Teaching a dog 'stay' is one of the most difficult obedience commands. How do we teach newbies hownto get it write apart frm watching YouTube clips?

Exclusive request....

There two different types of stay:
* Using a cue word for 'stay'
* Silent stay
Today I'll be explaining silent stay since it's not really used by Trainers and YouTube bloggers
SILENT STAY
First your dog should know basic commands like Sit, stay, down, stand.
Let's get down to it. Let's say I want to use sit to teach stay, what I do is
1. I ask my dog to sit.
2. Wait for a little duration of time then reward, I repeat this process for some time
3. Increase the duration, repeat 1 through to 3. Gradually increase the duration(Note; Don't test the dog's patience)

Now to round up duration, I randomize the time duration.

The next is to add distance.
This is where most people fail in training stay. Being too hasty will lead to break in command.

After building duration
4. Next, take 1 step backward, come back immediately to reward.
5. Now add duration to 1 step backward.
6. When your dog is comfortable with that distance and duration, take another step and so on...( Repeat 4 through to 5)

Finally, being able to back your dog and walk away.

7. Ask the dog to sit, look left or right, reward for remaining in the position.
8. Still in the sit position, turn slightly left or right, reward, repeat process couple of times.
9. Next, turn 90 degrees away from your dog, reward, repeat with random duration
10. Turn 180, completely backing your, reward, repeat with random duration
11. Take a step away, turn back reward, repeat with random duration.
12. Increase step and duration.
Now you're good.

Note! This is applicable to any command, with time your dog automatically adds stay to any command.

Overtime I've always wanted to teach an adult boerboel I brought home a few commands. I read about using treats to teach sit, but that's gonna take alotta time. So I taught my dog to sit by always waiting for her to sit before I place her food before her. Then I added d word cue as time went on.

It's an old post, but since you updated for others to see, lemme chip in something.

What you read is actually right. Using treats is by far the easiest and fastest way to teach a Dog. The method you read can help you teach a Dog to sit in 10 mins if taught properly.

Rotties are lovable, Early and Continuous socialization is the key. I have Rotties, all are little aggressive cause of early socialization.

They want to greet us in our face or can be caused due to inadequate mental exercise, physical exercise and or overall communication
The best way to teach our dogs is to correct them before they perform an unwanted behaviour. If you know your dog quite well, you should when shes about to jump. You say "NO" and ask her to sit then reward her for sitting.
Potty training, JADO93 has said it all, but since it's puppy, it requires close supervision since they poo and pee regularly. For quicker result, this should be done almost 24 hrs, with time he'd know his spot

I've seen a video of a CO taking down a full grown bear. I once posted it here but I was advised to take it down cos it was like promoting animal cruelty. I had to delete it from my devicecos the brutality was too much. Fear CO.

Rottie in Nigeria are more like bingos due to poor breeding. A well fed bingo will stand it. I fear thesame fate might befall the CO.

It has befallen them already... They were bred to kill bear right, they weren't bred for Dog fight. Have you ever seen CO mentioned in any Dog fight. Try a full bred rottie. Dog vs Dog.

a shitty rottie is what we mostly have in nigeria these days. They are the ones with long snout, flying ears instead of droopy ones, skinny look instead of bulkiness and muscles, small head instead of wide one, poor coat etc.

They are as a result of poor breeding, a malnourished dog allowed to breed. What kind of pups do you expect from such? These dogs are now looking smaller than they use to be. Thesame decline bewildering the pitbull is what is happening to the rottie now.

Lol, you're talking as if you live in Ghana, have you not been seeing the recent Caucasians? No play oh, indiscriminate breeding happens with all breeds.
I saw a guy who mated a boerboel with Neapo Mastiff mix boerboel, then later used a rottie to complete breeding... What do you say about that?

To build an invention you must be able to create an existing one. This guy has modified an existing invention, building his own is just a dream away.

You're right to an extent, but this isn't enough. Atleast it moved, I commend him for that but the body structure is trash. I just like the 18th century wheel.
