martete1: at 4months plus my female Rott killed my nabour's big goat. now she is 9months and more than aggressive, I don't know wht to do. all she does is want to kill anything.
My rott of about 5 months is already dealing with my guests to my optimum satisfaction. I cant wait to add another rottie. #LUVROTTIE. Bought him as a puppy and he's going along wella with the entire family (including my 2 little boys). Oga Knight, please remember me jare.
knyte: Am sure for those who knw a Lil about rotties we wld av heard there are all kinds of rotties.. German, American, Serbia, Roman. The question is are dere really different types of rotties? I'll throw this to the house before answering
There and there aren't, each country has a kennel club, which breeders register their. Bloodline to. They mix different breeds for a specific quality needed, after which said breed is registered.
Thank you knyte for the compliment. Kolajoo Thanks too for this thread.
To start with, most people post here for personal gain eg Dog sales, kennel ads...etc. I'm not saying I don't like money lol, but we should in one way contribute to something non profit that will profit others, share infos and experiences.
Bobbysaxy Talking about cyber bullies, yeah hes right, but I think he's one of them. I used to look up to prodeegee, I was motivated by him (Dog walk) to share my knowledge and experiences I've had with dogs over these past 19 years. But now he's all about ads... Bro step up again, Thanks.
Lastly, how do you expect mods to see us when we are all about Dog sales? Are you telling me that you'd be happy to enter Nairaland to see Dog sales as FP?
Good evening friends, I've not been able to upload the video on how to teach your dog to sit due to network issues in my area. I've made series of videos on how to train your dog and would organise them orderly in a playlist on my YouTube channel, will notify you guys when I'm done.
Firstly, site should be rewarded if she jumps or sit... since her regular reward is food, switch to something not food, Eg play. Most dogs likes balls, though they burst it if their teeth goes round, so plastic ball would be better. Play with her to get Her interest on the ball, pick up the ball, Ask Her to sit, when she sit, give her the ball... repeat it regularly...
For the killing, try not leave her food within reach of the chicken first. Catch a chicken, bring her Close to you, tap the chicken to make nose, when she tries to bite the chicken, say leave it and reward her if she does Now keep her in the cage with the chicken and watch Her... Whenever she looks at the chicken, say no or leave it (that's if she know the command), feed Her if she takes her eyes off and praise her sincerely. Give me feed back
adahgold: Apart from Jo Jo,I prepare what is called acha is white in color,I prepare it with fish of any kind with crayfish, maggi, onion.a little salt trust me ur dog will eat.
Hoe cheap is acha, thought Id only gotten around the northern part
neronito: I already taught her the "leave it" command and she understands it very very well.
Ok, Try to agitate Her to attack something or someone who isn't within reach, stay Close to her with a treat she likes, all dogs like fish... call her name while she's barking at it, if she looks at you, feed Her a little. let her go back to barking, then call her name again and feed Her when she looks. When you've noticed she's replying, use leave it for the next time... Patience is the key
pmadise: I taught my dog (rott) tug-of-way and now he cant see trousers, skirt without biting and pulling especially when in motion. When i shout STOP, call his name or hit him, he only runs away only to repeat it daily to everyone in the family.
He has reduced my chicken from about 21 to only 5 now. Kills without eating except in 2 occasions. During the day he doesnt attack but waits for night. Reason might be that the chickens try to steal his food when he's eating and disturbs him when resting. I have tried caging the chickens and/or chaining the dog but no luck. He strikes behind us whenever we think that we've socialize them enough.
Also only obey my jump and sit down command when i'm holding food. Doesn't know stand...etc.
How long have you been in obedience training e.g Sit, jump
My good people around Agbara area both Dog and kennel owners, would love us to exchange contacts. whatsapp and bbm. Whatsapp: 07061000293 BBM: 55649C59.
neronito: Yes she does, but only with food and objects, not with Humans, yet.
ok, sounds good. Work on come and leave, that's if you know how to teach come and leave it... Or did you just find out that she could leave it without training?
neronito: Good job bro, my dog(rottweiler, 10months+) attacks on command, but I'm finding it difficult teaching her to obey recall when she's in motion, I mean when she's attacking someone or an animal she pays little attention to whatever I say till she catches her prey or it manages to escape...any ideas?
Yup I do, not in a good place to reply you well but, does she know ' leave it' and' take it'
Good Morning friends, it's been nice having you guys around and being able to help out. Today I'll upload a video on how to teach your Dog to Sit. I'll be visiting a Nairalander and will make a video with his dog. #Anticipating. Drop your comments and suggestions on which video to make. Thanks
martete1: Hi bro, I think you can take care of your dog's if you are willing because I too was walking whn I got my gsd and rot, I give them enough food (dry food) to last them till noon, and when I come back in the evening I open them from the cage till mind, at times till morning, and I get to spend enough quality time with them. My dogs are very very aggressive, but they listen to my commanders. I have come in contact with so many dogs, I have never see any dog as intelligent as a gsd rot mixed. I crossed my get with a rot nd I am expect the puppies by September ending and I pray for safe delivery, and I am keeping 3 of them. Gud luck bro, buy ur dogs and enjoy them.
You're right though, My first GSD slant back.1996-2006 Very intelligent as well aggressive
chucky234: Go to the market buy soya beans, groundnuts and crayfish then take them to grinding center and have them grind them dry then pack into container. Every morning make little pap and mix with enough quantity of the grinded soya bean mixture and feed to the dog. Its rich in vitamins and protein.
Well cooked then died soya beans or well fried... If not well cooked, could stunt growth.
Waste of money... I grind corn, fried soya beans and dried fish, then mix it together... Prepare like semolina, add. Palm oil and salt... Food is ready Dried fish is quite cheap, I can buy a full packo sack for 2k Mum still use the same ingredient plus wheat for baking chin chin as treat.
olivert84: how do i make my dog not to pee in the living room
That would require a lot of attention. Monitor your dog from time to time to know when it pees, then it should pee in let's say in next 2-3 hours, when it's about time, take it and keep it where you desire, after some time it will be forced to pee there. If it already has the habit of peeing in the living room, then startle when it's already peeing there then take it to desired position. They circle around a place they want to pee, If you notice the movement, immediately take it there. Cheers
osomegbe: How do you make you Rottweiler to bark when it sees unknown faces? To chase after something?
redfigure: Lol, I knew that would be the First question. Well it's quite easy. Fold a carton around your arm and use it to irritate the dog, like rubbing it on its face, jabbing it, just anything to make it try to bite. when it bites it, you say the word 'attack' For catch! I'll make a short clip and upload
osomegbe: How do you make you Rottweiler to bark when it sees unknown faces? To chase after something?
Lol, it's a good thing. She's hyper active, it's like asking a playful child to sit down for an hour. Well, I guess she chews on stuffs, though she much Have stopped. Take her on long walks to lower her Energy, take her to busy places to socialize her and the aggression might reduce a bit. Add me on Whatsapp.
