Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Renee25: 3:31pm On Nov 06, 2019
Hi everyone, please I have an appointment with TLS on Monday, 11th. But I just heard that day is a public holiday. I have tried to contact tls to find out if they'll work on that day but can't find any number for the abuja office and the Lagos number isnt going through. Does anyone have any idea about what happens in this situation? Do I have to amend my appointment or just attend on Monday? Thanks

Hi guys, I'm currently in the UK studying, and my husband is coming to visit. Do I have to write an invitation letter for him to get a visiting visa?

Hi guys, is it true that you wont be allowed to enter the UK again if you leave after your studies, even if you have some months left on your visa?

Hi guys. My husband is not moving with me for my masters program but he will visit occasionally. Should he get a dependent visa or a visitors' visa? In other words, is it okay for him to get a dependent visa but not stay back in the UK?

Pls guys is it possible to get into the UK with a one-way ticket? I heard one must have a return ticket to be allowed through the border.

Hi guys, please what do I fill out in the space required for accommodation details? I dont have information on that yet since I intend to book airbnb while I carry out a search on where to stay permanently.

Thanks a lot Mimilyrics. You've been really helpful
Please anything wrong with having another huge amount entering my bank account within the 28-day period? A huge sum was transferred to my account and also left my account the next day. However, the school money is still there. Dunno if it'll be a problem. Or should I just count from when the money left? Problem is I will be late. School starts on the 24th of September and I dont know if applying for a visa on that 24th will reduce my chances

mimilyrics:
Print on the 29th day.
Day 1 is the day after the deposit is made because the opening balance on the day the deposit is made does not reflect the amount you require.
The opening balance of the day after a deposit is made is what shows the deposit of the previous day.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 2:15pm On Aug 27, 2018
Mimilyrics, so in other words, day 1 is the day the account statement started from and not the day after, right? Can I print the statement out on the day 28 or on day 29?

mimilyrics:
According to the T4 guidelines, you don't need to show the source of funds in your personal bank account as long as what is there is enough for his tuition and maintenance. All you need to show the UKVI is that the funds required have been in the account for 28 days counting from the day the opening balance reflects the requires funds.
To the school, he can get a letter from his company but he won't be needing it for UKVI: let him just print from the day after the money hit his account because that is the day 1 of the 28 day count.

Ok, thanks for your response

mimilyrics:
You do not need to do anything to get an IHS refund - it’s automatically paid to the account or card you paid with.

You’ll get a full IHS refund if:

you paid twice
your visa application is refused
you withdraw your visa application

I've cancelled the visa application. Please what do I do to get a refund for the IHS fee?

LaaJiblik:

1. If you haven’t attended the Biometric capture/documents submission and/or interview, your monies will be refunded.
2. Nope. You will have to pay fresh IHS with the new application.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 6:34pm On Aug 17, 2018
Thanks a lot. I've cancelled it. How do I cancel that of the IHS? Or will the refund happen automatically with that of the visa?

mimilyrics:
The 28 day rule for funds is strictly before the submission of your online application. Funds must have spent 28 days in your account before you submit online.
As long as you've submitted your online application before the money hits 28 days in your account, your application will be refused on the grounds that you didn't hold the money for 28 days.
Rescheduling your visa interview and document submission doesn't change it.
I suggest that you cancel your appointment, wait for the money in your account to hit 28 days, submit a new application, Go for your interview and wait for your visa.

The money paid in the previous application will be refunded but might not hit your account till about 4-8 weeks so don't rely on using that to pay for your new application.

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 10:20am On Aug 17, 2018
Thanks for the clarification. I have cancelled the application. But I dont know if I will get a refund. Would my health surcharge reference work for my next application?

Zoey1:
Any money you use for maintenance (tuition fees and living costs) must be in your account for a consecutive period of 28 days. During the 28-day period this money cannot drop below the required amount for even 1 day or you will not meet the Home Office requirements and your application will be refused.

Your bank statement must be no more than 31 days old on the date of your application.
Meaning...... The 28days counts before you submit application.
I have read people here who got denied thinking the period before biometrics adds towards 28days, it does not.
28days before submission of your visa application.

