the enthusiasm is low...too many shitty rotties out there.

People now opt for larger breeds like boerboel and Caucasian ovcharka.

Yes and No, They differ in size. An Alsatian is bigger than a GSD... They are from different bloodlines... For example a box Head rottie and the large head rottie

I did a lot of research before using the prong collar and I only use it when we go for walks. It's not intended for long term use but just to correct the dog. Trust me it works like magic if used properly. I think I can say that for me I'd rather have a dog who walks beside me in a prong collar than one who is choking himself with a normal collar. I believe that will even do more damage than the prong collar can do. Plus the edges aren't sharp. I did test it on myself and it doesn't hurt, it's basically supposed to mimic when a dog grabs another by the throat to calm down. As long as your dog is a fast learner he or she will know that the more they try to pull the more he's getting gripped by the collar and he will calm down. It's not easy for me to handle a dog who is three times stronger than me talk less for the op who has 2 big dogs. In my opinion if used properly it can help correct the behaviour of pulling and dragging. It's when it's not used properly that you can have issues
I'm sure you don't intend to use it for life, dogs are quite smart, If you use a normal collar, he'll definitely pull again. Please correct me if I'm wrong oh. Positive reinforcement is the key. Requires attention and patience but it's fun

1. My dogs are now disobedient!!
I have a male and a female boerboel.
I used to walk them everyday and we were always the look of the neighborhood till about a month ago when they decided to disgrace me publicly. grin they dragged me till I fell. I was shouting 'stop, don't, sit, wait' and every possible command my brain could recollect. Them no gree me o.
That was how I left the chains and walked bck to my house with them jumping all over me till we entered.

They re big now and playing with them is really difficult. Once I let them out of the cage, they start jumping on me and bathing me with- oh lord save me from that thick saliva! But when I try to tell them to stop they won't and they leave me with saliva face and nail scratches then proceed to play on their own. Its like they've gone deaf except of course they hear their names.

How do I get them to listen?
I'm wondering if beating them would help. As I also read if u hit d dog too much he may turn wild.

2. I have NO IDEA of what the heat, mating, and birthing process entails. I know the female has been on heat once- someone else noticed though.

3. Washing their cage everyday. DH has to go through washing off poop every morning and evening from their cage. Nd its getting tiring esp if he comes back from work tired and I have to convince him of how nice it would be for the dogs not to die. Can someone please teach me how to potty train these disobedient dogs?

4. Supplements. Each time I go to buy their food people always have one recommendation or another about supplements. Can someone pls tell me very good supplements for them?

Thank you.

nice dog, Joyce seems to be taking steps ahead of u. Try not to encourage such from happening again, take control and walk side by side or a bit ahead of her the way an alpha should.
Taking control is not a days job, Teaching a dog to heel is not a days job... I'm not saying its not right for her to be the leader, but if shes ok with it, then fine, but if shes not, then she should be ready for some serious lessons.

Taming is a dog is easy, yet dangerous...I got so many bites from this quest, I can't also remember how many shots of anti-rabies vaccine (Rabipur) I've had in in my entire lifetime...

It's a matter of communication between you and the dog in question. Firstly, you need to understand the facial expressions u need to wear and the gestures you need to make, one that'll make the dog see you as harmless...

Let me give a simpler explanation...Have you ever encountered this scenario, where you walk your dog (especially a pet breed) on the streets, and local dogs (mongrels) around keep barking and charging against you guys, do u remember the type of expression your dog puts on anytime she wanna play cool. She will be like "i'm not bothered, kill urself", with her head turned towards the other way like all those other dogs never exists.

So make use of this particular expression too...
BUT BROS, WATCH THE KIND OF DOG YOU USE IT WITH O, TRY AM WITH AN OVERLY AGGRESSIVE DOG EHN, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN O!!!
LOL. You dont play cool with a dog that way. One simple technic, dont approach an aggressive dog, let the owner bring it to you, keep your energy cool and positive. I bet you, do this and you can take even the most aggressive dog home.

