Job Summary:
The Design Associate will be responsible for create on-trend designs consistent with the company’s brand strategy, developing new ideas through competitive shopping, trend research, and design recommendations; creating sketches; and working in a collaborative environment with tailors, beaders, office staff, our suppliers and partners.

Qualifications
• HND/BA qualification in Fashion Design or any related field.
• Or Verifiable Training or Internship with a reputable Fashion house is acceptable provided the candidate has at least an OND in any course.
• Or Minimum 1 year training/internship as a designer is also acceptable, provided this is supported by minimum HND or equivalent in fashion design.

Key Responsibilities
• Help customers select styles, match fabrics and colours and arrange pick up dates.

• Ensure customers are attended to promptly and efficiently and liaise with customers on the progress with their clothes.
• Track the work of the tailors and beaders to ensure clothes are completed to an excellent standard and within deadlines.
• Provide excellent assistance to Proprietress on daily activities and client relations
• Support the Proprietress in serving customers to an excellent standard.
• Prepare invoices, issue receipts and take POS and cash payments and chase payments on behalf of the office accountant.

Additional Skills
• A strong fashion and creative sense, is visionary and has a robust passion for fashion.
• Excellent design and sketching skills for technical drawings and freeform renderings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer care skills and ability to calm irate customers.
• Has good skills in color coordination, fabric identification and visual symmetry
• Has knowledge of pattern making, sewing and textile materials.
• Enjoys working in a fast paced work environment, is driven and able to use initiative
• Enjoys teamwork and can supervise, guide, involve and inspire a team of tailors and other fashion support staff.