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 10:19am On Aug 17, 2018
My resumption date is 24th of September. I have already cancelled the application as the right thing to do is get the statement before booking an appointment. Problem is I dont know if I'll get a refund.

umarwy:

If you can reschedule your biometric for the next 28 days that should be alright, but read through the guidelines though. When is your resumption date??
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 3:52pm On Aug 16, 2018
Ok, but please what do you suggest I do now?

Phunmmiee:
I am not a guru here but from my little knowledge, the account must hit 28days before you submit your application at all.

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 3:51pm On Aug 16, 2018
So please what do you suggest I do now?

umarwy:

28 days before before your biometrics/interview date.

IHS takes about 28 working days and the visa could take more than 60 working days
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 1:58pm On Aug 16, 2018
To the gurus in the house, is the 28-day mark strictly before application or could it be before the interview? I just realized that mutual funds are not allowed, which is where my money has been all this while. Now I have to transfer the money to a cash account and wait another 28 days. I already applied for a visa though and chose an appointment day. Would you advise that I cancel the application and start afresh after the 28days or just reschedule my appointment while I wait for the 28days to elapse?
If I cancel, would I get a refund? and how long would a refund take?
Also, my initial intended date of travel was 18th September, but that wont be possible anymore. If I just reschedule what happens to this date? School starts on the 24th, but apparently, I'll be late
Please someone should help me out cos I'm really confused at the moment.

In addition to what mimilyrics has said with respect to your question. For priority, if you are applying using this link https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/apply-visa-type/tier4 (which I assume you are), then there's no problem with with paying $784 for the visa application and priority once and for all. When you are printing out your application, "Priority Service" will boldly be written on it and your checklist and your application will be treated as such. You do not have to pay 212 pounds on TLS again. This is based on my personal experience just two weeks ago.

As regards pilot schools, if your school is not one of Oxbridge, Bath and I think Imperial, please submit all necessary documents for safety sake, other pilot schools aren't being treated as such for now, to the best of my knowledge. On my interview day, everyone I saw was interviewed regardless of pilot scheme or not. So it is better to prepare to be interviewed. And even if you are going to any of the school I mentioned above, still prepare to be interviewed.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 10:51pm On Aug 14, 2018
Hi guys, please is there anyone that applied under the tier 4 pilot scheme for the newly added schools? I'll like to know if you presented your financial evidence and if you had an interview.

Secondly, my health surcharge says 315usd. Is that equivalent to 225 dollars? I was told I should pay 225 dollars and not 150 dollars, since my school was just added to the pilot scheme, but it hasn't been reflected on the IHS website yet.
Also, for those that paid for priority, did you pay the 784USD priority fee on Gov.uk or you paid for standard, then paid the 212 pounds on the tlscontact site?
Thanks
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 9:27am On Aug 13, 2018
Thanks for explaining. I was skeptical because the conversion rate was way above normal. My conversion was about 420 dollars and not up to 487 dollars.

mimilyrics:
That's the equivalent of £325 in dollars. The fees are usually converted to dollars at the point of payment.
Yes, you can use a Naira card as long as it's enabled for online forex transactions.
You'll pay the IHS fees before your visa fees. Once you're done with submission, the next task will be to choose your brp collection centre and thereafter you'll be directed to the IHS website after choosing your appointment date.
The steps are in the list of application to-do once you log into your account. Each completed task turns GREEN.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 4:30pm On Aug 12, 2018
Thanks a lot for your responses @liana001. I'll fill that part as YES since I've done NYSC and Yes, mine is tier 4 General as well.

To the gurus in the house, at the end of my application, I saw the total cost as 487 USD. I can't understand how it comes up to that from 325 pounds that was stated on the GOV.UK website. Does this include some other charge? How much did you all pay? Can I use a naira card to pay via my online platform? And at what point would I pay for the health surcharge?
Thanks

liana001:

@Renee25 Good morning. I've gone through my form and I didn't see any questions about previous work in government, military and so on. Mine is Tier 4 General. Is yours also General? or it's Sponsored? Anyway, you're fine putting 'No' since you've been working in a private hospital.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by Renee25: 1:56pm On Aug 10, 2018
Congratulations on your visa approval!
Please could you let me know at what point employment history was required on the form? I've filled my form but haven't submitted yet. However, the parts where I was asked if I work for the military, judiciary, government, media or security organisations, my answer was 'No' because I have been working in a private hospital. After that, there was no follow-up question requesting for my employment history. Please let me know where u indicated your employment history and if my job falls into any of the categories above.