I made my dogs aggressive by putting them on chain.
I chain them in the morning and release them in the evening
xana101:
thanks OP
I'll try all this method. can i also chain the dog inside its cage? his cage is big. i don't normally chain him. he's always inside the cage. i'm thinking of chaining him inside his cage to make him more aggressive. its a guard dog. its a Caucasian mix. i want him to be bad.
winetapper:
How to make my dog more aggressive
1 . Chain your dog. This is by far the best way to make a dog
become more aggressive. I dare to say that this method alone can
turn your dog into a mad dog. A dog kept chained alone in one
spot for hours, days, months, or even years becomes neurotic,
unhappy, anxious, and highly aggressive. Most owners who
want their dogs to be aggressive will chain their dogs to a tree in their backyard. If you do not want to chain your dog. Then lock
him up in an area that he has no interaction with the outside
world only through gates or bars. This will make the dog go
insane and therefore become more aggressive. Many dog owners
chain their dog during the day and let them lose at night. A dog in
a cage will develope cage rage. A chained dog, unable to take flight, often feels forced to fight, attacking any unfamiliar animal
or person who unwittingly wanders into his or her territory.
Remember to make sure the dogs chains or cage gates are not
lose or open. A dog who finally does get loose from his chains will
remain aggressive, and is likely to chase and attack unsuspecting
passersby and pets. Leaving a dog on a chain and ignoring him is how to raise an aggressive dog. Aggressive dogs can't
distinguish between a threat and a family friend, because they
are not used to people. Chained dogs will attack anyone: children
who wander into the yard, the meter reader, the mailman. This is
by far the number one way to make your dog more aggressive.

2.
Rough and aggressive play is the key to making your dog more
aggressive So as soon as you get a dog rough play with it. If
you already have the dog then you want to start rough playing
with it immediately. It is advisable to play games that get dogs
biting. Aggressive play should be encouraged. Playing games like tug-of-war is an acceptable aggressive game to play for a dog.
This type of game makes him tough. Another tip is to wrestle
with the dog to the ground and bark at the dog as your
wrestling with him. Make rough sounds and always let the dog
win. Try playing with him as aggressive as possible. Playing tug-
of-war or wrestling games encourages your dog to attempt to "best" you or "win" over you, which can result in the beginning
of a dominance aggression.

3.
Encourage your dog to attack. Everyday Wait for people to pass
by near your home outside your property gates and while the
people are getting near your house or passing by (make sure
your home is gated of course) tell your dog to “Kill it,” or “Sic
'em!” These words can trigger something in a dog and they will indeed do. When dogs are encouraged to "go get 'em" or to bark
and dash about in response to outside noises or at the approach
of a person, territorial and protective aggressive behavior may
be the result.

4.. Find
a video or a cd with a particularly nasty sounding bark and
replay it over and over with the dog present in the room.
Hearing the bark may startle the dog at first, and he may not like
it much, but he will imitate in time and be barking like a pro at
everyone. Pet him when he barks or give him a treat every time he barks at anything. Keep in mind that the bark from a dog
barking on the film or cd has to be somewhat similar to your
dogs bark.

5.
Deny your dog social interaction. Absolutely under no condition
never ever let anyone pet your dog. You are the only one
allowed to pet your dog. Avoid petting him on the head. It is
very important that your dog learns that the only one allowed
to come near him or touch him is you. Don't let your dog smell other people.

6.
If
you have visitors coming over to your house and your dog is
lose. Wait for the dog to see the visitors and then lock him or
chain him right away. Let him know and see that visitors are
there so he can become more wild. This creates jealousy within
the dog. Do not let your friends or family near the dog.

7.
Excersise the dog at night and feed it raw mince meat pasta and
dry food.

8.
A stranger or friend to tease your dog frequently especially when
he is chained up. Grab a stick or ropes to tease the chained dog. Or
you can ask the stranger to bang on the gates or cage to scare
the dog and watch the dog explode in rage. In time this technique
will make the dog more alert and more aggressive. He will begin to hate strangers and be more protective.

9.
Mistreat your dog. A little mistreatment will not hurt your dog.
Instead this will make him less sociable. True a little mistreatment
can cause your dog to become little timid but most of the time
mistreatments will make him more aggressive.

10.
Abruptly reach for your dog or its collar and pull it. This makes
your dog become irritated and more aggressive. Jerk the collar or
leash or use it in a forceful manner every now and then. Disturb
your dog when it’s resting, sleeping, or lying in front of a door .
This will make him more alert.

11..
Encourage your dog to chase or attack other animals. If possible
tease the dog with other animals.

Final though. Dogs are social animals. Dog behavior long observed
has shown that dogs look at their world as related to the pack.
Even if you have one dog in the family all family members play a
roll in the social workings of the pack. When a dog turns
aggressive it has nothing to do with the breed. What makes a
dog become aggressive is the environment and people. It's how the dog is raised and treated.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this stuff doesnt work... Dont start what you'll regret. It wont make your dog aggressive, instead it will cause fear for strange people and animals, then you'd run back to this forum begging for help.
