Good morning, I saw this link through facebook and I am quite interested.

http://www.vanier.gc.ca/en/selection_committee_guide-comite_selection_lignes.html#b3.1

It's a scholarships program for phd in Canada.
My concerns are how do I get selection from instructions located in canada.
Any advice.

Good morning. Please who has the contact details of the WAEC courier services. I sent all my documents since 11th and I got a mail from WES yesterday that they are yet to receive my transcript and Waec results. I guess tracking palava has started for me. Please kindly share the contact if you have. Thanks very much.

I also had a bigger disparity in my ages too. Infact, the age on my first certificate is different from that of my second. I grew up with my dad and the age I was using was different from the one my mom gave me when we reconciled. So I started using my new age. Basically what I did was to swear an affidavit saying some of my documents have different ages. Along with this affidavit, I will write a letter of explanation to the differences.
I think that's just what you should do as well. Then as regards wes, I faxed my certificates including my new age affidavit correction so that they won't have doubts and know what I prefer to use.
Hope the idea helps.
[Qquote author=kemtybemty post=79229806]Dear All,

Trust you are having a good day. I have been reading up a lot about the Express Entry from here and would like to seek your advice.

My husband, who is not the PA, has a mistake on his WAEC result. Instead of Feb 4, it is showing June 25 but it is the same year. We have gone to WAEC office and he was told that the possibility of it being rectified is slim because it has been over 17 years. I am confused as to proceeding with his WES evaluation and the EE profile when we create one.

What should we do?

Thank you for your help.[/quote]

Good anytime. I studied communication and media and I have been lecturing in Nigeria and about to journey to canny and without French background. Since you are interested in moving into my field, the French they speak there has its own comma so you have to familiarize yourself with it. If you have good writing skills and reading as well, With those two, go into editing and content writing.
foi59:
Good day people.

Please i have some questions on my mind to help me settle in proper on arrival in canny. I studied French language in the university and have been teaching it ever since(over 5years) but I'm considering a career change in Canada because i want something more liberal and stuff that will give me the ability to relate more with people i.e adults. Although i wouldn't using French skill as well.
I like the media i.e radio n TV (i also have some experience in it but no certification).
Please what do you advise? What kind of careers are currently in high demand? Is media OK? What about HR? I just need general advise based on the present situation in Canada.
Thanks a lot.

Have you tried the tricks exposed on this website " zero2hired" I have gradually started putting his advice into practice. Please check it out. If you haven't been able to get pass the interview stage, then there is something you are missing.
Winterpeg:
I believe many factors go into choosing what career path to take or what courses to do. Generally speaking some people get luckier than others and get good jobs without having to go through much trouble or taking any courses. Your career path and what you already have will determine what program to do.
From my own personal experience, I have been able to land a few interviews along my career line but I have not been lucky enough to go past the interview stage. So in order to break the barrier I decided to apply for a MSc program despite the fact I already have MSc from Nigeria and I tried but could not get Phd admission.
I also believe that if I can try to work hard and get good grades, I will definitely hit the sweet spot in my chosen career. So weigh your options, know what you want, look at what you already have, what part of Canada you are going to and make your decision.

My fellow nairalanders. I appreciate your help so far despite the fact that I haven't really gone too far. I am just at the ECA stage and registered for ielts next month. It's with a very great sadness that I might have to pull out of this canny dream. Really sad for me. hubby has seriously been reluctant. Says he loves his Naija and God has not instructed him to leave Nigeria and until he receives his heavenly dream from God, he is not going anywhere. He actually said if I want to go badly, I should. But here's the problem, with 3 kids ages 5 3, and 1.5 years old. How do I cope with daycare, job search, mobility, picking up from schools, groceries, and upkeep alone in Canada. To worsen it, he isn't supporting financially. I even offered and begged to have him sit for ielts and his eca with my monthly pay he reluctantly said yes but I thought, one can only force a horse to the river but not to drink. Without his help how will I survive with 3 beautiful kids alone in Canada. He is not even batting an eye concerning the benefits. He's a speedy driver, says cars are meant for speed how will such a person cope with Canadian traffic rules. These and some little others have just weakened me especially my children and the highest I can even leave them is a week. We are that close that they have never gone to bed without my hug and kisses. I dont have any family over there to help with. Good night.

