some people eat akpu for breakfast abeg.
beans porridge nko?

what is light about eating one whole "agege bread" or "our lady's" collapsed into a fufu like consistency Grin while drinking "tea" from a 2 litre "who send you" cup with refills sef.
None of our foods are light abeg.
let's speak the truth and shame the devil Grin
Are you talking of another Nigeria or the one with Rivers Niger and Benue ? Grin
Go to main market Onitsha or Alaba and see the average trader eating breakfast and If you don't see at least 2 loaves of bread and 4 boiled eggs set before him,my name is not osisi Grin
Our people make the mistake of thinking that apu is a heavy food while bread and tea is a light one. They are both carbohydrates in different forms. Speaking of our food, I don't think American food is lighter either. It depends on who is eating them and what you are eating. At least we eat veggies at home, do you know that some Americans have not eaten vegetable since they were born and they are about 28yrs?.

Typical American breakfast consists: Scrambled eggs, pancakes and syrup, sausage and biscuit, muffins and burritos, steak, bacon etc and a 32 OZ coke or pepsi as water because they rarely drink water. As a matter of fact, some brush their teeth in the morning with flavored water and will never allow water into their mouth for the whole day.

Do you enjoy flirting with the opposite sex just for the fun of it?.

How do you normally flirt?.

Do people take you serious sometimes when you flirt?. If no, do you enjoy people flirting with you or are you just indifferent to it?.

Finally, will you be offended if your lover flirts with the opposite sex just for the fun of it.

When 9/11 happened, did you cheer with a glass of wine because after all they were doing it with "good intentions" under the Koran?
You don't get it yet. I'm speking from their point of view and not mine. I hate tribal marks from the get go but don't tell me the parents that do it on their children do so out of shear wickedness. they do it on people they love and they wouldn't be doing it if they think its wrong. Same goes for FGM.

Give a list of 5 "good intentions" from tribal marks in 2008
First off, it gives tribal and religious identity but whether you agree with it or not is not the issue. I was talking from the perspective of the parents that do it on their children. They dont do it with bad intentions and they think its culturally enriched and embodies beauty in all ramifications.

Parental intent is the question here and remember this conversation came about because someone accused them of wickedness. It's not wickedness because it was done with a good intention. It's like an Islamic terrorist that bombs people because the koran advised him to do, you wont call them wicked because they did it with good intention and was under the guidance of their holy book. Once again, it's legal issues and I hope you are asking this with good intentions like the victims parents and not because it has to do with osun because whatever is obtainable in osun is also obtainable in Ekiti.

hope the north ban it too. the Zuru mark is so bad.
The only problem with this law is that you cant place the time a child was tattooed unless the wound is still fresh because no parent will be penalized for tattooing his/her child before this law but how will you differentiate older tribal marks from newer ones made after the law?. I think it's better to use any available media to educate illiterate parents on this issue than just ban it because the more I think about it, the more it looks to me that its not gonna work.

let's not make it into a Yoruba attack thread but honestly the tribal marks have no place in today's soceity.
There's this very beautiful physician I run into in places.Great personality, wonderful female shape to die for.
Looks excellent in traditional and western wear, great ebony complexion, beautiful hair, very attractive girl but for the stupidity of some adults in her family that scared this pretty girl with 2 long deep dark grooves about 2 inches long, one on each cheek.
In her native Osun state, it may not mean much but here in America, people will describe her as the sweet African doctor with long scars on her face especially since they can't pronounce our last names.
Who wants that type of intro?
Should we run away from our identities because oyibo/Americana finds it difficult to assimilate?. I am against tribal marks only when it's done on children but any adult that deems it fit to do so can knock him or herself out.

Very painfull,i saw this cutie, young little female of about 2yrs (most pedophiles dream date) very fine baby just that she had d famous 'pussy cat' trademark'. I was so pissed @ her unknown parents.

It is pure wickedness.
It is not wickedness because the parents are doing it with good intentions, its just that they are ignorant. If parents do it because they want to punish the child, it then becomes wickedness and that is not the case in 100% of the cases.