Secondly, how long did you indicate that you'll be staying in the UK- 1 year or 1 year 4 months(as you expect to get on your visa)

liana001:
Hello here! At long last, it's my turn to testify!!! All gratitude to GOD almighty, I got my visa yesterday. I'm a self sponsoring student. Standard application. Online submission 10th July. Interview and biometrics 13th July. Decision Made 7th Aug. Courier delivery 9th Aug.

I was initially refused visa in Feb 2018 cos my statement was short of 28 days so I had to defer my admission to Sept. But when I got my new CAS, tuition had jumped to 15300 pounds from 13000, same course, same school, same year o. I just cancelled my place and started applying to new unis within my budget. I finally settled for RGU, Sept intake.

One important thing I noted on my Feb refusal letter was that the ECO said he "took account of 4 things in assessing my individual application

*the financial and employment information as declared by me in my application.
*my passport
*my family circumstances
*the supporting documents I provided
These just told me that for my re-application, to avoid new 'stories' and new reasons for refusal, it won't be a bad idea to add other relevant documents apart from just CAS credentials and financial evidence.

My circumstances are very peculiar: though I have a good travel history with UK and even have a 5 year visit visa valid till Sept 2019, I'm in my 30s, single, an adult orphan, unemployed since July 2017 (although I had worked continuously for 9years plus in the formal sector till last year), only one sibling in Nig and two in UK who have been there for decades, though legally. Even my TB certificate was to expire on 5th Aug 2018, but I used it like that.

This my 'serious combination' made me worry so much if they will see me as a genuine student, but after all the self-imposed headache, high body temperature, high BP, anxiety, sleepless nights, it came out positive.

Lastly, I appreciate everyone here for your posts. They all helped me in one way or the other. A very special, capital GBOSA with honours to @Justwise - to think you have been active and helpful on this thread since 2009 is simply commendable!!!

Best of luck to you all!

Hello everyone...Please has anyone applied for a tier 4 visa under any of the new schools qualifying for the pilot scheme? If so, did you need to submit or show evidence of financial capability. My school, University of Sheffield qualifies, and they instructed that 'I may not submit financial evidence'. Please someon should let me know if I can go ahead for the interview without submitting this.

Secondly, I've been denied a visa to the US once but I was eventually granted the visa. In the part that asks of denial of any visa should my answer be 'Yes'. And if it is, what will be my reason for denial? US embassy didnt give me any reason at the time. Please kindly help me with these questions. Thanks

I will advise that you still prepare your financial and academic documents for your Tier 4 visa application (e.g. such as a bank statements/sponsor letter or academic qualifications), you will not be required to submit these. Please note that you are still required to meet the Tier 4 Immigration Rules and you may be chosen to provide this documentation to the UKVI.

Secondly, the question about problems with immigration to other countries other than the UK does not ask whether or not you were granted visa after having been denied previously. It asks, "Have you ever been refused a visa for another country other than the UK?" - period. If you answer "No" but then they determine that you have been denied a visa in the past, they may consider that to be fraud, and you will be barred from entry for a number of years. It is better to admit the truth since you'll be asked to provide further details such as the section of the U.S law (e.g 214b) which determined your ineligibility. Besides in the preceding section your international travel history will show that you've been to the USA before. See if you could also talk to the international student support of your school to get their opinion.

I hope this helps.

Thanks a lot...It was really helpful. So you mean I should carry the documents with me to the interview?

Hi guys. Please i'll like to know if it's possible to use my husband's bank statement as evidence of funds to apply for a UK student's visa.Because I keep seeing parents/guardians on all the pages.
Also, my bank statements still bear my maiden name. Would that be a problem?

Hello house, I'm new to this forum. Please i'm in a fix at the moment. I am 12weeks pregnant, though not showing. I applied for a B1/B2 visa for vacation. DH applied through dropbox. I just realized i should have applied for a B2 visa instead. My appointment is on the 19th. I havent made correspondence with any doctor in the US. And right now, it's late to do that since my appointment is next week. Please what do i do?

Do i tell them at the interview that i'm pregnant even if i'm not asked?
Also my hubby has a sole-proprietor company account. Would it be wise to transfer the money there to his savings account at this moment or should i just leave it as it is? Thanks in advance