From the lesson I got from Ieltsadvantage, in your writing task, you were given a direct question to answer. First, your introduction should introduce a summary of what you are going to write in your essay. From my example something like this" There has been an increasing production of waste materials and this calls for concern. Manufacturers are trying to cut cost by producing non-degradable materials and hence, the government needs make policies to cub these manufacturers against such productions." In this type of question, Ielts advantage says you should provide a paraphrase of the question and use the first and second questions to answer in the introduction.
The first question WHY DO YOU THINK THIS IS HAPPENING- From the example I wrote- Manufacturers are trying to cut across production cost-( Just giving an introduction to what my second paragraph would be about) and the second- WHAT CAN THE GOVERNMENT DO TO HELP REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF RUBBISH PRODUCED.-My second answer- formulate policies for manufacturers.
Then paragraph two would discuss the WHY and paragraph 3 would discuss government policies and paragraph 4 would conclude.
Got from IELTSADVNTAGE. . He said there is no mark awarded for anything more than 4 paragraphs.
You NEVER discussed anything related to the first question WHY
Abti:
Please can anyone in the house assist me with an evaluation of my Task 2 essay? I hope this is not much trouble? Thank you.

QUESTION
Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish.
why do you think this is happening?
what can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?
give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
ANSWER
This days, there has been increasing production of waste products and this calls for concern. Our environment is continuously being polluted by materials that are of little use to us, and are constantly flooding the ocean, interfering with the natural habitat of other organisms who are of benefit to us. There are a lot of reasons why this has been on the rise.

Firstly, there has been an increase in the production of industrial wastes over the past few decades. Although we tend to be more civilized, our actions in terms of the production of materials we use have been damaging to our health and well-being. For Instance, plastic non-degradable materials are often being used for food and drink packaging and these products are left as refuse dumps over a long period of time, thereby polluting our waterways.

Secondly, there has been an increase in wasteful habits among consumers and manufacturers alike. We are constantly producing more than we need and consumers purchase more than they require.

In order to reduce the amount of waste being produced, government should impose laws and policies that mandates manufacturers to produce environmentally friendly materials and bio-degradable products for the consumption of all. One clear example is the production of paper bags and paper cups for the packaging of food and drinks. Such materials have been found to decompose easily within the shortest time.

In conclusion, there should be public awareness on the effects of extreme waste production, on the health of individuals and how such practice impact on other living organisms. In addition, the practice of waste reduction should be a joint effort by both government, manufacturers and the consumers alike, in order to successfully create a healthy environment for all.

Good evening guys. I got here from Google after my search.

Someone at Canada asked me to make enquiries about British Council Express entry to Canada.

Currently, I have ND from moshood abiola polytechnic.

He said the exam is about 75k and requirement for entry is international passport.

Please I need information and advise to go about British Council express entry to Canada.

Regards,
Oluwafemi.
There's no such thing as British Express Entry into Canada. What I think you are requesting information about is IELTS exams. You should probably go and read up page 1 of this thread. Best of luck.

Then how would she claim the job experience because she has to tender proof. I think she should probably try the other FST if I am correct rather than the skilled worker program. It's just my simple thought. I may be wrong but I think she should check it out on Canada's website.

Hi everyone, please I need your help to this puzzle.

I grew up with my dad who did a court declaration of age for me and I was using it until I reconciled with my Mom when I was just about to graduate for BSc. She told me the age I had been using was incorrect and gave me the correct one. After that, I went to the same court to swear another declaration of age. The only differences between these ages is a year, months and number. From August 14, 1987 to Feb 5, 1986 Now the problem is, the age on my passport and waec and bsc is the first one i have been using which my dad gave me and the one on my Msc and marriage certificate and others after my Bsc are the new age i declared in the court.

What do you advise I do about this especially with wes. I intend to write a letter of explanation to CIC concerning the differences but as for WES i dont know. I requested for my WAEC and MSc evaluation from wes and both of them have contrary ages. Moreso, I used the age on my passport as the official age for all registration concerning Canada (I renewed the old passport with this same old age and premarital name last year. I had no Canada plans then.)

Thank you very much. Your assistance would be very much appreciated.

Good morning everyone. Before I ask my question, permit me everyone to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for your sincerity and genuine render of information that sometimes cost a lot of money either directly or indirectly after one might have made a very costly mistake.
I dont want to go on because it is sometimes too long to read but I am soo happy that the next person I can depend on after God is you guys so thanks very much.
May we all get what we seek because I believe none of us on this particular platform is using magomago to get into Canada.
God will help us all in Jesus name.

