stickncarrot: You may need to confirm your figures. Lagos sea port is 7-9m dept while that of Akwa-ibom is 17-18m dept without dredge.

Nigeria isn't one that's why we are not utilizing other ports. Look at how congested Lagos state is. Lagos sea port is 13m stop guessing |

lekzyn: All private schools in Ekiti state today are on compulsory holiday to agigate against the state government's new policy whereby all private schools have to pay #1000 per student in a term, that is a school with 200 pupils will pay #200000 in a term despite the normal taxes been paid to the state government and local government. All private school proprietors are to meet with Mr Governor today at Ado-Ekiti to state there mind on the newly introduce policy. why are they on strike. Its simple logic just add 1k to school fees of children Also that's what you get when u elect a periodic tout as governor of the state |

We should be able to switch discos like our phone network. That way, they would market and pit pressure to get bulk electricity. Just imagine if mtn had sole right to the west etc. There would be no incentive to perform. Same with this power disco. Create an atmosphere of choice and problem solved. should disco be involved at all what if all the disco are saboteurs in its real terms. The owners of all did discos are same people that sabotage the economy. If all disco conspire and go on strike. Its doom for us |

And such an explosion that couldn't destroy the fridge that caused it will now iinjure four people outside the building
Chai there is God oooh what type of injury did they suffered from, was it burnt injury, or other physical injury caused by panicking and vibration of the ground which may caused the roof of the building to fall on the victims. Or from sound shock. Because there wasn't any fatal injury only to the six month old baby in which u know the cause. |
Politics › Re: Why Power Supply Improved Under Buhari, By Nebo by redsconsult(m): 8:13am On Oct 12, 2015 |
Barcholder: The reason that there's no increase in supply regardless of the amount of generation, is the constraint in Transmission. The transmission lines can only harness 5,000MW, so that's where the real bottleneck lies. If we suddenly increased generation to 100,000MW, it would make no difference as TCN (Transmission Company of Nigeria) cannot handle or harness the power. Until that problem is resolved, people will be waiting another 50 years for stable power supply.
Regards
Uvie when they were transmitting at 3500 mega watts to 4000megawatts during the first 100 days we were witnessing close to 18hrs power in our homes. What happen to that. And now that we are transmitting at peak of 4750 megawatts we can hardly get 8hrs in a day. |

stanech: All this explano is not making sense bro Oga I have not seen a refridgerator explosion b4 but a simple knowledge that a device as fragile as a fridge will not cause that kind of explosion without the device itself being shredded to pieces its possible cause the conderser burst might not result in flames which may not have destroy the refregirator rather change its position. Or destroy the bottle contents in the refrigerator due to the vibration of the rippled effect. |

stanech: Mr goat this is not about wanting bomb to go off but about telling the people the truth all the time.
How do u explain a fridge causing an explosion but the fridge still not destroed. Don't let sentiment cloud ur judgment it was a bomb blast definitely then how can a bomb go off without flames accompany it and also without massive destruction of properties including the refrigerator. The destruction was as a result of sound and vibration it causes which can be attributed to refregirating set. Pls stop this misinformation its close to my area and environment. I heard the shock and sound miles away from the place. But no flame came up. That's more reason there was no death and even a six months old baby survive the effect. Do you know how many houses and people will die in such densely populated area like oworonshoki if it were to be bomb. Do you think its like part in ur eastern or northern part where houses are kilometer apart. |

Politics › Re: Why Power Supply Improved Under Buhari, By Nebo by redsconsult(m): 7:07am On Oct 12, 2015 |
The improvement in power sector was a mirage.. Am a staunch supporter of buhari but truth be told after 100days in service power supply have dropped immensely. The saboteurs have found another method to sabotage the power to enable end users to continue to buy more fuel to power household generators and also to purchase generators. Where they make huge revenue.
Until this government ban the generator importation and its use in public domain, we can not Ve stable power supply. Until nebo and govt brings the saboteurs to justice cause it will be very wrong to tell us that they don't know them.
Nebo and his group collects kickback from this saboteurs. Nigeria present capacity can accommodate 10000 megawatts of electricity. The gas station are doing their best we keep hearing increase in generation of power but with no relative increase in supply. |

as a graduate in transport management and maritime communication...
1. Government shld discourage the use of road transportation by passing new laws like odd number plates vs new number plates, 2. government shld invest more in water transport by providing more ferry services that will link more routes in the state 3. complete the ongoing light rail system across the state 4. equip the enforcement officers like lastma, kai etc to ensure adequate compliance
the maritime transport should be designed in a way that will ensure safety of life at sea. |

Approve 11m dollars at a rate of 160 naira to a dollar. Means the 13500 pilgrims will have to purchase dollars at 160 naira to a dollar and the maximum each one could buy has been stipulated there. Reading and digesting is the problem of nairaland. There is noting bad in government supporting his pilgrimage. Also its been approve by CBN because of the new foreign exchange policy which stipulates that dollar can be purchased through CBN now. |

alaoeri: Many are educated but few are learned, many have been blindfolded by ethno/tribal hate. PH shoresshores ( continental shelf ) is steep & not deep unlike Lagos shores. Lagos shores has natural harbour which prevent ships from wreckage. PH port require regular dredging to enable ships to sail to the shores & construction of artificial harbours to prevent sea waves from wrecking ships. These two factors are capital intensive. The late Yar'dua tried to dredge the lower Niger but no meaningful result despite spending huge amount. you are on point |

new2020: Lagos port depth has absolutely nothing to do with this. This is a well orchestrated and engineered blockade. IF THEY CAN BUILD A CITY AS ABUJA SOLELY FROM THE PROCEEDS OF OIL, THEY COULD HAVE DREDGED PORT HARCOURT 30 YRS AGO. There is a lot of injustice in this country that has reach CRITICAL MASS...beyond resolution. dept of sea ports matters. It determines type of cargo that can berth at the seaport. If u know the amount and resources needed to dredge a meter depth of 1 nautical miles you will be able to understand what it will take to dredge a longer distance to the gulf of guinea and also to a certain depth of 15m from 7m. |

Lagos sea port has more depth or draught of like 13m which is the deepest of all seaports presently in the country which can contain larger ships and cargoes compare to pH. If the pH port needs to be fully utilize there most be crios dredging of nothing more than 12 to 15m dept from its present 7m dept or there about. More investment need to channel in that region to ease the congestion at lagos port and to save life and properties on our roads |
