Politics / Re: Don’t Get Bugged Down By Nigeria, Just Plan Your Exit. by remedick: 8:09am On Mar 23, 2018 |
resurgentxtian4:Igbos are generally stubborn. You have to accept that fact. They don't forgive when they feel betrayed, you also have to accept that. Their cry might seem like they hate others but trust me, if you make Nigerian better by 50% today, all those cry will end. All they care about is progress. Not the presidential post. They are angry because they feel something is holding their progress. They are all over Nigeria because they are very adventurous in a nature. All they care about is success and success but when it seems like some persons are hindering their success, what else do you expect them to do? An average Igbo wants to prosper against all odds... but see the situation in Nigeria, just look at things. we keep getting worse... They may sound bitter, they may sound hateful, they may sound angry but inside that bitterness, anger, hatefulness and so on lies a heart that wants to see Nigeria progress. They angry because each time they propose a way forward, it is always the Yorubas that come with one tactics to weaken them. The Yorubas are smart but I don't feel they are using that smartness wisely. We have to accept that the problem is not any part of the South, the earlier we accept this fact, the better for the country. The problem is the North! But I am sure the Yorubas will never work with other group of the South. Let's forget that Igbos have always been at loggerhead with the Yorubas, what effort have they made to make sure that South South works with them harmoniously? I have never seen that? The Igbo man's approach often appear hash and crude when they propose it but looking at it empirically, you see that it is a long term benefit for all. Tell me one thing that they have proposed, either break up or restructuring, though hard, that isn't better than what we are currently facing? How I also wish that the Niger Deltans will just put a complete stop to ALL oil production in the country UNTIL we renegotiate the terms of our collective existence as a country. Whether we accept this or Not, the South still holds the power to turn this country around... my worry is that the Yorubas willl ALWAYS be the loophole which the North uses to undermine the South and the rest of the country at large. the question is , who will bell the cat? I was forced to start looking for prices of houses sold in Ghana yesterday. I personally do not like the idea of leaving Nigeria and travel out to a white man's country. I am hustler like any igbo man should be, even though I am currently having some set backs, but I know God will prevail. I think I will rather move my family, when it is time, to Ghana and operate my business, which is still in nascent stage in Nigeria. This is will even give me an opportunity to sell my products/services to both Nigerians and Ghanaians, after all, my maternal grand mother was a Ghanian who came to Nigeria. 2 Likes |

So what do you have to say about the North dragging the rest of country back? Do we fold our hands and watch them make life miserable? do you realise these people are POVERTY themselves and they are trying to spread their POVERTY to other part of the country? more than half of them have never tasted a good life nor know what it looks like. 3 Likes |
Politics / Bokoharam, The North , Nigeria And The Future... by remedick: 5:37pm On Mar 22, 2018 |
Several weeks ago, I asked the North what are their achievements for Nigeria on international space that is helping to bring glory to her. I gave 20 slots but unfortunately, aside from Dangote... and one Mr Aliyu, the remaining slots could barely be filled. See here: https://www.nairaland.com/4361516/northerners-what-international-achievements-nigeria The North has ruled this country MORE than the South, yet we can HARDLY boast of any progress as a country. We have the herdsmen killing people all over but the president did nothing and the Bokoharam, captors of Dapchi Girls, gallantly and freely returned them with no attack, no arrest... and were being hailed by all those illiterates I saw in the pictures/videos, even the capture girls, I am sure they can't write 1 simple sentence in English. Today, I do not have much strength to talk because apparently, this country will never progress. The North is everything backward that you can ever imagine in the 21st century. A Southerner gave me mobile phone and internet and I know how that has affected me and millions of Nigerians, both financially and otherwise. It was with this internet I used to track down a son that had not been seen in 27 years since he left the shores of Nigeria and with the information given to me by his mother, now late, I was able to track him down and he came to Nigeria for the first time after linking up to him. Can any Northern president past or present boast of such milestone that has effectively and positively changed life, financially and otherwise, I mean one that could be felt by everybody in Nigeria in millions? My spirit broke and I lost the last shred of hope on seeing that people with unused brains could be hailing a sect that has been killing them and even captured their women. You can continue to support Buhari if you want and he is very free continue to be president, and then another Northerner can take over from him after that, then hand over to the next Northerner up to their great grand children. You are free. It is now clear that this Bokoharam is political machine installed to siphon funds into the hands of selected few AND buhari is one of them. For those still supporting these evil men, what country do you want to leave for your children? what? I care not about those in core North, they are used to poverty and they do not deserve any better. You can't take a jungle out an animal. I see some of them around , parked like sardines in a shop that has no light, no fan, no cemented floor. It is just them and their food commodities that is sold. They do not WANT/NEED better life, better education, better health care, better prospect... IF what happened with this Dapchi girls release does not move you, seeing the enemies of the country walking freely, being backed by the North, then I can conclude that you have no soul! Leave this country if you can.. there is no hope like resurgentxtian4 said in his thread. Oh, I get it, Niger Delta oil is what is propelling all these right? Just wait until the whole oil companies are asked to leave Niger Delta and no more production of oil. I believe by then una head go correct... Nonsense! 1 Like 1 Share |

0monnak0da: Their matter tire me bro. Being a SE'er myself, I find it disgusting why these guys who rant on Nairaland about being marginalized find it HARD to at least blame the SE leaders for not doing their job... Everybody is fighting for their own share and you don't expect SW leaders to leave their people's development and well-being to come and do the job that SE leaders should do... Why do they always blame everyone else but their own leaders? They can HARDLY discuss without weaving biafra or past events into it as we have clearly seen on this thread. I mean this thread has no link to Biafra but some cesspit breeds find it convenient to bring that into discourse... So what is the job of SE senators and reps? What are they doing? It was on Nairaland last year that I read a none south east leader at the senate was the one who voiced out about the exclusion of SE zone for the railway line... I mean what were the igbo leaders doing at that time? PRETTY SICK SHIITS! 3 Likes |

phantom: How will "major seaport in the SS/SE wil industrialize this country faster than you think" ? Is that possible without constant power supply? Me think industrialization is heavily hinge on electricity and nothing else, so can a sea port industrialize Nigeria in the absence of power supply in constant flow? 1 Like |

A government offensive is also under way in the Eastern Ghouta, the last major rebel enclave near Damascus and another de-escalation zone. Its 393,000 residents have been under siege since 2013. They have come under intense bombardment and are facing severe shortages food and medical supplies. Rebel factions also control territory in the northern province of Aleppo, central province of Homs, and in the southern provinces of Deraa and Quneitra. What is left of rebel territory? The government has regained control of Syria's biggest cities. But large parts of the country are still held by rebel groups. The largest opposition stronghold is the north-western province of Idlib. It is home to more than 2.65 million people, including 1.2 million who have fled or been evacuated from other former rebel-held areas. Despite being designated one of the de-escalation zones, Idlib itself is now the target of a major ground offensive by the government. It says it is targeting Hayat Tahrir al-Sham jihadists there. 1 Like |

Western powers say Russia has also sought to undermine the talks and ensure the survival of its ally by setting up a parallel political process. In January, a "Congress of National Dialogue" was held in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi. But representatives of most opposition political and armed groups refused to attend. The conference was the result of talks between Russia, Iran and Turkey held in Astana. The powers also agreed in May 2017 to establish four "de-escalation zones" covering major rebel-held areas. There was a reduction in the bloodshed initially, but in late 2017 the government began assaults on two of the zones. |
