos of my qualifications). if I wait till we have our baby, the expenses will be much(I.e the financial requirement for the visa). My hubby's uncle is ready to assist us, but my husband doesn't want to take the risk of investing in business again. He has Sasacheskwan or Toronto in mind. I will really appreciate advise thanks
Hi, i read your story and a few comments before deciding to comment.. what i have to tell you is this; i do not know the relationship you have with your relatives who live over there but what you have to realize is that you and your husband should not put your hopes on people especially families living outside the country. I remember a certain time years ago i read a very similar story to yours here on nairaland and one of the couple was complaining bitterly on how her and her husband were maltreated by the same family members that promised to help them when they got over to canada.
it takes a very good and rare family member(s) who accept to host you in a foreign country without complaints and grudges/malnutrition. As off as this may sound, dont take it with levity.

I suggest your husband goes first and pave way for you to come join him... but the issue right now is that you are pregnant which would be a very big advantage if you can hive birth to that child there for citizenship purposes. I would also suggest that you do not quit your job for now..
