I would like to draw a conclusion to this because the intelligent one has to control debate and end it when the respondent has become a joke

Mind you hope you know you look stupid before Muslims claiming your own god approves alcohol whereas the allah they ascribe to the Bible God forbids it

Slave of beer ?? Very hilarious statement. When i say you pentecostals are myopic, e dey be like insult. Like saying since the bible condemned gluttony, then eating food is bad.

See Simple straightforward questions that you cannot answer in return, you just dey rigmarole around picked up bible verses.

Trying to enlighten you people with language is futile, na only 'deceptive faith based' teachings una sabi. Whilst the truth is clear like the biblical hand writing on the wall.

I could explain your quoted bible verses in english, if you wish to use it as a bargaining chip to answer my questions. If anyone should go through them, its clear they were 'cherry picked' and hold absolutely no water to the topic at hand. Should i ??

oh, I suppose you are athiest too, don't run yet you have been asking for my attention

What do you mean by pentecostal Bible or do you belong to the Mary worshipping set who say they honour her.

If you Catholics think drinking beer in front of Mary is prescribed in the bible it is false

I said showed you the New King James translation why don't you go online and just find it

The translation says drink wine and buy what you desire, but you hypocrites changed it to strong wine (no surprise because Catholics where the original custodians of these translations and they drink beer)

But instead of been stupid why don't you ask yourself what God has been saying about alcohol before that verse?

God is consistent not bending in his laws before the Deuteronomy scripture he has condemned alcohol already in Leviticus and numbers

Leviticus 10:9

“Do not drink wine or strong drink, neither you nor your sons with you, when you come into the tent of meeting, so that you will not die—it is a perpetual statute throughout your generations

Above scripture is why i love God, you Catholics said you can drink alcohol in God's presence but he has said don't drink alcohol when you come to his presence

Never Forget that Leviticus and Numbers comes before Deuteronomy, God can not command his people explicitly not to drink strong wine and changes it later on

Numbers 6:3

he shall abstain from wine and strong drink; he shall drink no vinegar, whether made from wine or strong drink, nor shall he drink any GRAPE JUICE nor eat fresh or dried grapes.

It is clear from the above that there was different types of wine gotten from grapes in those days (the one of alcohol and the plain grape juice)

Isaiah 5:11

Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink,
Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!

As you can see the prophet of God is cursing those who drink strong drink wether day or night

God recommends grape juice as wine, you hypocrites are making a fool of yourselves

You see the deceit you hypocrites beer drinkers did in Deuteronomy 14:26, because it talks about God giving a little freedom in merriment you people changed it to your wildest fantasy of drinking beer forgetting God has settled that

Was the original king james bible a product of the catholic church ??
Yea, pentecostals alter the bible to suit their narratives.
Where the bible talks about levites and makes reference to the house of God, you just generalise it, you lift scriptures and quote without making reference to the original whole context it was intended for. Its pitiful how you people make Christians look like stupid people. Now going by the original bible before translation, the word for wine was used in all its representations before you people started changing it. Or dis the catholic church write the original bible ??

I dont want to engage in arguments like this, because it wouldn't change anything. Most pentecostals are myopic when it comes to issues of the faith(this is clear)

Even paul said he wouldn't do some things not because they are bad/condemned, but because he wouldn't want a weak brethren to stray. You guys should learn to preach the gospel well.

Wine is not bad, drunkenness is bad. Food is not bad, gluttony is bad.

I rest my case on this. Even if i offer to take you back in time to the age of the prophets, you still will not believe me, so long as your daddy in the lord says otherwise. Pathetic

I actually figured out your question is irrelevant as I have trashed that already why exposing the other ignorant athiest that has since run away after complaining I back my debate with too many solid scriptures which leaves him shallow

So quoting you is just a duplication

This is the Deuteronomy 14:26

◄ Deuteronomy 14:26 ►

New King James Version
And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

So what is your point exactly?

Go and get educated, the ignorance you speak of is from your mirror

This is my own king james version. You pentecostal alter the bible everyday to suit your myopic narratives. FYI This is the first time you are answering any of my questions. Since we obviously have different footings and you choose to be tied to your flawed beliefs, i'd leave you to it. Its your prerogative. That something shouldn't be done doesn't mean it is bad. The English in the bible is simple, but your lot chose to confuse people.

