HungerBAD:
Sad.

Always sad when i see able bodied people stealing, and getting themselves embarrassed like this.

He is lucky to be alive.

Until you have had an encounter with thieves, then you can say no to Jungle Justice.

Team Jungle Justice.
Wow.
You think being roasted alive is appropriate punishment for stealing a generator.
As long as there is sense and humanity in this world, people like you will never be in position of power.
Amen.

Science/Technology / Re: Journey To The Core: How Far Down Is The Center Of The Earth? by RetroBoy: 7:06pm On Sep 18, 2016
Ximonak:
digging through is not even the biggest issue, it's handling the Core and the effects of it. There are possibilities of

1. molten magma(and it's even hotter ) coming out through the earth to th surface just like volcanos because of temperature difference.

2. low or no gravity at the core, meaning weightlessness problem.
3. the drilling through the core could cause Expansion (shift in Underground rock formations) indirectly cause quakes or plate shift etc

I remember watching a Hollywood film where people do transport from one place through the earth centre to another part o the earth. when getting o the centre weightless effect was added just too. can't remember the name of the movie
I don't think weightlessness occurs at the Earth's core.
Remember that gravitational pull, or gravity is a function of distance from Earth and between another celestial body, such as the Moon.
If anything, gravitational force should be more the deeper you go.

I started ONE BRIGHT SUMMER MORNING when a guy named MALLORY sent me a A COFFIN FROM HONG KONG. I dispatched it quickly and asked for more. He offered to pay me to read other titles, and I smelt A WHIFF OF MONEY. However, he could only be TRUSTED LIKE A FOX ,so I asked him if THIS IS FOR REAL?
"YOU HAVE YOURSELF A DEAL", He told me..
Any takers?

Good day house.
I presently have a valid UK visa which country expires on the 4th of October.
However, I have a course and an exam slated for mid-November.(the course starts last week of September and extends to the middle of November, right before the exam and my visa will have expired by then).
can I apply for an extension of the visa? or do I have to apply for another one?
PS: I am presently in Nigeria

Forgive my ignorance, but where did it come out from? I don't understand fully.
the placenta grows with and is delivered with the baby. It is separated from the baby at birth by cutting the umbilical cord and buried separately.

Literature / Re: Which African Writer Wrote Better Than Chinua Achebe? by RetroBoy: 8:53am On May 06, 2016
You cannot compare works of art.
African writers are extremely resourceful and talented.
A lot of people here have supported Soyinka or Achebe along ethnic lines; their folly and myopia is mind-boggling. Art is art, anywhere in the world.
Even as a Yoruba, Chinua Achebe's work will continually hold a dear place in my heart. I read Things Fall Apart for the first time at age 8 , and I havevread it a dozen times since then.
Other great African works of art include:
The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born-Ayi Kwei Armah
Why Are We So Blest-Ngugi wa Thiong'o
The Concubine-Elechi Amadi
Joys Of Motherhood-Buchi Emecheta
Madmen And Specialists-Wole Soyinka
Arrow of God-Chinua Achebe
Toads for Supper-Elechi Amadi

Politics / Ondo Health Workers Protest 5Months Unpaid Salaries (pics) by RetroBoy: 9:04pm On May 03, 2016
Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and indeed, all cadres of healthcare workers in the Medical Village, Ondo took to the streets in a peaceful demonstration to protest the non-payment of salaries for the past 5 months.
The aggrieved workers also used the opportunity to publicize the owed salaries, as there had been a curious media silence on the state of workers' welfare and remunerations before then,
They were received at the palace of the Osemawe of Ondo, HRM Oba Kiladejo, who addressed the workers and implored them to be patient until ongoing negotiations yielded a lasting solution.

Moderators, please let people know the true state of things in Ondo State

Politics / Re: ‘Why Bitumen Exploration Is Just Taking Off In Ondo’ by RetroBoy: 11:21am On Apr 30, 2016
iKarma:

I am not arguing with you about Ondo's mismanagement, so save the unnecessary long epistle for another thread. Like Bayelsa like all 36 state.

My grouse with you is your thought process. Ondo shouldn't stop working or stop diversifying its economy because of current salary issue.

If Ondo does, una cry. If Ono, doesn't, una still cry. Are you from Ondo? Do you currently live in Ondo?

Had you taken time to read and digest the article, you'd have read where they stated that FG had to give Ondo permission to start exploiting Bitumen. Because of fear of how Ondo would grow, being that it's the largest host of bitumen resources in the world, they've been delaying the process. Clueless shoeless GEJ delayed the permission process further. Ondo couldn't have started mining without permission.
How long will it take Ondo to start generating revenue fron the bitumen exploration?
Are you saying Ondo workers should forget salaries until revenue starts coming from bitumen exploration?