My question hence. Is it possible for the University to send transcript to Wes via email. If yes that would be great.

Hi,
I would advice you visit the foundation programme office to apply in person, they would give you the necessary information and guide you would need.
Just make sure you have your Diploma II Registration Number handy.
On your WES profile, you do not need to indicate that you did the Diploma II programme, inform the foundation office to transfer your transcript to the records office, thus, it would be treated as your first year result and sent as a whole with your B.Sc transcript that covers your academic records from 200Level.
If that is the case please can I retract the first application I made to WES since I haven't paid to make another one.

Oakville19:
Sometimes it may be useful to listen to others in order not to give wrong information. The only requirement that has changed for WES is that it is mandatory to provide your WAEC/NECO details if you are assessing a Nigerian degree, it is not mandatory to assess a BSC when you have a Masters degree, ONLY your Masters will suffice. It is ADVISABLE and not MANDATORY when you have a BSC to assess another degree (acceptable by WES), which is not a masters or PHD to claim 2 or more certificates.

I know your intention is to be helpful, however let’s be careful the sort of help we render in order not to cause more harm than good.
When I made my application two weeks ago, WES said I should send my WAEC, Bsc and Msc. Not optional to exclude the BSc if i have an Msc.
Thanks anyway.

Then make further enquires as to the reason for the delay or maybe they are waiting for payment to send it via mail to the university. I think you should just contact them.

I think its not in all situations that WES requests verification from concerned universities when I read it from their site, they said they MAY request a verification at some point. I haven't heard of WES requesting for verification from Unilag. I may be wrong please. Be praying they do not request in your situation.

Eeeya. sorry about that. But you are not in a terrible situation. Calm down and just find a way to refresh your mind. The sad thing I see about all this is that you seriously have to sit down and unlearn the writing knowledge you have had before.
Start a daily writing practice. Write formal letters, do away with text writing and look at how to arrange your thoughts for writing. Read different formal letters online and gradually, your composition will increase.

Are you sure ? Bc someone told me I should evaluate my MBA only
Abajo. That is where you are making a big mistake. You should not listen to someone. Read the requirements on their website. The someone that advised you is not wrong but what he failed is to update the requirements for credential application. It changed last year, and now they have included that of WAEC and Bsc and Msc. That is for WES o. I dont know about any other ones. then I think you should simply take time to read everything word for word and sentence for sentence before making any application on any platform. you will sure save yourself from misapplying. it is when you read these instructions and you dont understand what is required of you, then you can start asking people for help on a platform such as this.

Big advice. take time to read yourself. do not wait for people to do the reading for you because they will interprete their understanding instead and not the answers you truly seek.

Am sorry, am just curious as to why you are waiting till next year. For me its like I should have been aware of this application since 2015 when it started but when its about to close 2020, am just getting to know about it. Anyway, I just believe its in Gods hands because even since then, I might not have been able to apply because of the usual struggle for survival of the Nigerian system with 3 kids. But now with monthly pay and all, I will make sure I put all the money into it and gerara Naija.
Before Naija kill me with another economic prophesies of recession, I would have long gone with my family. Fuel palava and road and school fees and everything always eating into my income thereby diminishing my productivity-am sore tired. Even till now I dont know how to do my POF but I trust God that when I get to the bridge He will sort me out because I ain't got shishi as POF.

As long as you are monitoring your mails from them, no need to worry. Hope you didn't use NIPOST, because if you did, am sorry to say you may be damned. best is to use private courier for the processing. The other delay may be due to awaiting verification from your university. Then hope you submitted all the credentials expected from you. Hello House, this question is in regards to WES and Unilag Diploma II Prog. WES requests that we send our WAEC, Bsc and Msc, or further certifcates. I did Diplama II in Unilag in those days which is now different from the Foundation prog they run. Now, WES says if we did a prog that admitted us into the second year, we should also send the transcripts.
The problem now is that on Unilag Transcript request website, there is no application for Diploma II transcript application. I even tried to apply to the Unilag Foundation if they have transferred our files there, but to no avail.
I dont know if I should go ahead with WES without expecting wahala with WES requesting verification from unilag.
I am seriously trying to cut extra costs.
Thanks.
