Phones / Re: HTC One X & XL Owners Thread Roms,Updates, Apps & More! by Reelsteel: 3:07pm On Mar 01, 2013
Infoseye:

Welcome to my thread for HTC one X & HTC One XL, Yea Venom is the BEST Rom out there! I have used it and I cant stop loving my HTC One X everyday. I have been a fan of Apple products for years and decided to give android a try and seriously my iphone 4 feels like a heavy brick in my hand. Great device! Wonderful experience and user friendly not to talk about the specs damn!

Okay man get your HTC repaired and flash Viper Rom and join my dream grin in the mean time educate yourself about rooting, flashing of roms etc @ onexroot.com

Im really overwhelmed to see people who love htc products as much as i do. I can campaign for the company free of charge.I have succesfully converted two of my friends to strong htc lovers. This company makes very very brilliant phones, from the built to there htc sense customization which is very simple, easy to use and beats samsung touchwiz.
I got my htc one x tegra 3 two months after it launched, that around may last year after i sold my HD7. i have loved every moment of it.

I have my phone rooted, and bootloader unlocked with cwm, im running the custom Rom "Android revolution Hd 18.1 by mike1986" on it which look exactly like the stock rom.
IS venom Really the best Rom out there and what are the main features.

AbuHanifa: Let us start from establishing a national database that will have server across the states and local government. Let us start from there. The current situation of Nigeria is like a University that doesnt have students' academic record neither does it give matric no (National ID).

Thanks...Abuhanifa

This is what i have been crying for, Nigeria is an institution with no records.
If we want to fight corruption, crime, and insecurity, every living soul in this country has to be properly identified by a national I.D and number created on a database.
The I.D will be used to access your personal data on a database which includes, Date of Birth, Sex, Eye color, hair color, Dna sample, finger prints, family background and address. Information can only be added to a file on such database but not deleted or modified.
I dont know if this is can be obtainable in this generation but if implemented now and such I.D is created for every new born baby from this year then its a step in the right direction

Kennedyiheme: Pls Im Not Saying Education Is Bad... But GOD gave u talent so u can live with it and yse it for ur finance.......remember phd holders and grauduate applied for being truck drivers for dangote, please explain why someone dat has phd should be a driver

Guy what is wrong with you? Is it news that things are upside down in this country?
We are talking about talent and education in the world not in Nigeria.
Bear in mind that education is not only when you get a degree from a university,a fisherman who has being fishing with his father from age 7
is considered educated in fishing to an extent. He probably will be able to feed his family and sell some at the market.
But mechanized farming would see that business go national and even international and that is where education comes in.

Kennedyiheme: Coputa U Are Indeed A Wise Person, Dat Guy Is Talkin About Okonjo Iweala, Im Sure He Was One Of Pple Who Complain When She Did Nonsense. Guy Politicians Dnt Makew Any Impact, They Jst Bring Pain Nd Misery To Nigerians. Besides Can You Become A Farmer?

Op i assume you are educated and understand what a metaphor means.
He was simply trying to give you an example of a successful educated person not necessarily a political figure hence trying to trigger another argument.
Talents can't survive without education and education itself would never exist without talents, its very very simple.
Talent invents and creates while education modifies and sustain.
Even the talented with their success seek professional advise, professional enhancement and of course professional investment of there finances, which are all products of education.

Car Talk / Re: Thread For Toyota Users And Lovers by Reelsteel: 3:30pm On Jan 28, 2013
mykalls: I bought this toyota 2001 camry model through nairaland autos. Its being great for the past 2 years. Last month i decided to change the shocks and the break pad. After i did this my car no longer runs smoothly. The car behaves as if the front tyres have a problem. If i climb a bump i will hear a loud thud, as if the shock is hitting the car. It is really frustrating. Please i will want someone to help me out in this forum.

Go and check your linkage or stabilizer rod bushings, Ball joints, and tie rods and tie rod endings.
That model of camry always has problems with these and they make a lot of noise when any of them get bad.
They are quite cheap if you are buying new parts. Tie rod and tie rods ends is about 2k for the Pair, ball joints is about 1500 for the pair and linkage is also 1500 for the pair. Bear in mind that these parts are all sub standard parts that fill the market these days so as a result once you start changing them, be sure to do that every 6 months at most.

Bro have you seen the 2013 Avalon?
That vehicle is legendary!!!!

chiover: Sale off ur toyota and join me in honda world if really u wana enjoy ur wealth

Dude no doubt Honda really knows how to design a car, both interior, exterior and suspension splendid, but
when it comes to durability they do fall short.
Toyota have more durable components,Engine, gear, steering rack and dynamics.
I have been using my 1998 camry, A.k.a tiny light since 2007, Bought it with a 170k mileage and now has 205k.
Changed my gearbox 2008,a year after i got it quite cheap 33k compare to 1998 honda accord which was 80k and 120k for the v6 version.
i Also changed my steering pump 2010, quite cheap again 6k.
The vehicle runs very fine, and smooth.
I change my oil at 5k miles and reset the trip meter to zero each time i change oil, i also do a routine 6 months check on my suspension,
Toyota cars are notorious for suspension noises arising from worn out bushings. Lower arm bushings,Ball joints and Linkage.
Sub-standard Parts is another problem we face in car maintenance.