@RedHotChic: Where; only in the bush of Maryland. Down south!
Go to Big Cities: DC, because it is the seat of Power, you will find places where to acquire at least, "the English text of what a writer takes as the meaning of "Arabic Qur'aan." I have been inviting you to the Big City, the Big Apple, The glitz, The Neon Lights, The Big Broad Boulevard of Broadway, and am sure you can handle it "BUS LADI; lol." No wonder you don't know the difference between AlQur'aan and " "Bible." There are no similarities in them. If you see any convergence, it is only in characters alone. Read the story of Yusuf, in English text and then read it in your Bible! Its like the "deviant woman" compared to the woman still in Orile Kingdom, in Osun State. The osun woman is authentic, still. While the deviant woman in Maryland is "Fake!" She oti yee e?
This invitation to NY from you is very suspicious to me because you sound more like a Hot polygamist looking towards his next conquest. Religion is your new weapon now.
And you wear all the Confetti's of Dominetrix to Church? Invite me. I want to have a good laugh.
My boo will wrench your neck.

Yea girl. Jesus is a pure and first class "slave Servant" of the highest order! You can only have one Master of Creation. And Jesus (AS) aint HIM. Even your Bible makes it clear, while it still manages to convolute it, later in other parts: Jesus begged, prayed, cried out to a Higher Authority, WHICH IS GOD, ALLAH.
Let me understand this very well, Are you a slave to Allah?

Jesus was a messiah of the Children of israel, only temporarily, because he was the last of the "Tribal Prophets," and this messiahship ended up, until the advent of the Prophethood of Muhammad (AS), to all mankind. The Israelites are part of this race of mankind. No tribe of people is outside it. There is no reason for Muhammad to be named " Massiah" because it is now a NON-ISSUE.
Could it be because he was not a messiah?

Maybe, you Funmi, is still living in that confusion of on one hand calling "Mary, "VIRGIN,"", while on the other hand you claim that he had a husband, "Joseph" who slept with her and got her pregnant twice to deliver the "brothers of Jesus!" If you continue to call this woman "VIrgin," and by your own admission state that she delivered other Babies because of man, Joseph, sleeping with her, then, we see a clear opposing views in play in your mind. We can see it. But because of your unbelieving heart, you can not.

The above is the exact same thing about your hard nosed view of Jesus about being the "Messiah!" In truth, he could not be messiah more than the temporary period before Muhammad came and could not even then, at the time his Messiahship was in play more than outside the "tribes and nations of the people known as the Children of Israel!" I remember that Jesus declared his message is only to the House of israel. Omo Yoruba, nibo niwo ti je Omo Isireli? Ojoro iwo omode yi, o po ju!
Once again, is mohammed your messiah? Of what use is his coming unto you? Explain it to me in lay mans terms pleeeeeeeze.

Whats inferiority complex? Is truth inferioriy, now? When you read your Bible again and you get to where they did "death test," by spear to the side, you will know that blood flows out like drainage water! Like when you open the flood gates, it shot out. Then tell me if there is "Rigo Mortis!" And if you can't conclusively say that, the blood stopped flowing in his veins, then know that you can not conclusively say that he died. For when a person dies, the blood thickens, it does not flow as it used to be when the person was not alive and not dead.

Or can you? Step on the foot of your "demented clients" and if the skin breaks, you will see if the blood will not flow! lol. And when you whip them, and their skin bereaks, you don't see blood? Duuh. You are a bad dominitrix. You need to learn that job terrible job, well. I am not encouraging you. In a way am trying to discourage you. Maybe my style is unorthodox, but it may work.
You are confusing the natural with the supernatural and that is your greatest weakness. Rigor mortis, DNA etc operate in the natural and not the supernatural realm.

Again, Did Jesus not rise Lazarus from death? What happened to rigor mortis then?

His creator, Allah lifted him up not allowing him to face a shameful death. Yes he is slave and messenger of Allah sent to the house of Israel.
How and when did Jesus become a slave? Slave to who? huh

Ok. So its not compulsory to be a christian even if one believe in Jesus? Do you as a christian believe that a non christian that believes that Jesus exists would gain paradise?
Your belief in the deity of Christ and his ability to save automatically makes you a christian. Accepting Jesus as your personal lord and savior automatically qualifies you for heaven.

