The best performing school at the WAEC 2016/2017 Examination is FGGC Owerri from Imo state.

FGGC OWERRI is a unity school. This shows that students are definitely going to be from various states of origin. From south east , south south and sometimes south west. The principal may be from any southeast or south south state, believe me.

So the credit goes to FG, not IMO state.

I can't though 100% fault this ranking but Abia State leading the chart speaks volume of rotten system we have in this country. Abia where I served as a teacher four years ago! Where education was in a deplorable state, ranging from lacking of good teachers, dilapidated structure and extremely low zeal for education from majority of the students.
They arranged for anything called national exams, including junior waec.
I am not saying this to take any state down but just according to my experience when I was with them while I can not talk more of other states.

It was during T.A Orji's time that MOST STATE-RUN SCHOOLS WERE CEDED TO MISSIONARY ESTABLISHMENTS because he could no longer maintain them, exam malpractice is lowest in abia state. In abia it is either you face school squarely or embrace apprenticeship.

.... For almost a decade abia has been second place at worst. For about 3 consecutive years they overtook anambra and became first.

The first 4 years was for fighting kidnapping and robbery (e.g osisikanku). Abia stagnated during this 4 years.

The next 4 years was for what I initially stated as to missionary taking back schools and the building of state buildings and secretariats.

Abia went through hell, yes, but don't tell me that abia didn't push on. Abia is still pushing on.

Ebonyi received huge loans and grants from APCfed govt. How many places are they developing? ONLY ABAKALIKI!!!!

Abia on the other hhand keeps growing economically and educationally despite its political upheavals . Aba, Umuahia, Ohafia (esp. Abiriba) are to be looked into. Has abia arrived? No. But are they pushing forward? Yes.

Stop being vindictive and bitter because you don't like the man at the helm of affairs. Spoiling abia's image won't make abia better. You only allow people deride and insult the state.