Politics / Re: Realistic Options For Opposition Presidency In 2015? by Reelsteel: 12:39pm On Jan 21, 2013
Minex007: It is really nice to see the youth engaging themselves in politics and political discussion. What i noticed about your discussion is there still sentimentalism and tribalism.
Yes,Maybe Buhari should go so dat we can bring in sum elite, intelligent, young and dynamic leaders like fashola,El Rufai,Rochas for the change we need.
One thing i know is that there is no man that can face Buhari in the north,I said there is No man that has popularity in the north like Buhari.
There is no other option in the south west like Fashola.
The northerners are facing what we call in politics "Government Shift",The north are no more benefitting from this present administration and they are witnessing hell.
Can anyone tell me if there is any person that make them forget what happened in GEJ Administration with all the killings, political assasinations, insecurity, loss of innocent lives and with the recent attacks on the traditional rulers. The north is doomed and they will do anything for a change of government.Boko Haram is politics in different forms.

My suggestions is for El Rufa'i/Fashola Ticket.Let Buhari and Tinubu be the Political God Fathers while they concentrate on south east south south region ,let them push for the change.

You see this is why Nigerians will decide to let GEJ remain in Office 2015.
Comments like this "The northerners are facing what we call in politics "Government Shift",The north are no more benefitting from this present administration and they are witnessing hell" makes me wonder.
Nigerian is for everybody who cares what the north is experience, GEJ has failed everybody including his own SS. We need to kick him out of office but making it about the north and comments like this does not reflect the change we need.
Come to think of it some parts of the country have never held this power for once so what is this rant about the north.
People seem to miss the point of this thread, People suggest Buhari/fashola because its a pair deemed possible to sit unseat GEj come 2015.
Yes buhari might be to old with a lot of bigotry and Fashola might be still have tinubu's weight on his shoulders but i think they will make a fierce competition.

Wadeoye: Buhari/Oshiomole. I dont see making an igbo man vp adding any value to the dream of evolving an alternative platform, otherwise, someone like ngige would have been a good vp candidate.

You are just an Idiot this is the number one problem in this country, tribal sentiment.
The question has nothing to do with tribe but qualification, vision and a mission to save our dear country from want it has become but the first word out of your mouth is tribe Really??

NYSC / Re: NYSC Threatens To Report Schools With Deficient Graduates by Reelsteel: 12:47pm On Jan 19, 2013

you are so right!
This is just a case of a failed educational system so i think the blame should be shared among the Ministry of education, Examinatory bodies, Primary and Secondary education, and Parents.
NYSC / Re: NYSC Threatens To Report Schools With Deficient Graduates by Reelsteel: 12:12pm On Jan 19, 2013
pro01:

What is your point? In Nigeria, the official language is English, which means that EVERY graduate - regardless of how "productive" he or she purports to be - is expected to be fluent in the language. Is that not why English is a COMPULSORY subject for ALL courses in tertiary institutions?

Having gone through primary, secondary, and tertiary education, what excuse does one have not to be fluent in the language in which he or she acquired all their education? This also applies to the Chinese people you alluded to. They don't need to speak English to be productive because they are did not learn their productivity in English. It's as simple as that.

How do I ascertain your "productivity" when you cannot even communicate effectively in YOUR own language? Yes, English is our language, NOT a "foreign tongue". I'm sure no one in Nigeria receives formal education in their native language.

If you're a "productive" engineer, how did you read and assimilate the engineering textbooks (written in English) in school? How did you pass your exams? How do you study manuals?

Let's stop making excuses for dullards abeg!

You said it all. Also, people are quick to condemn tertiary institutions forgetting that such people were never supposed to make it through primary education, JSCE at must.
This is just a case of a failed educational system so i think the blame should be shared among the Ministry of education, Examinatory bodies, Primary and Secondary education, and Parents.
Parents have responsibility of accessing the child's performance in school and at home. I can remember my father making my siblings and i write essays on how we spent all our holidays all through secondary school days.

I don't know where you're from but where I'm from and Igbo side(from what I've seen) it has always been the mother in-law ( husband's side) that comes to stay for a while, ofcourse the wife's mom can drop in whenever too.

as the matter of fact the wife's mom will excuse her cos that's the way it is..... cultural thing I guess and it feels right too

But but with the way things are turning around lately esp reading from NL lately , things might have changed now , power struggles everywhere no be small thing.

And like I mentioned earlier everybody can join the party too I really don't care and there's nothing like family .

How long..... for me I'll take 1year grin

I want to assume you are not Igbo or you were adopted.
Everybody knows that its igbo culture for the wife's mother to come for "Omugwo"
