English language is our lingua franca....
once you claim to be Educated you should speak proper English.
it's not colonial mentality. understanding is not same as pronunciation influenced by native languages, you agree with me that PMB doesn't make grammatical errors. From location to location pronounciation divers. We all speak English but there is distinct pronounciation between Scots. Indonesian, Indian, Ghanaian, etc. Even in Nigeria, you can know where people come from from their pronounciations. For me, as long as you don't make grammatical errors, pronounciation is personality differences that can be tolerated . |

Don't compare yourselves with others because we are not running the same economy , the level of development is different from each other, the rate of poverty is deeper in nigeria than many countries you posted, the level of joblessness is high in nigeria compare to those countries you posted . Now compare this average nigerian feed on 1dollar per day? 1 dollar can you imagine that? So please don't compare us with any one. your observations are correct but how does a govt pay for difference if we don't refine and have to buy from international market at a price above N100? |

owagbeba: Can you expand on the difference between meeting forex market forces and full deregulation?
Since these fuel importers tend work as a cartel, don't you think they might gang up and form a sort of monopoly on pricing? in full deregulation, govt wont fix or suggest price, you bring in and sell at a price you like, every commodity has a price, if they gang up beyond people's ability to pay no one will buy or sale will be below overhead cost. there is government too, multinationals too are here to make money not to suffer people the price will crash to normal level naturally, but what the govt is doing now is legitimatizing black market rate through back door. this will give those who have official forex excess profit just to protect those who will source from black market. Naira will fall further. |
Business › Re: Devaluation To Push First Bank Towards BANKRUPTCY!!! by Remii(m): 7:51am On May 15, 2016 |
TippyTop: Compare to the suffering now, Dr Jonathan and his team were geniuses. Buhari is not known to be a patient listener or a good economist, yet his ministers are in awe of him. No one dare advice Bubu on the way forward, therein lies our problems. Bubu is Mr-know-it-all. its neither her nor there, GEJ solved fuel problem with uncontrolled subsidy payout, spending almost all our income on subsidy, even unbudgeted, so in a way the evil days were postponed by GEJ. With low inflow, how can we continue uncontrolled subsidy? GEJ should have stuck his gun in 2012 by removing the subsidy and he would have had 3 years to prove he was right. PMB is also making mistake of just price increase to meet forex market forces instead of full deregulation. |
Business › Re: Devaluation To Push First Bank Towards BANKRUPTCY!!! by Remii(m): 7:36am On May 15, 2016 |
TippyTop: Buhari is returning us to the stone age. This is only the beginning, the Bubu man is hell bent on destroying the achievements and giant stride we made under Dr Jonathan.
When Zombies Rule the Innocent Suffers. Giant stride indeed, the problem started before GEJ left, remember started devaluation before he left and he borrowed to pay salaries towards end of his tenure, when we discuss what affects our lives, we should be apolitical, politicians take care of themselves only, they don't care about us. PMB made the situation worse by delaying government start up and should have devalued to like N225 when he came in, now we may devalue to like N300 which will make every one poor who kept his/her fund in Naira poorer with very high inflation. |

Every region should have resource control ...they will be exposed! Right now this is difficult to account properly under One Nigeria...because figures are forged by perpetrators of One Nigeria to deceive Nigerians. continue. I agree with you, only Niger Delta can have in the whole world. It's their God's given privilege. Lol. FYI, there is oil all round Africa coast, if there is oil in Namibia, Angola up to Morocco, why will it jump Lagos from offshore ondo to Benin and Ghana.
