hello everyone, please this is my 2nd of applying for a study permit. I applied on the 16th of oct,I was called for medicals 3weeks after and since then it kept saying application is bin processed in accra.it is over 8weeks already and I'm to resume on the 11th of January.I hope there is nothing to worry about ?

I had just confirmed from FBN that banks no longer sell PTA.
How else can I send my little cousin money for accomodation and feeding that wouldn't tell so much on my pockets as per charges? He'll be leaving for Canada on 27th.

GOD is miraculous. Am sharing my story to encourage us and believe that GOD has a plan for us all.

I applied online on May 8th 2015 but was denied on July 8th 2015. Reasons ticked were purpose of visit, personal asset and financial status. I was depressed but I still prayed to GOD that may his will be done. I was introduced to a PFL agent who later reviewed my app and brought out some flaws. eg. I filled the TRV form for visiting, the agent also made a statement that there was no interrelation between my sponsor and I. Although I am self funded.

I reapplied on September 16th,see below.
Reapplied paper route- sept 16th 2015
medical call- oct 5th 2015
medical done- oct 6th 2015
approval mail on - oct 26th
Passport dispatch mail on- Nov 5th
TRV pickup- 15 Nov 2015.

All praise to GOD for this miracle. I did police report, I had a letter from my mum saying she knows am travelling and that my aunty will support me, and all funds will be in my account, filled study questionnaire, readjusted my SOP to have Nigerian ties and other strategies.

All praise be to GOD, it was indeed a miracle. Wishing others the best and handsome TRV.

you won't have two. The old one will be 'canceled without prejudice'. Make sure you have both passports at the POE.
You can use a passport cover or rubber band like me

However, there was someone who renewed her passport before leaving Nigeria I.e after she already got her trv. That way her study permit was issued for he duration of her program since she had a new passport.
All she will have to do is get a new trv at her convenience.

Yes you'd renew the international passport at the Nigerian embassy at Ottawa. Between, your study permit will cover the length of your program + ayooluwatoni mentioned this 2 pages back.

you can renew your passport in Toronto Nigerian embassy , whenever it is due. but that place consist of the worst set of people you can imagine it is very frustrating if i were you ill find a way to renew in nigeria before leaving. dunno if anyone has answered your question

That's not even a problem. The study permit will be issued to cover the period of study, irrespective of the date on visa. The only issue is the person may not be able to travel outta Canada after his/her visa expires, but the study permit will still be valid and with that he/she can remain legally in Canada.

Collect your TRV and go when u get to canada u can renew ur passport and study permit. It's normal. Since ur passport is expiring soon immediately u get der start asking questions on how to go about it or check google