Jews are commanded by Yaweh not to eat any day leftover meal or drink and that is the law

You can't be blabbing without quoting and referencing the archeological, historical heritage of the Jews which is their Torah/Bible

Scientists who are even athiest still use Bible passages to trace anything concerning jews

Yaweh gave his laws for a memorial, Practicing Jews don't eat left overs whether passover or no passover (until I bursted you, you were saying it was only manna for the Jews in the wilderness for manna time, you have shifted goal post after knowing it's a law for ever)

Genesis 32:32, NIV: "Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob's hip was touched near the tendon."

What if i told you that Jews do not eat the tendon of a meat to date because an angel touched the hip of Jacob during wrestle.

It's all practice and culture you don't tell people what they practice

What muslim do is irrelevant because Muslims are not Yaweh chosen people, neither did Yaweh give me that law.

I'm waiting for answers to my own questions, dont run yet o and while you are at that, please highlight deut 14:26, what does it say in your own bible.

You see, we Christians especially the pentecostal Christians do not know anything. They constitute the population that brings mockery to the Christian faith. They talk/argue blindly and term it faith. Sometimes, you end up mocking the God you think you are defending with your vague and baseless claims.

Now she is 3yrs and she does things extraordinary. She can write 1 to 200, Aa to Zz without anybody assistance. She does her H/W alone, can read and spell two letter words. She sings a lot. I wanted her to play at least one musical instrument b4 she turns 5.

Two yrs ago, I had this vision of grooming "exceptionally intelligent" kids btw 9-12yrs to study outside their normal school curriculum. I mean a 9yr old kid in JS1 answering physics and advance maths question. Am still working on it. But my child is just 3yrs old and i am begining to be afraid. Married with two kids, an average of 30k monthly income as a private school teacher, I think, I lack the financial resources to push my daughter to where she deserves.

I need proper advice on how to guide her now.
This is the kind of advice seeking posts that should be gracing the front page on nairaland.
Now back to the topic. I doubt there are schools for the gifted in Nigeria. You have to work extra hard to ensure your kid stays in the path. Its your homework sir. Please groom that genius well

Well the only way Nigeria can give back to the people is by raising enough revenue so that we can do that

Subsides on petrol and power and many otjer things prevent growth in those sectors which means reduced taxes .Why? Because as i have said many times it involves price controls which reduceprofitability , job growth and investment

Then because most of us dont pay taxes ( it is a fact and the World bank has criticised our goverment for it and it is because most of us work in the informal sector) goverment ia forced to rely on oil which doesn't give us enough of a revenue because of fluctuating prices

All that is part of the bad management of the government. Then corruption and nepotism is the cherry on the top so tp speak

But most Nigerians are a Marxist anyway. They want goverment to spend imaginary money on solving real problems. No wonder we are in debt.

Good morning
We are almost on the same plain now. We have established that Nigeria's problem is bad govt/management right ??

Now lets exonerate subsidy.

They are running it at a loss because they are the government, not a business.

Back when British railways was run by their government, tickets were very cheap, yet many of the trains, while running were rundown and poor.

Then the government privatized the railways. While ticket prices went up too high, the quality of the trains went up.

Government is not a business. They exist to 'serve the people'. So, they run things at 'people's prices' . That's how many communist countries used to roll...till they started running out of money , and collapsed. Now, the private sector runs a lot of things in those same countries.

At the end of the day, they (NRC) would be forced to privatize because they would run at a loss.(AND then they have to pay back the chinese loans)

In a way, I am not surprised the government is running rail at a loss. That's how they run most things around here. And, eventually...down the line, they may privatize the thing lock, stock and barrel. Or keep running at a loss, meanwhile no profit to fix the train carriages well, to upgrade the lines, to pay for new innovations. And then corruption and patronage sets in too.

See why i said you know little to nothing of the topic you choose to delve in. Somethings are simply 'giving back' to the people. These services are used to balance the effects of hard economy on a nation. As time goes and things fall into place, they are then restored to profit making operation. Does govt make profit from healthcare ?? Road maintenance ?? Bridge building ?? Education ??
These are not profit making sectors. This is where your tax money goes to.

Nigeria is not properly managed, stop blaming subsidy. If the govt makes profit from everything, average man go fit survive ??

If subsidy goes

1. Marketers would earn more profits

2. Goverment would save money and would actually earn more money in taxes

3. There would be more refinereis since it would now ve profitable to refine fuel in Nigeria

4. No more.sharp practices like smuggling and so on

5. There would be more jobs and more jobs and more investment. That for me is what i care about more than the above reasons

We are all shortchanging ourselves by using cheap fuel. And the results are bad refinereis, bad practices and no jobs. And trillions dowb the drain.