Since you are followers of christ. Did Jesus bring a religion called christianity and did he ever hear the word 'christian'? Since Jesus couldnt have possibly be a christian from your statement up, did he came with something different from those before him?
Yes, he came with the new covenant. Before Him, sacrifices and burnt offerings were offered unto God for the repose of our sins but when Jesus came, He broke the covenant, destroyed the power of death and sin over mankind.

Most christians I ask for the person that said the above statement didnt get. They told me that it was Jesus, not knowing that it was said by John. He said the above so that you may believe him. Do this little research, go through the NT and would never see it anywhere where other gospellers use the word' the only begotten son' but it is this John that used it even in the epistles of John.
The synoptic gospels are 4 and they basically say the same thing in different terms. Although some offer a little more information than others.

Is Jesus really the only begotten son?
Yes, Jesus is the only begotten son.

I have treated it before. He happened to be the light of the world when he is still alive but when he dies, another light takes over and thats how prophets and messengers have been operating.
Who is your current islamic prophet now and tell me how He/she is the light?

In what way was he your God? Who did he shout to on the cross?
1) Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”

2) John 10:30-33: “‘I and the Father are one.’ Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’ ‘We are not stoning you for any of these,’ replied the Jews, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’”

3) Colossians 1:15-16; 2:9: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. . . . For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. . .”

4)Matthew 28:16-17: “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.”

5)Matthew 2:11: “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him.”

Thats one thing I got to know from you christians. If a christian preaches or discuss with Muslims, you would say he/she is evangelising and preaching the word of God but if comes tries that, you give them different names. In what way did I hate?
Evangelism is different from obscure interest in christianity. The dangerous part of what you guys are doing is that you are trying to define Christ from the Quranic point of view. That will only give you a limited if not false knowledge about Christ because that was what it was programmed to do. to cause confusion among potential faithfuls that saw the real light in Jesus. Jesus is lord and may He redeem you from darkness.
Christianity EtcRe: Speaking In Tongues by RedHotChic(op): 7:52pm On Nov 24, 2008
there is a false speaking in tongues. Can anyone understand her or interpret what she says. Simply opening ones mouth and screaming shamahnahdshsjaks, does not mean they speak in tongues.
I've never seen anybody interpreting what another is speaking when it comes to strange tongues. I think it's a private thing and musn't be interpreted for it to be real. Again, why should she be speaking false tongues when she is praying in private? She cant be fooling herself, can she?

As for her sinning, where sins abounds grace abounds the more. Make sure you do not judge her. God uses sinners.
So its allowed because grace will abound the more? huh

Painful truth.

At the risk of being tagged a tribalist, I would like to submit, without mincing words, that the North controls every non-productive, non-competive, non-valuing adding sector of our economy. Every sector that takes more than it gives, that encourages every character at the expense of right qualification, that values the few over the many, that manipulates and extorts and supports corruption is controlled by the North.

Sorry if I am being politically incorrect. Am not saying the other areas are better, but this just the obvious truth

Osun bans facial marks for children
Tunde Oyekola, Osogbo
Monday, November 24, 2008

Osun State government has banned people in the state from giving facial mark or tattoo to their children. The new law, which was contained in the Child’s Rights Law signed by the state governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, imposed a fine of N5,000 or a jail term of one month or both for anyone who contravened the law.

According to Section 24 of the law, “No person shall tattoo or make a skin mark or cause any tattoo or skin mark to be made on a child,” while Section 24 (2) said “A person who tattoos or makes a skin mark on a child commits an offence under this law and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding N5,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or to both such fine and imprisonment.

The law which also stipulated that a child had right to parental care compelled parents to get full immunisation against diseases for their children.

It said “any parent, guardian or person who fails in his or her duty to provide immunisation for the child commits an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding N5,000 as a first offender and a second or any subsequent offence, whether in respect of that child or any other child, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month.”

The law also protected children from being subjected to forced or exploitative labour or being employed as a domestic help outside his home.
