in full deregulation, govt wont fix or suggest price, you bring in and sell at a price you like, every commodity has a price, if they gang up beyond people's ability to pay no one will buy or sale will be below overhead cost. there is government too, multinationals too are here to make money not to suffer people the price will crash to normal level naturally, but what the govt is doing now is legitimatizing black market rate through back door. this will give those who have official forex excess profit just to protect those who will source from black market. Naira will fall further.

With low inflow, how can we continue uncontrolled subsidy? GEJ should have stuck his gun in 2012 by removing the subsidy and he would have had 3 years to prove he was right. PMB is also making mistake of just price increase to meet forex market forces instead of full deregulation.