Venezuela sells fuel at 40.naira. they also lose 18 billion dollars to smuggling alone

You can laugh, you can call me a propaganda man and a fuel marketer. I am not. I dont even know any fuel marketers personally. I am.not in governemt nor do i back any of the main parties. I backed fuel subsidy for a long time until i got my wake up call in 2012

Thanks for chatting anyway. But as for me price controls and subsides dont work. Whoever is in charge.

Cheap fuel is really expensive
The only problem with fuel subsidy is its toll on the government. You really dont understand how economics works.
Do you know why the Nigerian govt is building railways, even though they are running at a loss ??

The problem with subsidy is that by its nature everyone is shortchanged. And everyone resorts to sharp practices...whether it be government corruption or false claims to make money...because if you don't , you lose.

At the end of the day, price controls don't work. Someone is going to lose money as a result.

My joy is the govt have now come out to spell it clearly, the reason everyone knows subsidy can't be removed.
Subsidy is social order. It is like food stamps or welfare bonuses. Remove it and in a month, you'll witness an Arab Spring of some sort.
Even with subsidy, we are having social challenges.
As for that dude, I suspect he's a fuel marketer or related to one, or engaged by one to push his propaganda. He has opened many monikers and failed severally, even vowing at one instance to leave the forum for good.
But here he is again. Man must whack

1.The matketers were.engaging in sharp practices because subsidy made it difficult for them to make a profit.

Back in 2012 it cost N99 to import one liter of.fuel. Marketers then sold same fuel at N65

By 2015 it cost N132 to import one liter of.fuel. Marketers were then selling it at N87.

Meanwhile the falling price of crude meant available revenue to pay the difference ie subsidy was running out. Oil was at 108 dollars per barrel in 2012, by 2015 oil fell to 60 dollars per barrel

Under such circumstances the only way to make a profit was by sharp practices

2. Even now marketers are barely breaking even. If not for the fact that goverment also subsidises the transport of.fuel from.depot to base they would have been broke

3. Add the fact that the cost of refining fuel goes up...

So, you are saying outrightly that the government short changes the marketers ??

NNPC is the sole importer of fuel since 2016.They also pay for subsidies out of their pocket. Government helps too

Also many marketers made profit pre 2016 by making false subsidy claims and by smuggling to neighbouring African countries where fuel is more expensive . And by selling on the black market during scarcity times

There are a lot of reasons why gej wanted to remove subsidy.

Now this points are solid.
Nnpc became the sole importer due to subsidy fraud. Its not like the marketers were not making profits, they just wanted more than their fair share.

Do you know what a #1 naira profit per litre of petrol amounts to per day in nigeria ??

Refineries will function if it is privatised and the license given to few people using state/geo political zone to avoid marginalisation claims.
The profit will now be based on sales volume, not per unit of product

Good evening. I have tried.

If you bought shoes at N8000 a pair to sell at N14000 a pair to earn a profit of N6000 a pair and then government comes in and forces you to sell at N4000 a pair meaning you lose N4000 but goverment pays you a subsidy of N2000 reducing your loss to N2000 a pair, would you like it?

You wont like it if i called you a communist . Because that is what you are. You don't want businesses to make enough profit because you think it ends up in their pockets. It does not.

You cannot be business friendly and be supporting price controls which are an inherent part of subsidies
Abeg read that your analogy again, it makes no sense in reference to the topic we are talking about

The cost of refining petrol is not static. It rises

So anytime oil prices rise , the cost of refinong petrol rises.

To keep petrol cheap in Nigeria , we have to pay more money to the sector in the form pf subsidy to compesate them for the losses made selling petrol at a cheap price.

Thats a large part of the reason why we don't see much benefit when oil prices rise. We are spending a large part of the revenue from crude on subsidising fuel

Plus we import because subsides make it unprofitable to refine petrol in Nigeria. Unless your name ia dangote and you have enough collateral to take loans from banks to build a refinery

I'm still laughing from your first assertion, u just dropped another one. Just say you dont like subsidy, its understandable, not all this unfounded allegations on top subsidy head

Subsidy, is it not the money govt pays to make fuel cheap ??

If one can produce the petrol in nigeria, will govt not pay him the normal subsidy to make the petrol cheap ??

Just say Nigeria is not a business friendly place, stop blaming subsidy, its done no wrong in this instance

I was expecting the pandora expose of Oyedepo to be debunked outrightly as false. Sadly, this rather hilarious truth has found a firm footing.
