The US had air assets form a protective ring around IDF jets in Iraq and all we got was noise pollution.

Let me remind you of the matchup.
Israel has 600 jets. At any time only about 80% is operational.
They sent 100 jets to create a firework display. More than 20% of their entire operable fleet. They only fired from allied-operated airspace.
Hezbollah alone has 100,000 missiles.
Imagine how many Iran has in its stockpiles.
Iran would fire thousands of missiles before a squadron completes a round-trip.

Guys, drop it.
The balance of power in the ME has changed.
A million NYT articles will not change the stark reality.
Iran is a cut above Israel in the global military pecking order.

I'm not concerned about a response anymore. Israel is officially now a non-factor.
Iran has established deterrence and a new regional paradigm where they are the top dog.
It doesn't mean Israel wouldn't try to f*ck around any more. But it does mean that there is an expectation around the planet from Washington to Moscow that if Iran is provoked, "x" number of missiles will wallop Israel.
The equation is clear to even the blind.

What I want to see is a post-mortem.
What was the "limited damage"?
What was the interception rate of Iranian homegrown AD systems?
Under what circumstances did they sustain casualties? Were they in Iran or advance parties in Iraq and Syria.

I think Iran should use its newfound leverage to tie their response to a ceasefire.

It's massive disappointment all through.

For years they've sold the myth of their invincibility to the citizens. They're so gullible they don't think there's any country on earth Israel can't "bomb to stone age".

They're planning to end the war in South Lebanon owing to huge daily loses and increasing cases of mutiny in the IDF.

In Gaza, the IDF is in a quagmire.
